I have four Cheeki Insulated mugs (3 x regular and 1 x large) Started out great, kept my drinks hot etc. But, within no time, the seals kept twisting, the push button didn't close properly resulting in leaking cups. This is extremely unsafe with hot liquids. Each of my family members have these cups and I am now looking at replacing with a more trusted brand. Cheeki - go back to the drawing board and make your insulated cups safe!
Cheek I have gone down hill – They used to be a good product as I loved the first one I owned. These new mugs though are rubbish and the seals leak and are dangerous for storing hot liquids. They should be ashamed of letting their product become this rubbish.
Disappointed – I purchased the 350ml cheeki triple insulated coffee mug. The product description said that it keeps SERIOUSLY hot for up to 8 hours. I was very disappointed to get a barely luke warm coffee after 6 and a half hours. Definately was'nt worth the price I paid for it and would'nt reccomend it. Show details
Cheeki: The Best Coffee Mugs and the Best Service – We've been using these fantastic, Australian designed and made, double insulated Cheeki Coffee Mugs for a few years now. They're GREAT... they keep your drink hot or cold for longer and don't leak! I recently wanted to order a few more (as a unique Australian present for my sister and family that are visiting from Holland), and ordered directly… Read more
from cheeki.au. They had specials on plus free shipping over $99. I needed some help applying the discount code and had great help from Elisha at their customer service. The order arrived promptly - only to find that I'd ordered the wrong ones: we needed the 450ml, not the 350ml. Again Elisha came to the rescue - she cheerfully helped get the correct order through and made sure it was shipped. I only just paid the difference so don't have them yet, but I have no doubt at all that they'll arrive in perfect order.
Disappointing – Had one for years was very happy with it but lost it 12 months ago bought two new ones , can not stop them leaking no matter how tight I do the top up , cost me $90 for two but going to throw them out Show details
Get a Yeti – We have had two of these one avocado one and one straight black and within two weeks one of the lids thread was threaded because you have to pull them apart to clean them.properly otherwise there is rotten coffee in the lids. Now the other ones now broken too that lasted 6 months. What an absolute waste of money. Have had cheaper cups last longer. Show details
Lid jams – You have to take the lid to pieces after every use. I only had mine for about 10 uses before the lid jammed and won't lock, or if I lock it, it won't undo. Would not purchase again.. way too expensive for that kind of issue. Show details
Disappointed…used to be great! – I first bought a cheeky mug for myself and my husband from IGA despite being quite pricey. They were so awesome I bought another two for my kids. No issues, could put the cups in my beach bag/take anywhere, no leaks. Problem arose when I bought the newer models in Watercolour pattern online from The Natural City on EBay (I bought 4, three as… Read more
presents for my sisters and sister-in-law and one for myself). My sister’s lid leaked and mine had a loose tiny silicone ring which I couldn’t fit back in. I received a replacement lid for mine which I was grateful for but it leaked (I figured I’d just use it anyway, being careful not to tip it sideways) but now it won’t even screw together properly and open/close. Why did they change their original lid design/manufacture? Won’t risk buying them anymore unfortunately. :(

Garbage products. Those lids!!! – We've had multiple types of mugs from Cheeki over the years and only one of them is still in a usable state, which is the taller version they do with a flip top cap on the lid. The rest of their range is total garbage. The powder coat or paint they use couldn't stand up to a light haze from a sprinkler. It starts shedding within months. They 3ven… Read more
sent me a replacement with some new coating on a while back and that too has started to peal. All those little flakes of paint or plastic coating undoubtedly going down to drain. Very environmentally UNfriendly in my opinion.
Their standard shaped mug would fall over if an ant sneezed on it so it's really only worth keeping it in a cup holder. But it's usually smaller than most of them so it wobbles around too much. They just can't get it right can they?
Anyone reading this has undoubtedly seen all the negative comments about their popup lids. They are pathetic! Literally unfit for purpose. Which is kind of a clincher for this product and I bet Cheeki know it.
I'd say you get what you pay for their prices aren't that cheap. Not compared to cups that are designed twice as good at half the price.
They are a waste of money. Just avoid them and get something better.
