Canon Pixma MG3660

Sadly so unreliable it's next to useless – Bought mine as it was red and went with my office. Took an age to set up and the set up itself is about as complex as it could be made to be. Very unreliable and comes up with error messages all the time. Inks cost a fortune & don't last for very long and the latest is it doesn't recognise A4 paper. Overall I can't imagine I'll be buying anything else from Canon. My old HP has it's moments but it was cheap, uses cheap inks and works. The Canon sends endless messages saying it has a problem, I go to the see what's wrong & half the time it's printed the rest it'll have chewed up a pile of paper & jammed or some other fault. My advice is go for a machine with a screen and that can be set up via cable and not repeatedly having to press buttons in to achieve set up. In the old days you could at least hard wire computers and printers. WiFi is great when the printer works but when it doesn't...

Great printer for the money – Had to quickly purchase a printer for our home office when our Epson printer died all of a sudden. Raced into the local post office and walked out with this printer. Wasn't sure what to expect as the price was so reasonable compared to the Epson that had just stopped working and also after reading some of the other less that glowing reviews by other users. Have to say, so far so good. Easy to set up and install the software. Did take a bit of time but that not unusual considering our crappy internet speeds here. The app that you can download to print from a phone or tablet is simple and straightforward to follow. The print outs are good for what I need and the best part. The replacement cartridges are half the price of what I was used to. A BIG bonus. My only negative would be that the quality of the photo printing isn't as good as I was used to but I can live with that. All in all very happy with this unit so far.

Absolutely by far the worst thing Ive ever owned. I don't know how other people give this piece of cr#p anything more then a 1 star! No matter what I do it just will not connect to any network. The instruction manual is completely useless and so is a quick internet search. Tells me how to set it up only to not work at all. Complete trash I… Read more
wouldn't even call it a printer call it a red brick that's completely irrelevant only thing it does do is take up space. I don't even want to put this heaps of cr#p out in the street and give someone else the burden of owning something so cr#p. Canon if you produce cr#p like this then I'll never ever purchase anything with your name on it.
Worst printer I have ever owned. Worked for 2 months then would not accept paper. Error constantly flashing. Refused to print. Very complex to problem solve. Impossible Bought new ink just to try and resolve, didn’t make a difference. Don’t buy this product. I am returning it tomorrow Show details
Do not buy this printer. Most useless thing ever. Won’t connect to wifi . Malfunction light comes up all the time. Three hours + of my life that I won’t get back while trying to sort it out . Ended up returning it, although I just felt like tossing it in the bin . Someone else was returning one at same time with the same issue. It’s a truly horrible little printer. Show details

Redefining a potentially bad rap – Pros: Inexpensive Relatively easy to set up - took me 10 mins to establish WiFi Connection. Wireless - no cords or cables Good quality Printer/Copier Good features including time adjustable Auto Shut Down (save power and recommended by Cannon) and multi functional cleaning features. Quiet mode to reduce noise. Quality Scan features with the… Read more
proviso of photo scanning may require setting adjustments for optimal results (too saturated for my liking) but adjustable through settings. Cons: Not suitable for Novice users. Like all Printers sold today the initial ink supply will run out rapidly and replacement inks can be expensive. Scanning Photos may need third party software to achieve best results. Overall: Hard to beat for the price.
Do not buy – Bought printer used for 2 weeks, paper continually jammed, double printed, would not print envelopes and finally jammed altogether. they will not refund, do not buy Show details

I purchased the Canon refillable ink tank printer, because I wanted durability, reliability, eco-friendly and cost efficiency with cheaper replacement ink costs over time. The Canon printer was expensive to buy ($560), but I thought I would save… Read more
money over time - My mistake. Printer has only lasted 2 years and 6 months and unfortunately, has only 12 months warranty. For $560, I expect a minimal of 5 years reliability. Many of the cheaper printers with replacement ink that I have bought have provided more durable. Printer no longer prints two of the four colours. Utilities/Maintenance Cleaning and Nozzle does not fix the problem. Positives: The print quality in monochrome and colour is great for documents on printer paper. I can't speak to the quality of printing photos on photo paper because I haven't used that function. I haven't had to purchase any replacement ink since May 2023 making the printer cheap to run. I like the top loading of paper. Top loading makes it easy to switch between recycled paper and new paper. Negative: Scanner quality is fair for documents. Scanning of photos is poor. Performance: The features and controls are easy to use. The Canon Print app is good and user friendly. Connecting to printer wirelessly is good and user friendly.
Follow-up · In the first 12 months, I used the printer daily, but in the last 12 months only 3-4 times a month. I don't know if running a nozzle clean one a month would have helped prevent the blockage. The print settings I used were standard, not ink saving. I used genuine Canon ink.

