Purchased the unit and after three months it completely failed, just stopped working, likely due to water ingress. I received a replacement, and after eight months it failed again with the exact same issue. I always remove the cleaner from the pool… Read more

after each cycle, so it’s not a misuse problem.

Aiper have offered another replacement, but only with the remaining few months of the original warranty. That’s not acceptable, twice bitten, not going for a third. This is clearly a design fault, and reading other customer experiences across multiple models, it seems to be a very common failure pattern.

My pool technician warned me about Aiper’s reputation, and I should have listened. Slick marketing and videos, but very poor design and reliability. Hopefully this helps someone avoid the same frustration and expense I’ve gone through.

Follow-up  · It’s now been several weeks since my initial review, and Aiper did reach out to try to resolve my concerns. They offered to replace the system, but only with the remaining warranty from my original purchase. (2-3 months) I understand this is their standard policy, but it doesn’t make sense to accept the same unit again, especially after it has… Read more

I purchased an Aiper Scuba S1 Pro robotic pool cleaner directly from Aiper online on 6 January 2025 for $1,294.09. The product was supplied with a two-year manufacturer's warranty. In approximately October 2025, the robot began malfunctioning. The front wheels would lift off the pool floor during operation, preventing the unit from cleaning… Read more

effectively and leaving the pool in a dirty condition, it also never climbed the walls to clean the water line I first reported the issue to Aiper on 20 November 2025. I followed their troubleshooting instructions, including thoroughly cleaning the unit and checking all components, however the fault remained. I provided videos of the issue as requested. On 24 November 2025, Aiper advised that the machine appeared to be malfunctioning and required factory repair. They provided a return shipping label and I returned the unit. Aiper subsequently advised that the robot had been repaired and it was returned to me, with shipment notification received on 13 December 2025. The robot then operated normally for approximately one month before the same fault reoccurred on 16 January 2026. Following further correspondence and troubleshooting, Aiper again provided a return shipping label and I returned the unit in February 2026. On 17 February 2026, Aiper confirmed that the robot was in transit back to them. After several follow-up enquiries regarding the repair status, Aiper advised me by email on 9 April 2026: "We regret to inform you that spare parts for the Scuba S1 Pro are currently unavailable in Australia, therefore we are temporarily unable to provide repair services. The spare parts are expected to arrive in May." On 1 May 2026, I requested a full refund on the basis that: The product had failed twice with the same fault; The initial warranty repair was unsuccessful; Aiper was unable to repair the unit due to unavailable parts; and The product had not been repaired within a reasonable timeframe. Since then, I have exchanged numerous emails with Aiper. They initially refused a refund, then offered an extended warranty, followed by a replacement unit, and most recently offered a partial refund of $647.09 (approximately 50% of the purchase price). Now they are not offering a replacement, which I won't accept anyway. I have declined these offers. The product was only approximately nine months old when the fault first occurred. It subsequently failed again shortly after repair, and I have been without a functioning robot since October 2026. I have lost confidence in the reliability of the product due to the repeated failures and the lengthy delay in providing an effective remedy. I am seeking assistance in obtaining a full refund under Australian Consumer Law through Consumer and Business Services SA. In short - DO NOT BUY, they sell faulty products and totally disregard Australian Consumer Law.

When it works, this pool cleaner is really good. The problem however is with reliability, longevity and after-sales support. I have been through two units and three faults in less than 18 months, at which point my replacement unit is dead and Aiper is essentially choosing to discontinue assisting me. I originally purchased my unit in November… Read more

2024. It worked well for 6 months then developed a fault (the power button didn't work, the unit turned on by itself when out of the pool, it would stop and start moving intermittently when in the pool). It was sent back for repair and then worked well again for 7 months, at which point it developed a new fault (it would not turn off with the power button, only on full draining of the battery). This time, instead of repair, a new 2025 model was provided by Aiper as a replacement, which was good of Aiper. That cleaner also worked well, until it didn't - which this time unfortunately only took 3 months, and the battery has died/the unit won't charge.

