Coles Smoked Bbq Almonds

These almonds have a bizarre mix of flavours. It has a fake smoke flavour, which is sweet, but also a bitter after taste which completely disguises the natural flavour of the almond. It just tastes like the powder coating. Obviously these almonds are heavily covered in salt and flavouring rather than actually real smoked almonds and there are a number of products out there that has 'smoke flavour', but this one tastes more like the snack food Burger Rings. The ingredients list seems to indicate why there may be a clash of flavours - Almonds (88%), Sugar, Corn Starch, Onion Powder, Salt, Maltodextrin, Soy Sauce Powder [Maltodextrin, Salt, Water, Defatted Soybeans, Wheat], Smoke Flavour, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavour, Pepper. These nuts are packed in Vietnam from an unknown source.
