I’ll be binning my Apple TV 4K devices. All Apple TV shows just continually buffer. It seems update 26.5 is the cause. Don’t expect any solution from Apple TV.
I signed up to a subscription a few months ago. Watched everything I wanted to and decided to cancel because they are very slow at adding new content. Oh my god what a run around. After about an hour of tv app and phone app and googling answers I found I had signed on with google play and could only cancel through them….. no idea how to do such… Read more
a thing and another 30 minutes later stumbled across it and managed to cancel. Extremely easy to sign up funnily, but try cancelling hahaha
7 days now, 7 day free trial did not exist, locked out after 7 hours, absolutely disgusting experience, NEVER AGAIN for any of their products. Today marks 6 days for me trying to log into my Apple account, I had about 2 months of viewing added to… Read more
the Up Next feature on the streaming service, but, their actions have assured that I will not being signing with them in the next decade or two. I have put a block on my credit card to ensure they do not take money for the next month due to the 7 day free trial only lasted 7 hours for me. Impossible to believe they have done this.
Today marks 5 days since attempting to get the 7 day free trial, still no access to my account. Their idea of a FREE TRIAL must be different to mine. They cannot convince me to buy any of their other products as this one is absolutely hopeless, I assume the rest are just as bad.
I signed for Apple+ streaming service 1 week free trial, plus the next month, provided my credit card details and other required information. MAJOR MISTAKE I made, after not signing to the advertisement that popped up for I-Tunes, I was locked out of my account and access to viewing after 7 hours. Today marks 4 days since signing with them, still no access to my account. I have now uninstalled the App on my TV and blocked their access to my credit card. I have NO reason to trust them with my personal and credit card details. They can keep their free viewing promotion as it appears to be only used to sell other services. Being locked out of my account means I cannot unsubscribe so I believe this contradicts consumer law. The extremely poor excuse they gave, via email, was due to too many attempts to sign in. They blocked viewing while I was watching a fifth episode of a series. What an insult their free trial has been. Needless unwarranted stress.
Follow-up · We had such a terrible experience with trying to access the account we would never try to stream their content ever again, also they have proved to us that all their other services are not worth the stress. It appears that you are not welcome to use this service if you do not have other products of theirs, they did not provide the free trial as advertised so how can we trust them at any time in the future. NOT WORTH THE STRESS

The overall content library is smaller compared to competitors like Netflix or Prime Video. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, but recommendations can feel limited at times. Subtitles and video quality are excellent. It’s good value if you enjoy the exclusives, but not ideal if you're looking for volume.
Apple TV works. Interface is smooth. It connects easily with other Apple devices. AirPlay is useful. The remote is small and looks modern. However, price is high compared to similar products. No USB ports. No expandable storage. Remote is easy to lose. Touchpad can be frustrating. If using other Apple devices, it makes sense. If not, other options like Roku or Fire Stick do the same job for less. It’s okay. Not bad. Not great. Show details
Apple TV - Excellent value for Money – Love the Apple TV - everybody should have one - Has so many features in one small box, Brilliant how easily it sycns with my iPhone .. " thanks Apple " for this incredible little black box.

I subscribed with a free 7-day trial, unsure if I wanted to continue. My experience was below average. I like their catalogue, but the web player is buggy and the UI is poor. There are ads when you go to start a show, and sometimes the ad shows a trailer for the show you're just about to watch (with spoilers!) I likely would have stayed subbed for… Read more
a month or two so I could finish watching Foundation.
At day 6, one day before I would be billed, my account was locked with no reason given. I submitted an application to unlock my account. About 14 hours later my account was unlocked, again no explanation, so I naturally decided to unsubscribe.
Now, when I'm trying to unsubscribe, I click 'review your subscriptions' it sends an MFA code to my email. When I complete the code, it sends me to verify my payment information. When I enter my Visa CVS, it thinks for a moment and then says it was unable to verify my information. When I try again, I have to wait for a new MFA code to email....
Will keep searching, but they certainly make it as hard as they can to unsubscribe!
Wow, this is the worst streaming service I have tried. It feels like some sort of Kafka styled journey into absurdism. I tried hard to throw my money at them to subscribe and they still didn't want it. There was a Black Friday deal which I attempted to take advantage of many days in advance. I tried logging into my account but it said it was… Read more
disabled and I needed to enable it again by going through about half a dozen steps if not more. Okay, so I did that. Then it happily said that now i can accept their offer....apart from then asking me many separate times to Accept the Offer. You click on it once only to get another box that explains the very thing that was explained before with the deal, and it asks if you want to Accept the Offer....for the umpteenth time, yes I 'Accept the Offer'. Then off we go again through half a dozen steps of back and forth before it says 'Great, just give us your payment details....but we will grey out ALL the options for all these payments that you can't make bar the credit card.
