A great machine for the price – I love this machine! Really easy to use and the change over of the bobbin and threading is super quick and easy. Definitely recommend

Basically good but disappointing on some vital important elements – Basically sews well but poorly designed. Perhaps it is because of the cheaper price but I would have paid more but nothing was offered. Issues: No case for storage No light that works so you can thread. Very hard to see bobbin and needle. (Machine MUST be switched off to thread and yet light only works when switched on?) Accessory container just snaps on and off so all accessories fall out all over the place. Should be swivel out. Screwdriver required to change needle. Should be able to do this tight enough without a special screwdriver. Other machines do. Bobbin case NOT front opening so very hard to see what you are doing. (No room to stick your head in to look anyway). Cannot manually choose stitch length independently of stitch type. You must pick a default option. Hope this is helpful. If I had known these things I would not have purchased. I will get used to it but not user friendly.

Purchased in for $275.

Good once you get the users to read the instructions – We bought this model for our daughter to do home projects. The initial experience was disastrous. After a thorough review of what we were doing the machine now works well and produces good results. The thread changeover is no too fiddly.

This is a good product – I purchased this one for the colleagues who work in the Laundry. They confrimed that this is really nice and can sew some thicker stuff. They like it. Confirmed if they need more. they will order this one again. By the way the price is ok as well. Thanks. Frank

Great machine, excellent for any skill level – The Brother JV1400 is a very reasonably priced sewing machine. I’ve had it for a week and I am very happy with it. It comes with an instructional DVD and is very, very easy to use. I highly recommend it whether you’re doing repairs or making new clothes.