Excellent, well priced printer from Kmart – So many negative reviews...I'm not sure if some people actually realized what they were buying, or if its user error. I bought this in store at Kmart (against advice online), but I couldn't afford to spring for the more expensive one, and to be fair all of the products on offer had sub-par reviews. So I took the risk, and I am glad I did. For $69,… Read more
I have walked away with a decent printer/scanner/photocopier all wrapped up in a nice-looking package. I went through the steps in the user guide, and within about half an hour I was set up. Ok the user manual could do with some work (and there are 2 you need to cross between), but with careful reading, it was easy enough to work out and I didn't have to tear out my hair to do it. I am set up as wireless and it hasn't missed a beat whether I send from my laptop to printer to print, or scan and send back to my laptop. For photocopy, just lay your doc down and press the "colour" or "black" button on the machine itself. Easy and all functions are virtually automatic. I don't have to do anything except select the mode. As for print quality, black has some lines but that's pretty normal for black, all other colours so far are very smoothly finished. Paper seems to feed through just fine and hasn't jammed yet. Where people are having trouble is the fact the usb to printer cable is not included, bit daft of Cannon really to do that but I appreciate most things these days have a wireless function. So, if your computer device you plan to print from is not wireless compatible, or you don't have internet then no, this is not going to work for you without purchasing the cable. Similarly, if your internet is rubbish, you may need to be more patient with set up and future connections. If that's the case, just get a wired printer or buy the compatible usb (cant use a standard usb to usb, the printer side is a weird looking square so check its compatible before you buy one).
Save Yourself the Hassle – I purchased this printer/scanner at the beginning of the pandemic so I could print and scan from home as a teacher. The printing function is so poor it is almost unusable. The paper jams for no apparent reason all the time. It also will sometimes print half pages then say it can no longer connect. It also will print half of a document on one page,… Read more
spit the rest of the paper out, then print the second half on a separate page before saying it's jammed. The scanner function works better, which is good because I need to scan in readings and assignments for students frequently. However, the scanner itself takes a very long time to scan each page, so if I'm scanning a reading that is 5 pages long, it usually takes me 10-15 minutes to do this.
You should also know that the ink runs out very quickly. The one I purchased came with ink and it ran out after printing about 20 pages. I now only use the printer function for dire emergencies because the ink is expensive to buy.
This is the easiest printer I have ever had to set up to connect to 3 computers all WIFI – I have had this Cannon MG3660 colour inkjet printer/scanner for about 6 months. I am 70 years old and many printers and other computer related items can be very difficult for Me, but I have found this Canon Printer which is coloured a beautiful RED colour works just fine and prints what ever I want to print. It wasn't expensive either, and was on… Read more
special at BIG W .. It prints excellent in black or in colours... I also have a colour Laser printer but I have found I am preferring using the Canon MG3660 for single sheets of accounts and bills etc. Printed in colour.. I have never had a paper jam or any other printer problem... My first Canon inkjet printer and I love it.... it prints what I tell it every time.... very clear in colour or just black printing.... The controls on top are very easy to use too... no problems anywhere... I don't know why there are so many bad reports on this great CANON MG3660... RECOMMENDED BY ME... BUGBUYER LEE

Value for $69 – Purchased this printer from Kmart today, spent some time on set up. I eventually realised that it could not connect to 5G so also set up lesser connection on modem. Then set up no problem. Print results good. A bit noisy but for $69 one can't be too fussy. Show details

Excllent products – I have purchased three major items from Kogan and they have been excellent and I have not had any problems with my TV, Washing machine and printer. Show details
Excellent Printer for the value – Bought from Big W on discount. Print quality is good on plain paper not yet tested on photo paper. Auto duplex is a welcome premium feature that found its way down to this budget model. Ink is depleted substantially quicker than my old Epson TX550 but bearable. It's biggest downfall is definitely its difficulty of traditional set up via PC. If… Read more
initial setup is performed over iOS/Android then retrospectively managed on PC it is a breeze to use.
However I must point out that the set up difficulty is on par with all network printers, ie none are user friendly. For all the reviews complaining about the network setup maybe its time to brush up on your computer knowledge or just use the USB cable.