I've requested another replacement unit, however this time Aiper is only offering a refund on return of the faulty unit. They're using some dodgy nonsense excuse about not having any replacement units available to provide, despite having stock available to purchase in their store (which they say they cannot access for replacement purposes - apparently "after-sales inventory is separate from the stock available for sale on our website").

They have said I can repurchase a new unit after I receive my refund, however the issue here is that I paid $765 for my unit on sale, whereas the current price is $1199. So they want me to pay an extra $434 (or 56 percent more) to access a replacement unit, which is both extortionate and illegal under Australian Consumer Law.

I have notified them that this is unacceptable and am awaiting a response. I've refrained from writing a negative review up until now because the cleaner is good when it's working, and Aiper has been amenable in its follow-up service, right up until it has not. But this is a step too far and I feel people should be fully informed of the risks if they're considering purchasing this product.

Obviously these units have design/mechanical/battery issues (just have a quick look at reviews) and are unreliable in the long term. Support is patchy, and you need to bear in mind that if you're sending your unit back for repair or replacement every six months it might be weeks that you're left without a pool cleaner, which could harm your pool significantly, so it's best to have a back-up cleaner on hand (which you shouldn't have to have, but I recommend you do if you go down the Aiper path, as otherwise you will find yourself manually cleaning for extended periods of time, which totally defeats the purpose of having a pool cleaner). Would I recommend this cleaner? On balance, no. Reliability and after-sales service need to be considered along with initial price, and buying this cleaner from Aiper is clearly risky, unacceptably so now in my opinion, from my experience.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased these products to make life easier, but Aiper has done the exact opposite—causing nothing but extra work and stress. do commend them for prompt replies to emails, usually with 12hours, clearly this company has a serious battery problem with these units as I have two neighbours who have experienced similar problems. In conclusion, battery powered pool cleaners are not worth the investment. I paid $1500 for one with an advertised 2 year warranty. Even if it had lasted 2 years, it was still $750 a year, on the basis that lithium batteries have a life of approx 2years.Gone back to a $100 “creepy crawly”, the hoses last 3-4 years, (approx$120) and the valve/skirt 2 years. (Approx$60). Caveat Emptor.

Aiper scuba S1 Pro (2025 upgrade) For cleaning my pool size, 65 square metres including sides, the Scuba S1 pro could be seen as a bit of overkill with capability of 200 square metres, but having used it about 10 time now since new are getting to… Read more

understand how it works for best advantage, it is doing a great job of keeping my pool scrubbed and clean. Purchased this model over the std. S1 model because it offered features like smarter navigation with obstacle avoidance, an app for control, a larger 5L filter, stronger suction, caterpillar tracks for better grip, and enhanced waterline cleaning.

The large, easy to empty and clean filter basket (primary is 180 micron) which comes with a secondary filter (3 micron) to remove the finest of particles (algae, silt, sand, and microscopic debris). The filter basket is simple to clean and re-install. Not all cleaners have the 3-micron inner filter as well. The caterpillar tracks are claimed to enable scaling walls at 90 degrees +/- 15 degrees. I found this to be pretty accurate.

The downloadable app that runs the aiper is ok, but once the robot is in the water, it does not communicate with the app and if you wanted to change a cycle etc. you would have to try and grab it out of the water on a close pass.

I wanted a robot with waterline scrubbing and this robot will do it (The basic S1 does not) I have read from some reviews that the water line scrubbing does not work on a pool with a safety ledge as ours has. This robot does manage to climb up to the safety ledge and then climb over it and scrub the water line horizontally as the total length of the robot is less than the height from the ledge to the top of the pool. It works well enough, but I have seen it struggle trying to get past the pool return outlets and then lights. I have found that if I set it to scrub the floor and walls, that it will climb up to and over the safety ledge and then scrub the waterline vertically. The navigation system seems to work well enough, as when first using it I sat and watched it and it did cover pretty much the whole pool. It also has “Wave Line” technology for effective waterline cleaning.

The suction is strong, it has 4 brushless motors and does not seem to lack power, more then enough for the job.