Cheeki Lids Malfunction – I have bought Cheeki mugs since 2016 and they were great. I loved them and bought at least 10 for family and work colleagues. Last year 2022, I bought 3 and discovered there was a problem with the lids. The lids on all of them malfunctioned 2 of which I had given away as gifts. I sent an email to Cheeki explaining my problem. I was required to… Read more
outline the problem with photo's. I was asked to photo/video the problem, outline the issue and provide proof of purchase. Unfortunately the 2 gifted ones, the recipients didn't want to bother. In my mind. Cheeki could see I'd bought quite a few cups over the years without an issue and this was a hassle. I bought all but my first cup from their website. As they are very expensive I doubt I will purchase them again.
Poor quality lids – Loved old cheeki coffee mugs. Purchased two larger ones. Then sadly disappointed with the lids. They jam open and will not close. Have tried purchasing new lids, but they are as bad. Show details
Look it's a decent mug but I've had to replace the lid 3 times – Unfortunately 3 times I've had to replace the lid. Once because it got stuck. Another time the flimpsy plastic piece broke. And then it happened again. I gave up. Not very sustainable. I gave one of them to my dad and the same thing happened. Show details
Terrible lid – For a $45 mug that is supposed to help cut down on plastic pollution, you think they'd have designed a less faulty lid. Have only had it for 3 months and have already gone through 2 lids as the pop mechanism no longer works. Their old mugs and lids were much better. Stay away from this new pop top crap or go to ALDI. Perfect can't live without – Fabulous coffee cup, keeps coffee hot for hours. I'm a nurse and not often get to drink beverages hot, so appreciate this item. Seals went after many years, renewed with ease and cheaply. Seals received within a few days. Highly recommend this product. Show details
best leak proof mug on the market – Bought this online from Biome store. Love the mug and honestly its the best leak proof mug on the market. Not so cheap but the investment is worth it. Show details
Mug is great, lid is not and renders mug useless – I own three of these, all with the pop-up lids. They each cost around $40. One is a couple of years old and has been rarely used until recently, the other two were purchased in August 2021. The mugs work really well to keep hot drinks hot over a number of hours. The problem is the lids. Two of mine (including one of the newer ones) have become… Read more
stuck in the closed/sealed position and cannot be fixed. One is the older style where the lid cannot be disassembled for cleaning, while the other is the newer style where the lid can be taken apart. The third lid (new style) is also starting to stick. The mugs have a lifetime warranty, the lids do not. When I contacted the company about my faulty lids their only solution was to point out the 3 month warranty (hence there is a known defect) and provide me the link to buy more. For a company whose stated mission is to reduce plastic pollution by supplying a lifetime solution, this is nonsense. My very cheap Aldi insulated mugs work just as well and the lid has no moving parts. I cannot recommend the expensive Cheeki mugs. I note on their website there is another review (not mine) regarding the faulty lids.
Second lid replacement in 2 months – I bought this mug from Biome and within a few weeks the silicone ring came off and I couldn’t get it back on. So Cheeki sent a replacement lid. Two months later the top part of the lid broke and I can’t get the bottom part out. It’s basically useless. I have to say to clean it is terrible. It’s so hard to get to parts of the lid to get the coffee… Read more
out of. You basically have to either get a tiny brush to get into the lid of soak it for hours after each use. And it really doesn’t stay hot for hours as stated. And I even put hot water in it to warm it up before I make my coffee. I am not impressed and wouldn’t recommend spending the money on it.
Way too hard to clean. Poor customer service – The lid needs to come apart into 6 pieces (not 3 as advertised) to clean each time it's used, and the main part has areas inaccessible. The customer service was copy/paste style responses and didn't make sense in english Show details
worst stainless steel coffee cup – After a few uses, the cup started leaking from the bottom, the lid is not spill proof, coffee spills everywhere, temperature does not stay hot for long, customer service keeps asking for pictures and videos of the leak so you will give up
Breaks easily – Broke the second time I used it. I am a 40 something peri-menopausal woman of generous size. I am not strong. Twisted the pin to remove to pop top and the screw in bit snapped. Total waste of money.