Fine, I thought, have my credit card details then. Oops, it says there is an error and contact someone. Who? No idea. Doesn't tell you who. No information on what to contact. Maybe they mean my long lost relatives? A lost tribe in the Amazon. Who knows! It is Apple - they are too busy counting their cash to care what you do or contact.
So after endless layers looking for someone to contact, I get a clueless Muppet from Apple who says something may or may not happen that may or may not fix my account in 24 hours. Wait, so are you fixing this now or not, I ask, because your offer is now has less than 24 hours left since I wasted many hours even getting this far. Oh, yes, after 24 hours you can then subscribe to the deal that has less than 24 hours left before it runs out. WTH?
So realising I am dealing with the human equivalent of a goldfish that just stares at seaweed for weeks on end, I then seek to call someone up who might get me connected to someone that knows vaguely what the eff they are doing.
Queue more wasted time looking for a hidden phone number....but I found it. Only to get a genius who seemed to barely seems listen to what I say, even after carefully laying out my issue. He only seemed to have listened to the last sentence I said. Maybe he was too busy playing on his iphone to care about what I said, don't know.
So after repeating my issue maybe five or more times, and after lots of 'no idea. Policies and procedures...mumble mumble.", finally he checks my account and says "Oh, that is weird. That shouldn't happen." It only took about 48 hours for someone from Apple to do this simple check and get that in their brain. Congratulations, mental midgets!
Then he checks Apples troubleshooting guide and states . "Oh, I asked the Apple Gods how to fix this and the automated response gave me answers to a completely different problem." Yes....welcome to the reality of dealing with Apple - you work there and only just realised now that is what they do? This is Apple's standard method of automated customer support - Have a problem? Nah, not going to listen to it, just throw unrelated answers that have nothing to do with the problem back at you.
So after wasting over two days of back and forth TRYING hard to give them money for this subscription, their answer is that our Apple Gods don't even know how to answer a simple question so you can go home and get stuffed. Bye bye.
Yep, that is the most bizarre business exchange I have ever had. Meanwhile. Netflix - subscribe, give details, done in minutes and it works. Basically any streaming service, done in minutes. And you get something to watch at the end, not just a confused toolboy who doesn't know how to live life unless Apple tells them how to do it in one of their tangential answers that answers unrelated issues.
As a post script - I have looked through the catalogue of what Apple has to offer and for the price it asks, it is not worth it. Their library is much smaller than others and despite what they claim, has a lot of mediocre quality fillers, which when your library already is so small really is plain laziness.
Not worth it, even if they did accept your money.
Limited content, and paid content hidden in the middle of included content leaves a bad impression of the service. Every episode starts with 40 seconds of ads. You need to manually start the next episode. I have also experienced the video freezing after pausing. Use the free trial or pay one month to watch the exclusive TV shows and Movies, and cancel before the renewal.

What even is the point of this pricey app? I really don’t get it, you anyway have to pay again to rent movies . And the scrolling to your favourites is impossible. Really? Never again.
Absolutely ridiculous! I have to pay for extra content when I already pay for a subscription. I understand for movies and shows that are new, but anything after a year should be included or not!! I'm over it! Like that Black Mirror episode, where you sign up for one thing, then you get ads, then you gotta pay for more, except I watched that ad free, for no extra, as part of my subscription on Netflix. Terrible lagging on our TV. I tried to mirror from my phone as it works with no issue on my phone, it shows the ad prior to the show but once the content starts the image does not appear on the screen. It seems to be intentional.
thank you – Happy to purchased here, have great experienced and easy to understand the settings of these.
Unhappy customer – Have not received tvs yet and unable to get any andwerd
Locked out of account – Got locked out of my account during free trial. Had to cancel my bank card so I would get billed after 7 days.
MUST GET – Great to have and would also recommend people to get.
Basically a scam – Signed up and they locked me out the next day. Now it's my job to call them up and try to cancel. Update: they can't cancel over the phone. I was told my account was inactive so the subscription would be automatically cancelled. The site to get the account unlocked finally worked after trying for a week on multiple devices. and my subscription was still active. So I was told incorrect information and I would have been charged when my free trial ended had I not gotten back into my account
Sub-standard streaming service – For $13 a month this supposed service is disgustingly limited! Don't bother unless you want to purchase movies or shows through Apple. It ain't worth it peeps. They barely have any shows of their own.
More rip offs – Ad free - yes. Apple exclusive shows - yes. Those shows any good? - only 2 or 3. My issue is that you play a subscription and anything decent, you have to pay again to watch it. Disney stuff is already on Disney+. Every other streaming service has the same movies. Yet they all charge a subscription amd lure you in with low grade shows foe free… Read more
amd charge you per show for the good stuff. It really makes me miss video stores. I'll wait for free to air TV to put the same movies on in 2 years. I'm not paying a subscription to then pay again to watch stuff. And Apple TV+ has less decent shows than other streaming. Just do one month only and watch the handful of only decent shows then cancel.