The aiper has 5 cleaning modes: Auto; Eco; Waterline; Floor only; Walls only; I mainly use mine on auto mode where it cleans the floor and walls and waterline vertically. It runs for up to 3 hours in one of the std. modes and auto mode I still get over 2 hours of cleaning which is more than enough. If you set the mode to Eco, you leave it in the pool and it will run for 3 separate, 45-minute cleaning cycles over a week with reduced energy consumption to keep the pool clean.

My pool is fibreglass but apparently this cleaner is compatible with all pool types except Vinyl. It will also handle all shapes and sizes of pools according to Aiper, except for Infinity pools. Its good not having cords to worry about and for operation could not be simpler, press the power button, elect the mode (simple push buttons on machine, or use the app) and drop it in the pool, it does the rest.

The robot will finish near the edge of the pool to help retrieval which is by a hook attached to a pole (use your skimmer pole) which hooks into the handle in front and is then lifted out to the edge of the pool. The robot is around 12 kilograms and when full of water is around 15 kilograms – I tend to hold it by the handle on the edge of the pool to drain the water away before lifting it out. There is a charge port on the rear of the robot covered with a waterproof cover. It takes 3-4 hours to recharge the robot with the supplied charger. For around $150 you can buy a charge dock which uses the supplied charger and then just sit the robot on the dock to charge it. You could use this to just stores the robot until next use, but I found it just as easy to charge it with the charger and then stow the cleaner into a large plastic box.

All in all, very happy with this robot, have not had any hassles so far, it does come with 2-year warranty as well. I would rate this 4 stars as there is no option to rate 4.5, its not quite 5 stars.

PROS: Even though largely made of plastic, seems very well built and robust; Suction is strong, cleans and negotiates the pool very well; Climbs the walls easily and can run over the safety ledge and clean the waterline; Big capacity, capable of managing pool size up to 200 square metres (think that includes walls); Very good size filter basket (5 L); Very good filtration (180-micron std. and 3 microns for fine particles and debris); Navigation system seems to work well with its mapping capability as does waterline tracking; No cords and power cables; CONS: Weight could be a consideration for some people (is about 15kg when full of water); The app only works out of water, no control once in the water; Waterline cleaning – can get stuck on lights and protrusions into pool;

Follow-up  · Have been using the aiper scuba S1 pro for nearly 2 months now. It hasn't disappointed and is still doing a good job of cleaning the pool. The pool has a safety ledge around the perimeter and a large "seat" down one side but the cleaner still manages to get up the sides satisfactorily, over the safety ledge and up to the water line. I still don't… Read more

My pool is rectangle per the picture attached. Used several times last summer, a couple of times off season for pool maintenance. Overall, I've recommended this cleaner to everyone, up until now!

Its a little heavy, heaps more so when pulling out of water, pulled out at the wrong angle will dump some debris back into the pool, always goes flat in the deep end, always wrestle the hook to pull out of water, no chance catching handle in low light. There was nothing 'fine' about the fine particle filter. The APP can't talk to the cleaner when on charge.

Getting ready for this season and after 3 cleans, had it on charge and upon return found it completely inoperable. Dead out of the water.

Spoke to customer service who was very reassuring … said all the right things … still under warranty ….. will email you service details …. a return label …. impression its a battery fault … mother board fault … nothing to worry about … etc

So, I'm going to give them several days to sort this issue and keep them to their reassured promises.

I'll update this thread with the results and provide feedback on AIPER's service and warranty procedures.

Stand by for more ...

Purchased a Scuba S1 pro as 40% off for Amazon Prime Day figuring I would give it a try under the safety of 30 day money back guarantee. The unit arrived quickly, was packaged well and instructions were fairly clear. Range of observations - App does not allow 'pasting' passwords, and intermittently won't bring up keyboard. Also won't work with… Read more