Happy with purchase – Keeps drink hot enough for when I go on my break. Easier to clean than other products on the market. Great choice of colours to choose from. Cup is easy to hold and drink out of. Happy with this purchase. Show details
The best! – I am an avid fan of my Cheeki mug. I have been using it for years and it has kept my tea beautifully. It is a much better design than the other cups. The name tag had rubbed off and I have been looking for another one just in case I lost my prized possession. I found one thankfully and now know the name...Cheeki. Show details

false advertising – My cheeki coffee mug does not keep my coffee hot for 12 hours as it advertises. Not 6hrs, not 4 hrs. Two hours after making my black coffee in it is is only a warm temperature. Disappointed customer, false advertising. Show details
Terrible product – I bought this cup with the understanding it kept liquid hot up to 12 hrs I made coffee at 7.30am for a 10.30am break and it was barely warm so I tried it again the next day with just boiling water once again you certainly would make coffee from it. Save your money
Burned mouth and spills everywhere – First of all yes this keeps your coffee hot and cool on the outside which is of course great HOWEVER the cool touch is misleading as you pour burning liquid (I did say it keeps it HOT - too hot maybe?) into your mouth and i say pour as it has such a wide pour so unless you've got a mouth like the dartford tunnel you're going to miss. I recommend a… Read more
trial run at home with weak tea - not a packed train with coffee while wearing a white top. The pour is designed for the entire width of the lid - i think this speaks for itself.
Love my cheeki mug – My husband has been using one for the last 7 years ( Don't remember exactly) and it has been great. It still looks great and is in use every morning. Recently I accidentally dropped his cup and the lid had a massive crack in it. It was unusable. Then I was delighted to find that I could buy a new replacement lid for it and ordered myself a cup as… Read more
well. It's a great product and since I have it it has been used almost every day. The spill proof lid is, when closed, not leaking any fluid. I like that the lids design allows you to drink from any side of the lid and it keeps the tea/coffee very hot for a long time. I also have been cleaning my cup in the dishwasher occassionally without problems, so no funky smells. Although the colour suffered quiet a bit, but that is minor and doesn't effect the function of the cup.
Excellent product – I have been using one of these for about five years, keeps coffee hot, the lid, with its spring loaded snap shut design works perfectly. .its the sort of mug you can drop and not worry about leaks. Excellent product.
LEAKS and LEAKS!! And COLD COFFEE!! – I am very disappointed with this cup. Especially because of the hefty price tag. I found it to leak very badly at the seal, and it didn't keep the coffee as hot as even a normal over the counter cup. It just appears to be bad design and it now lives at the back of the cupboard.
Four years and still going strong – I use this mug 5 days a week. I run it through the dishwasher which is slowly eroding the gorgeous floral design but really, for a zero waste option, look no further. I love how my coffee tastes in it too but I do prefer drinking directly from the mug rather than through the plastic lid. Update September 2016 5 years? and still awesome The… Read more
plastic button on the lid stopped working. Not sure why. Doesn't affect my use though as I drink from the steel vessel as mentioned above.
I like it I like it – After reading the previous reviews I decided to buy one for myself, have been using it only for a few days but I am already a big fan. Keeps it hot for atleast 4 hours. I normally finish my coffee way before 4 hours so I do not know what is the max time limit it would hold the heat. Highly Recommended.
Great reuseable mug – I have been using this mug for a couple of months now, and am overall very happy with my purchase. Keeps coffee nice and hot while I drink it slowly (must remember to pop the lid closed to keep the heat in thought). Sits in my car's cup holders no probs. Does not affect the taste of my coffee. Stainless steel, so a bit tougher than my old… Read more · 3
Gloria Jean's plastic reusable mug which broke when I dropped it.
The only thing I could say that is a bit of a pain is the cleaning. I struggled to get the stinky stale milk smell out so I emailed Cheeki for suggestions. They got back to me the next day, and suggested soaking in hot water with bi-carb. They also unofficially recommended popping the lid in the dishwasher every few days to keep it fresh. I don't do the hot water/bi-carb. I just rinse it out straight after use, then pop the lid in the dishwasher and no more smells. Cheeki also sell replacement lids, so if I do happen to wreck it from putting it in the dishwasher too much I will buy a new one - hopefully not! Keeps coffee hot, energy efficient, coffee tastes good, stainless steel
Lazy teetotaler – Excellent thermal abilities and tough only downside is they hold a small residue and if you have milk in your tea or coffee it stinks if you forget to rinse it I thought it was virtually indestructible but the baggage handlers with virgin managed to break the plastic lid while in my backpack ? how they managed that il never know works great doesn't leak if you have tea coffee with milk it leaves residue that stinks if you forget to rinse it
This Mug is everything a insulated mug should be!! – My Floral Silver Cheeki Coffee mug is just brillant! It has a fantastic non spill lid, that is easy to open and shut with a press of a button and better still you can drink from any point around its 360 degree lid! It has 5hrs insulation which is a dream and means no more cold coffee for me at the office. It is made out of stainless steel which… Read more
is so much better than my plastic mug, and means no more BPA nasty chemicals. Non spill lid and insulation
