powerful enough for everything she needs, from writing papers to light video editing. Battery life is great too she can go all day without needing a charge. Very happy with the gift she received.
A pretty average piece of equipment – Basic functionality issues. Bluetooth is particularly unreliable (have had the issue assessed by Apple technical support and the first unit received replaced. iTunes, only to have the app. do nothing, and having to click again. Traded in a 2017 MacBook Pro for $120, which had none of these issues. Really seems poor for any new product over $1k
Apples service is like no other – An amazing laptop that is lightweight, user-friendly, and stylish. I must admit that the reason I won't purchase a different brand of computer is Apple's service. consistently and flawlessly. It easily manages big files, and I believe that an Apple computer's lifespan surpasses that of a PC. If you are considering buying one, don't think twice.

cursor flying around, mistyping, mis-Cut & Paste etc. Pain in the butt. ALSO>> the two finger expanding of the screen size/doc. size, whatever, something I use regularly gets stuck, also a real Pain in the butt. Lack of a old style USD port also a hassle, older USB ain't going away any time soon. It has the M1 or M2 CPU, wasn't that supposed to make the battery last, like 18hrs, I'm lucky to get 6-7hrs. Some other minor issues I will add later.
Pros: Fairly light weight. Biggest screen for a MacBook Air 15" (would have preferred a 17" (Had the "MacBook Pro" 17" but it's too heavy) Huge touch screen (compared to my 13" Air). Apple make the best touch screens, quick response, accurate, the largest size I've ever used means I can zip across from corner to corner with ease. Applecare is one of the major reasons I buy Apple. Ring up anytime & you usually get the problem fixed asap. M2 Chip, claims to be multiple times faster than anything PC/Windows based Laptops. I guess the 18hrs battery life may be proof of this. Allow maybe 12-18hrs depending on usage. Purchased through Officeworks, can pick it up straight away. Way cheaper than buying throug an Apple Store if you buy a standard unit.
Cons: Why on earth did they do away with the older AIR shape, it's just smaller, lighter, more streamline, slips into my backpack so easily, looks way better. More expensive like for like with PC/Windows based Laptops. I only have the 8Gb Ram but it "might" (Not sure, can't prove it, yet) be a tad slow, haven't sorted this out as it could be my WiFi issues. I don't do gaming or graphics so I can't prove it. Not much else.
Let me be clear, I'm not an Apple Fanboy. Bought an iPhone X & it's the bigger piece of cr#p I've ever had. Not confirmed yet but apparently Apple had issues with it's Motherboard.
Excellent light weight Laptop – This is a wonderful laptop for everyday life. Very light to carry around and battery life is very good as well. accidental wire pulls. And of course it’s ery easy to snap on/off.
Only qualm I would have is learning Apple specific tricks and shortcuts if you were a Windows user. Not sure if apple has any balloon pop ups with tricks and shortcuts which makes it even harder..at-least I haven’t seen any yet.
Overall very satisfying purchase.