keyboard replacement password managers during initial setup / creating account but appears to work fine when logging in subsequently - Range of options for floor only, floor and wall, wall only, waterline only and simple to configure - Unit looks quite cheaply built / hard plastics and lid doesn't close properly more than half the time / if not closed carefully it buckles on sides so doesn't seal which likely impacts vacuum performance. - Battery status is hit-and-miss, showed fully charged 100% out of box but went flat within 30 mins of operation. Battery then showed 14% but on plugging in to charge immediately went to 27% and quickly rose to 70%. The unit seems to charge fine when left four hours but the battery level indicator when connected to phone is wildly inaccurate. - Firmware shows 1.0.0 and won't accept an update (saying fully updated). Numerous reddit posts advising firmware update required to 1.1.1 or similar to update floor cleaning pattern so unit will operate properly. Also multiple posts from people claiming their unit stuck on firmware 1.0.0 and will not update without outside support / sending it back - I could not get a response from support to date regarding this issue - I have straight(ish) pool but curve at end and really struggled to find a cleaning path that worked. The straight 'S' path had approaching walls at 45 degrees and then departing at 45 degrees resulting in the same path being repeated again and again and significant sections of shallow end not being touched at all / completely missed in path. - Also tried 'Random' path for odd shaped pools and this was better, resulting in maybe 75% of pool being cleaned, missing mostly shallow end - The cleaner picked up pretty much everything it went over but did throw some of the finer stuff right back out again. It has a fine particle filter but several reddit posts describe gaps around edges of filter letting dirt through and one poster gluing metal plates to block edges of fine filter with good success. - Almost immediate robot response to product support emails but automated response simply asked for the same information I had already provided in the contact form - Contact form for support is inconsistent, sometimes with french components and repeats sections (asks for proof of purchase twice). - Support form requires proof-of-purchase but will not allow PDF and must be screenshot (why?) - Field markers in contact form are not described well meaning auto-fill will not work. Whilst unrelated to manufacturing quality, if a company cannot get this right then it leaves grave concerns regarding their attention to detail across the board - S1 Pro gets stuck on solar water intake grates which are not huge and previous Dolphin M5 traversed without issue. - S1 Pro is completely useless cleaning steps and ledges. Several posters have described a firmware update helping with this but from the looks of it success is marginal at best. I have had no luck getting it to clean a step or ledge, even when placing the unit on a ledge in right direction like you would help a child ride a bike. - Basket is not difficult to clean but without filtration webbing at bottom, is dififcult to 'hose clean'. Bottom flap is also raised so can't hose debris out either. Seems like a poor design but I know other brands with similar issues - Robot is entirely uncontactable underwater but this is a technology issue, not a S1 Pro issue. WiFi and Bluetooth do not work underwater. If you want to be able to check status whilst operating then you need a wired / tethered unit where the control system is never immersed. - The unit is heavy but not unmanageable. The battery makes them much heavier than wired / tethered alternatives but not having a cable is attractive to some. - The hook supplied is near-on useless as it does not wrap around the handle enough and the unit frequently falls back into the water as it changes angle with flotation orientation when getting close to the surface. - The Scuba S1 Pro has only three reviews on the reseller website, all five star. I posted a one star review and confirmed it was submitted but did not show up. I wonder how many other low-star reviews have been screened from being published. This feels deceiptful. - There are multiple Reddit and other posts claiming that Aiper and Wybot are the same company or same parent entity with products from both companies sharing same product patent numbers and other details. Wybot units are considerably cheaper and likely same or similar workings inside

In essence, the Scuba S1 pro does not clean nearly as well as my 12yo Dolphin M5 and Aiper support is non existent. There appears enough short-cuts taken for me to hold grave concerns about the ability to support this product over time, so I will be returning it under the 30 day money-back guarantee

I have a large rectangular concrete pool. It ranges from about .9 to 1.9 metres in depth. After some research I thought the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro might do the job of cleaning the large area involved. It doesn’t. Here’s my suggestions for anybody considering a robot pool cleaner. They’re okay but they have limits well beyond what the manufacturers… Read more

would have you believe. The biggest single problem they have is that they all include a filtering system therefore they very quickly clog up and cease any meaningful cleaning. In fact once the filter and basket is blocked up they simply pick up the dirt and dust and it is blown out again making your pool water quite murky. The number one cause of this problem is the use of granular chlorine. It is just chalk impregnated with chlorine gas. Once the gas is released the chalk sits on the bottom providing a sludge that must be removed. For a robot pool cleaner like the Aiper Scuba Pro it is death to any effective cleaning.