$15 to watch a movie!!!! – Wanted to watch a movie which was made 11 years ago, a mediocre movie at that but one I liked. Apple wanted to charge me $14.99! What a farce! Ive told the wife not to renew.

Don't waste $ on Apple TV – I've only had Macs over 30 years and have a new iMac so subscribed last week to Apple Tv but it's very disappointing. Unlike other streaming services, this won't allow me to stop, fast forward or playback and frequently freezes. It does not smoothly transition to the next episode. I'll use it this month and cancel at the end. Never again, and the… Read more
movies and series are not so good unless you want to pay another lot of dollars. There is no way to contact the service so this product review might warn others off.
Not enough content – There just really isn’t enough content to justify the price , I have no issues with the app runs well from my apple box , but I just find myself flicking through with nothing to watch , thumbs up for the lengthy free subscriptions regularly offered by apple this is very generous, hoping that one day it will be worth it’s value to me Show details
Apple TV+ The worst Company I have ever tried to comunicate with – Could not complete an Apple ID and as a result could not watch anything on TV and could not cancel a membership or comunicate with Apple. The only thing Apple is good at is taking my money. I will stop my subscription by stopping my bank from paying further weekly invoices. A very horrible and stressfull experiance. I paid $7.99 for a lot of stress.
Overpriced for a long term subscription, ridiculous UI – At one time we had a limited number of streaming services. Then producers decided that they wanted the whole pie for themselves and started pulling content from Netflix and the like to stream through their own services. If you subscribe to several services, then a few dollars here, a few there, a few elsewhere can end up being a big chunk of money… Read more
each month.
At $8 (yes, $7.99 is really $8, Apple) Apple TV+ is cheaper than Netflix ($11) or Stan ($10) and more expensive than Amazon Prime ($7). The range on Apple TV+ is far, far, FAR less than any of those as far as I can tell.
Not that it's EASY to tell, because for web browsers at least Apple gives you no index, no categories, and no search feature. You have to search for the title that you want outside of Apple TV+ then scan allll the way through the uncategorised home page and hope that you'll find it. This is a ridiculous user experience.
It may be different on Apple hardware, but I boycott that because I'm not interested in paying thousands of dollars to have the hardware manufacturer tell me what I can or can't do with my own hardware. All I can comment on is my own (browser based) experience, and it's absolutely awful.
So if it offers less content than other options, why subscribe to it at all? Original content. Almost all streaming services offer original content these days. Apple is no exception. I subscribed mainly to watch Ted Lasso after seeing a lot of its YouTube clips, and I did also want to watch the Tom Hanks movie Greyhound. There are a couple of other series that I might take a look at... but there is nothing else that really "grabs" me. Of course, it may be that there's something interesting that I haven't seen, but Apple doesn't pay me to find its content for it.
I expect that after a month or so I'll unsubscribe at least until the next season of Ted Lasso comes out, then I'll re-subscribe for a month, then unsubscribe again.
In my humble opinion, the value just isn't there to sustain a long term membership, and the lack of a search option just shows complete contempt for Apple's customer base. (But there's nothing new there.) I've rated the value for money as OK, but this is on the assumption that you turn it off when you don't need it. If you subscribed for 12 months, every year, I'd rate it as very poor indeed.
Easy to use – This product is easy to use when transferring from watching on my iphone to my tv. I enjoy being able to use the product on a daily basis with my
Free trial only – Free 1 year subscription with new iPad. Not much new content of interest. Will cancel after freebie. Shame, was so excited to trial, but lost interest quickly. Too many better value streaming services available.
Free With Phone – Works well on the new phone and hardly old Samsung TV. As it's currently zero extra it's limitations are OK. In the short term, it has enough original content to allow something for everyone here. Its streams are uninterrupted / look excellent from what I have seen thus far. Longer-term its inclusive of the monthly cost offerings are too… Read more
limited to be something I would likely keep.
The App user interface is behind the best but it's not that extensive library means who cares, IMO. Thus its main problem is that when the free year runs out I doubt I will bother renewing. I can rent/buy movies anywhere and I won't keep the app just to compare prices.
All in all, for one year it's a zero extra cost bonus with the new hardly cheap iPhone... After that period though I may sign back in now and then if something big comes up in the unlikely event I bother to check... One of those offerings that are worth a look / go but not one that will be available here very often outside of the free offer...
Waste of time and money - Advertise of the 1-year free is a total scam – I was in a family sharing group for ages but not using anything from there. Now bought a new phone with the promise of 1-year free TV plus. Opened the new phone, it never prompted up the free subscription. Apple voided the promotion because I was in the family group saying you can't buy a new phone to have the free subscription for one year every year. PUT IT ON YOUR ADs if it is not there, it's misleading.
