Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5150

Good printer, economical printing. I really like the InkTank bottles, and they are easy and mess free. Had the printer for over 1 year without any problems. My only issue is the awkward access to the output tray for finished printing. It is tricky to remove your printing unless you can access it from the rear. We bought this printer for the document feeder and duplex printing. Only does single sided scanning though.The ink for all Pro series InkTank printers is pigment ink, so it doesn't fade or run like dye inks do. We had a Brother before, and had to discard it when the non user replaceable waste ink pad filled up. The Epson has a replaceable waste ink tank that only costs about $15. The ink is really good value as well. Really happy with this printer and would recommend for home office.

Epson ET 5150 pro printer – A good fair but very fiddily to set up, very small screen not good for us oldies but overall works well ,no more cartridges (yes) great print quality, a down side keep losing my short cut for the printer & persistent paper jams , reinstall the software but disappears again a pain in the but

Not good. Epson support questionable – I purchased this all in one unit as I was after a good and reliable printer and scanner. Connectivity was always going to be an issue due to our house build and location of our study. I am likely being harsh with this review as it is more than likely a WIFI / router issue. Having said that, all of our devices connect to the WIFI via the main router in this study room. Except my nemesis - the Epson ET-5150. I have to constantly change from the main router to the extender when I need to print and scan. Epson support indicate that the printer only has a 20 foot range from the main router. This seems to be a short range for connectivity. If I had known of this short range I would not have purchased the unit. Reason for review is to advise potential buyers of potential range issues. On another note I was expecting a much better print quality than what is achieved on this unit. Not happy with support from Epson either. Very dismissive and have had an instance where they could not resolved and was told they would call me right back. That never eventuated.

Perfect little colour printer for home use – I wanted an economical colour printer for home. Always had a mono laser printer with high yield cartridge. But updating to colour so needed to consider an inkjet style. The EcoTank range is vast and easy to get lost in the features offered. The minimum features criteria was double-siding, scan to PDF, colour printing, WiFi printing allowing print from iPhone, and economical ink usage. I achieved all those features in the Epson ET-5150 series. I guess time will tell with the ink economy, but otherwise very happy with my decision. Probably in a more expensive price range than I initially wanted to spend. But I figured it will pay off in the longer term with the required range of modern day features on this great little printer.