This Aiper machine will prove a reasonable investment if - 1. You have a sparkling clean, balanced and spotless pool that just needs a few leaves picked up. 2. Your pool is rectangular or square and no bigger than say six metres or deeper than one and a half metres. 3. You only use (expensive and often watered down) liquid chlorine or you have a salt-water chlorinator. 4. You use the machine nearly every day. (Have yet to get the machine to operate in a set pattern so it just wanders about randomly. It will take a few days cover every bit.) 5. You do a lot sweeping and wall cleaning yourself. (The wall cleaning mode is not that great so it’s a bit like cleaning your house for the cleaning lady.)

Aiper were very helpful with my problems and were so convinced that I had a faulty machine they arranged to replace it. It worked (ie didn’t work) exactly the same. I didn’t bother contacting them again. Buy one if you must but don’t expect too much.

Mesmerising to watch it work – We've had the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro for a few weeks, given to us as a gift. It does a good job of cleaning the pool and scrubbing right up to the top of the walls at the waterline. It doesn't get caught on steps. It's easy ... turn it on, set it to do "floor and walls" or just "floor" (there are others), and drop it in to the pool. It's mesmerising… Read more

to watch! Our pool is a pebble finish, without a sharp angle between walls and floor.

I don't understand the reviews that say it doesn't work, It sucks up very small sand, dirt and organic particles as well as large leaves. Ours even picks up small pool toys left on the bottom. Cleaning the basket is easy. It is not a cheap option for pool cleaning, but doesn't get in the rode like a suction cleaner with a hose.

Recharging takes less than 90 minutes, and the cleaner will work for 3 hours before it stops and "docks". It is rather heavy to lift out of the pool, and sometimes stops in the deep end, requiring some effort to retrieve it with the supplied hook attached to a pole. It doesn't seem to return to the shallow place where it was dropped in.

Pool cleaner that needs a clean pool to work – I was hopeful the s1pro would be a good replacement for my old zodiac cx20. In a pool with a bit of sediment and leaves that would never slow the cx20 down, the aiper would malfunction within 10 mins. The sediment and leaves go into an inlet flap in the… Read more

bottom of the collection basket. This readily begins to clog the flap pivots and it jams open. For whatever reason this then causes the Aiper to start to do wheelies or bunny hop which then makes it go in circles and fails to suck in much more material.

The jamming happens when the basket is less than 10%, sometimes less than 5% full which is terrible. By contrast the old cx20 which would keep going until the much larger basket was full to overflowing.

I went with the s1 pro over the regular scuba because of the fine particle filter. When you look at how the filter baskets are setup there is no way the fine particle filter is going to do much as there are two giant bypass channels around the sides of it. I’m pretty sure that’s just a sales gimmick. When there are fine particles on the bottom you can see clouds and small particles billowing out the top of the propellor vents which show you the filter isn’t doing what it’s supposed to.

There is absolutely no world in which this is a useful pool cleaner - it needs to be quite clean already for the pool cleaner to work, in which case you don’t need it in the first place.

Save your money and buy anything else.

OK but could definitely do with some improvements – Scuba S1 Pro & charging dock. Cordless is a big advantage, charging dock is a must...... Does a good job at picking up the large debris from your pool (leaves etc...), but the ultrafine 3 micron filter might as well not even be in there. there are 2 massive gaps either side of the fine filter that the water goes through instead of being… Read more

channelled through the filter, you can literally see the fine debris being exhausted through the machine as it travels along the bottom of the pool, also worth noting that the filter itself is a very loose fit in its holder and i had to stick some foam on the filter frame to hold it still...... Working on a plan to block off the 2 big openings either side the filter, hopefully that will improve its fine debris performance........ other than that its not a bad machine, and i've just come from a top of the line maytronics corded robot, this one seems to navigate around the pool better than the maytronics did...... no missed spots.
