Have used for around 2 years and worked perfectly. Suddenly a lot of apps were disabled and then the next thing is that the stick stopped working altogether. Turn it on and just get the Firestick start up logo. Spent hours trying everything recommended onlne, but nothing has worked. Amazon should not sell these as they appear to have a limited lifetime, so you will just fork out for a new one.
At the first I did not like user interface, though it may be subjective opinion. But, after spending 6 hours to set it up I realised it only supports very few languages. For me that was decisive point. I could not setup the additional language support in stock keyboard nor was able to install the third party one. Third party launcher was not working either. Why limit user to stock apps? st^pid. Show details
Firstly it took 3.5 hours of going around in circles to open an account so that it would work!! Next night I went to use it and it frose and would not turn on, dont listen to the good reviews as they are all AI fake reviews .. you get what you pay for and that is just an invasion of privacy by being forced into opening an account and giving them all of your personle details in the hope that it works .. it is trash and works when it wants too!! Rubbish – This is not 1080HD it's 740HD because when the TV comes on it shows you so it's B/S when they're saying full hd. No different to rubbish google stick. Nothing is free you have to pay for ever app on these B/S stick google or Amazon. Don't buy this and waste your money. Show details

only provides access to internet channels, most of which require subscription because you are not living in the USA or Canada which are exempt.
You're also required to have a valid Amazon Account for use with this device.
Don't buy the Amazon Fire Stick – Worked good for the first few months, and then just stopped working completely when the warranty is up. I called Amazon , and they said if not working, bad luck warranty is up, so you can buy another one at a 20% discount. They should give me another one, as why would I want to buy one , if they stop working when the warranty is up. Waste of money, and a waste of a 30 min phone call. Show details
Digitial Conveniance – Not having a smart TV the firestick has been brilliant in getting all the streaming services in one place for convenience. The remote is simple to use, as is the interface. The only downside I have noticed is that the 'recommendations' on each app are not accurate. I can only surmise that is because I share some streaming with other people and I… Read more
am not the primary user, as such I seem to be seeing their 'recommendations'. A small price to pay to having all apps on one device and no longer having to try and stream things from my phone.

Everything except the Play Store – My bug bear with the Amazon Fire tv standard was that you could not run apps like KAYO .The new Fire Tv 4K Max has fixed that but the most annoying thing is it still will not let Google Play onto it's platform. Damn annoying because I have racing apps that I can load into my Smart Tv but can't load into this streaming stick. You might wonder why I… Read more
use it when I have smart Tv's but the truth is, it's fast, darn fast and beats the hell out of your remote .Plus it supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10+ and 16GB of storage and it also can run on the WIFI 6E band on my wireless router which many Tv's can't., and lucky me I paid half price for it on promotion. Now, this one replaces my NVIDIA shield which cost me $248.00, which now moves onto my spare TV, the reason being that the NVIDIA is slow and flaky by comparison and at $54.00 for the Fire Tv there is no way I will ever invest in NVIDIA again , makes no sense, as this is quicker, with its only flaw being that Google Play thingy , which, is available on the NVIDIA device. One good thing about it is , it has a visual audio syncing adjustment which I have had to use because I run an External sound system and more than often the sound is out of sync . The other thing I found the sync works fine with a HDMI connection but not with a split connection of picture and sound , that is , using a HDMI and a Toslink optical cable. The sound gets out of sync on that setup and stays out of sync , so try using the HDMI ARC to carry your sound and hook the Fire Tv to a spare HDMI port on your tv and it should run with out a problem. Highly recommended at the price , buy it when Amazon have a sale or sometimes you can buy it from other retailers cheaper than you can buy it on Amazon...crazy eh ?