Its been sitting on the table for weeks and I will box it back up and return! On install, I went onto the Canon official website chat and was notified Id be called! 3mins later I had a call from this Perth(Ha) no 08 6288 9567 on 20/12/2025. Foolishly in a Xmas and widow haze I foolish downloaded supremo software and as he became more suspicious,… Read more
I pulled out! Only to get the usual 'call centre reprimand and abuse!! Since then I have been trying to contact Canon in Australia for some type of discourse with no luck and off shore call centre responses I no longer trust! My canon will be reboxed and returned to Big W for a refund! I will purchase or trust canon for service or any type of business!
Instructions are the normal basic. I had just upgraded from a TS 5160 4 G modem but the new 5G would not recognize the new router. After spending a wasted half a day I finally rang Canon for assistance. I found out that without the extra expertise it would never have connected. I had to go between pressing printer buttons then router buttons to… Read more
finally connect the two. So far printing is good. I only wanted a two tank version not a 5 tank. At the end of a long morning I am now satisfied.
So hard to install..menu windows so small hard to read..when connecting to computer took so long and won't save scans to where you want it ..it saves to where it wants ..wont save shortcut to desktop and the colour when printing is shocking very dull..uses heeps of ink compared to last Canon printer Show details

Useless Canon Printer – My new Canon printer wont work on a Windows 11 Snapdragon computer. I asked Cannon to help me connect it to my computer and they said Windows provide the drivers. I asked Microsoft to help me connect it to my computer and they said the drivers they provide come from Canon. I asked Canon again to help me and they now said they don't support… Read more
Snapdragon based computers, it is running Windows 11 fine and runs everything else fine. There was nothing on the box to say this when I bought it. It said runs on all Windows computers. I have a brand new Canon printer that is useless to me and Canon won't help.
Awful printer and very noisy – Wish I had read the negative Reviews before I purchased. Has to be the worst Printer I have ever had - and I've had a few. Connectivity problems; paper jamming problems; Printing problems; Trying to get support is another issue. So dissatisfied, wasted so many hours of my life trying to just print or connect to wifi. Don't buy! Show details
Not even a good paper weight – No stars if I could! Bought yesterday from Big W and spent over 3 hours trying to get it wirelessly set up. What a joke. Even resorted to Google and my 22 y.o son who had no better success than myself. Im no internet incompetent and have set up other brands in the blink of an eye. Save yourself angst and stay right away from Canon printers. Show details
Worst Printer money can buy – Not much more to add to the other reviews here other than it is easily the worst printer I have ever owned. Could be because I am on a Mac and I cannot test with Windows, but this printer refuses to reliably print or scan. I spent hours trying to get it to work I thas an IP address, is accessible on my network just refuses to work reliably. My Mac even says printer is online and idle. Show details

I hate this printer – Printer is awkwardly aligned with paper going in at front and print cartridges difficult to insert. Took much longer to set up than previous printers and has error numbers that you can only ring canon for not exhaust a list of common errors and it rarely prints because there is always an error even if it’s your low on coloured ink and trying to print a black and white copy. Canon has taken another step backward in my opinion. Show details
Waste of money, impossible to setup, no scanner, Canon manual useless – I have never had a printer so difficult to set up. Tried 4 times by WIFI, gave up and connected the cable, it says it's installed but it won't print, the scanner says it's not connected, and the Canon manual is useless. What a waste of money, I have spent 2 hours trying to get this to work and I'm giving up, this brand new printer will have to go… Read more
straight to the garbage bin and I'll go back to a HP. Shame on you, Canon, nothing should be this difficult!
Worst Ever Printer Highly Not Recommended – This printer is incredibly frustrating to install. It doesn't come with a network cable, so wireless installation is the only option. After spending 2 hours troubleshooting, the printer still isn't detected on the network. Very disappointed with the experience so far. Show details
Terrible!! – No stars if I could! Unable to review! Paper jammed on first use & I was unable to open the machine to properly remove ALL the paper. Can't use it. Not worth repairing. Money wasted. Do not recommend this printer at all. Show details
Worst printer ever purchased – This printer is honestly the biggest waste of space and worst purchase I've ever made. I think it has successfully printed about 3 pages. It always errors, refuses to connect, print etc. Do not purchase this product ever. The only use it has is taking out lifes frustrations with a hammer.
CRAP printer will not install to WiFi – Peripherals these days should be easy as to install. This CanonMG3660 is hopeless. It simply refuses to find the network. Op System - Windows 11, NBN broadband with Netcomm router. Simply will not isntall. CRAP ! Show details
Wasn't worth the money – It was noisy and although I had it for some months eventually it just died. I replaced the ink as I thought that was the issue but no it still wouldn't work. So after spending $$ on cartridges for a dead printer I had no choice but to throw it away...don't buy one Show details
Good printer but a pain to install - Win 11 – I bought this printer about 5 days ago from KMart, Yamanto. I got it up and running after installing and uninstalling and reinstalling a few times. Eventually after a few attempts I got it to print, scan and copy over our home network. Was just a matter of persevering until at last, success. Not intuitive at all, unlike other home printers we… Read more
have had. My first Canon so perhaps that's the reason why it was so tricky to set up. I have been retired a few years and not for the first time I wished I had an IT person to call on for help. Got it in the end though.
