Skin irratation – After years of using fake tans I thought I'd treat myself to the Australian gold bondi sands liquid gold with coconut scent £15 I prepared my skin as directed and applied all over, within a few hours our been dried I was very itchy, dry red an blotchy red rashes particularly on the forearms legs and ankles. To my disappointment hardly a sun… Read more

kissed tan look hardly no change in my tan either. Very dissapointed, the irritation lasted the week , I was constantly applying a medicated dry skin moisturiser to soothe my irrated dry skin Was not worth the money

My Holy Grail – For preference, I am Filipina and have a light-medium, neutral yellow olive tone. I am obsessed with this dry oil tanner! I have the Gradual Tanning Oil, and this one, but I do prefer this one better. This one has a very slight, medium brown colour guide that quickly fades into your skin and isn’t anything too noticeable, whereas the Gradual… Read more

Tanning Oil is clear. Results are pretty quick, waking up to a beautiful tan the following day. It isn’t so orange toned that it’s noticeable, but it does lean a TINY SMIDGEN BIT orangey. Again, not noticeable on my skin tone. It makes me feel slightly sticky for about an hr, but nothing my hairdryer, on cool mode, can’t fix. I do however wonder why I sometimes get slightly itchy? Upon reading the reviews, I now realise it might well be because of this oil. I’ve never broken out into rashes or been horribly itchy. It’s hardly noticeable, but sometimes, I do feel more dry and itchy after using this Liquid Gold dry oil. I probably would not recommend it for those with sensitive skin. I make sure to moisturise everyday, as you should be whilst fake tanning. The smell is great at first, very sweet coconut. I can’t really smell the fake tan on me once the coconut scent fades, but my children can and they can’t stand it. Compared to other tanners, the scent is barely anything to complain about and mind you, my senses have been heightened the past 7-8 months. I find this dry oil very easy to apply - I use gloves and the Bondi Sands back applicator. It fades naturally and evenly and comes off in one wash! Unless this is causing any health concerns or negative reactions, I’m going to say it is my holy grail for self tanning!!! I do recommend it and I will continue to repurchase. Wish it came im a bigger bottle like the gradual tanning oil (exact same bottle and look but this one is the one in the smaller bottle).

Great colour – My all times favourite tan has been discontinued and I can’t say this is better...... but It’s one of my favourites. I first saw this colour on someone else and thought it looked amazing. It’s a spray on that dries fairly quickly unlike some tans where I’m sticky for hours. The colour is on the golden side so if you’re looking for a brown or… Read more

green undertones this isn’t it. You definitely have to be more diligent on dry areas like elbows, knees, wrists and feet. It did take a few tries to finally get these areas right with this tan. I get a wet cloth and wipe those areas and moisturise over the top. The tan fades off nicely and not patchy and looks even better if you moisturise everyday and look after it. The bottle also lasts so it’s good value for money. Definitely a staple item for me. I have finally found a few tans that I’m happy with after years of searching after my holy grail was discontinued..... and this is definitely one of them.

Not for people with sensitive skin! – The application was easy & I enjoyed the color, however both my little one & I (I didn’t apply it on her but she’s near me often) broke out in a rash. If you have a baby/toddler that likes to snuggle or you have sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend it. Show details

Quite Impressed – I have very fair skin and have tried various self-tanning products with no success. I saw the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold featured as the number 1 recommended self-tanning product in a magazine, and after reading a few reviews, I thought I'd give it a go. A nice natural looking tan is what I was after, and it delivered. Easy to apply (I use the… Read more

mitt), just go easy on dry skin areas.

The only minor negatives for me is it takes a while to dry (about 2 hours) and can feel a little sticky. The smell when applied is quite pleasant although I find that as it develops, it changes a little and gets stronger. In saying that, it's a small price to pay for great colour.

I will absolutely keep using it!!

1 hr still sticky & Developed orange – Bought the foam. Develops very bright orange & dark stained elbows, knees or anywhere slightly dry skin. No guide color but it doesn't stain clothes. Takes ages to dry and feels very sticky & uncomfortable & strong coconut smell but not the fake tan smell. Stays on for a week but just the orange color let's it down unfortunately & drying time. I have fair skin. Have used most tanning products. 10 mins to apply An hour approximately to dry Show details

Dries skin – The color was amazing and I received many compliments, however I have really dry skin and this product dried it out even more, I was itchy and my skin felt very uncomfortable. I will have to go back to the normal Bondi Sands tan as the Liquid Gold doesn't work well with my skin. Show details

It actually works! – When I first bought this I did not think it worked at all, but after a rushed application and leaving areas undone, I could definitely see a difference between my skin colour. It is much lighter than actually tanning obviously, but does add nicely on top of fake tan to keep it from looking splotchy. Has a very strong smell however which can be… Read more

annoying, and can sometimes take a while to dry so avoid wearing light coloured clothes but it does totally work! If possible I might've given this a 3.5 rating just because it really does work but its just the smell and the drying which bring it down. It's also really quick to apply but definitely use a mitt! It's just the drying time which is a tad annoying. It also doesn't develop straight away so it can be hard to see a difference but just be patient and it will be there. Also, it can be a bit hard to see where you have applied it because your skin kind of absorbs it so just be sure to be thorough.

