Arlec Wireless Door Chime DC166

I do NOT recommend this product. I've had to have it replaced twice already in a year and because the button unit is mounted with strong adhesive, you wind up with mess and/or damage at your door. Also when you eventually need to replace batteries in the button unit - good luck with that. I've tried twice on these units and both times the button unit was destroyed trying to get it open as the plastic is very poor quality. Lastly, the chime units need batteies every few months at my place, which gets expensive.
Follow-up · The receiver units have easy battery access but the transmitter (doorbell) is bordering on impossible. The design is very poor.
Purchased at Bunnings Warehouse Online Store.
Bought yesterday. Didn't work. Replacement by Bunnings is OK – With the first purchase, there seemed to be no communication between the press button unit and the chime. The chime worked with its test button, and scrolled through the multiple chime sounds. The LED on the press button lit up when pressed, and then went off, as it should. We tried to reset the wireless codes, as per the instructions, several times. Still the press button would not activate the chime. Arlec phone support ran through several test steps with us. Still no success. Arlec said take it back to Bunnings. The replacement works fine, so we have edited this review from a 1 star to a 4. Would be a 5, except for the fact of having to exchange it initially. The value for money is exceptional.