Ok but takes a while to dry – Applying wasn’t bad but definitely had to be careful around the knees and elbows, so the tan would be even. Drying took ages, maybe around 2hrs. The tan turns out good but the mousse is definitely quicker and easier to use.

Turned Green after use – After trying this product, my skin turned Green. This is the second time i used it, as I thought maybe i did something wrong the first time. I followed instructions on the bottle, but my skin, still turned Green. I was mortified. I could not go out until the Green faded which took 2 days and 2 showers. Would not recommend it. Also, it does stain your sheets and clothes, regardless what the bottle says. it does stain.

Game changer! – As a religious fake tanner (1-2 times a week) I can’t believe I haven’t discovered this sooner. It has a very light non offensive smell and dries very quickly so you don’t have wait too long before getting dressed. It has a light non sticky feel so you don’t feel gross. Best of all it does not stain bed sheets or clothes. The colour seems green… Read more

based and gives a nice golden colour. Very easy to rub in with a mit and not streaky. It fades nicely and doesn’t go patchy. Seriously the best fake tan product I’ve ever used!!!

Difficult to apply – The spray bottle is messy and the colour is not natural at all. There’s definitely better products in the market. I have had to scrub the bathroom clean after using this product as it went everywhere and nearly stained the bath.

The mousse is way better – I have always loved the Bondi Sands mousse but decided to try this for something different. I am glad it was on special when I bought it because I won't be using it again! It was messy to use - lots of residual spray (had to stand in the shower to save my bathroom!). I found it difficult to spray in some areas of your body because you have to hold… Read more

the bottle upright when spraying (i.e hard to do that back of your legs etc). I also found you need to use A LOT to get the same level of colour as the mousse (used 1/4 of the bottle just doing my legs, arms and chest). It says on the bottle that it is instant and you can dress & go out as normal. I wouldn't recommend this as it still has a fake tan smell and feels a little sticky. As for the colour, it could be my imagination but it seems orangey. I will stick with the mousse thanks.

Ahh mazing – I've always used the bondi sand dark tanning foam but thought I've give the liquid gold a go. It comes in a stylish black and gold bottle, with a convenient pump. Must apply with the bondi sand tanning mitt as it stains easily. The tan was streak free, fast drying and smelt amazing. Nil organizeness. It gave a nice natural looking tan in less than 15 minutes. The tan lasted approx 5 days, and no shower was required after applying.

Caused a bad skin reaction!! – Never had a skin reaction to a tanning product before but I used Bondi Sands liquid gold and broke out in a terrible rash all over my body! So disappointed as I was really looking forward to trying this product, won't be using again.

Good product to start out with – I do like the Bondi Sands range of products. The Liquid Gold spray is good but I think I was expecting a little bit more after reading the blurb on the bottle. Definitely exfoliate, that is a must. If you have dry knees, elbows it will show up once the colour develops. The colour is fantastic and doesn't look majorly orange if your skin tone is… Read more

light.

I guess my issue is that the bottle claims you can just get dressed and go. I haven't found that. I've used the product quite a bit now and no matter how little of the product i use my skin feels "tacky" for quite a while afterwards.

I wouldn't recommend doing it before bed. I've done that before and even though it leaves no residue on the bedsheets I felt like I was sticking to the sheets because my skin felt almost sweaty after applying the oil.

Price wise it is very reasonable.

Just Perfect! – I have tried several lotions to fake my tan and I would have to say that Bondi Sands did not disappoint! I love the smell, and the price, too!! Give it a try!! I'm sure you'll love it too, especially if you really want something that will give you that tan you wanted to flaunt!

Wonderful product, awesome fragrance – Great go to self tanning oil. Goes on as a liquid and dries before your eyes. It's got a great spray pump application, pleasant smell and you can dress immediately. This tan lasts quite long too and doesn't go patchy! It just fades like a natural sun tan. Well done Bondi Sands, another great product. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I feel as though the packaging/bottle could be a bit bigger.

Doesn't go yellow or orange – I have very fair skin and most self tanners are too yellow or orange on me, I tried this as it was on sale at Priceline at a great price. It sprays on like a light mist even though its an oil but its a dry oil so its not greasy , its tinted so you can see if you have missed any areas and has a light and subtle coconut smell that doesn't smell… Read more

terrible like some of the tanners.

It dries fairly quickly but you don't see the real colour come out for several hours and I really like the colour as it seems more green based, which for someone like me it means you don't get that fake orange or yellow look. I had no streaking and it didn't go blotchy either. It fades away and doesn't flake or go a weird colour so I was really impressed. It didn't stain my clothes or sheets but you do need to go lightly on feet ,ankles and elbows, I just put body cream on those areas first.

A little goes a long way and one bottle will last me the whole summer so good value for money.
