Fisher-Price Baby Studio Swing

Sanity saver! – As a newborn our DS would love to be held & rocked. There is only so long you can do this! This product allowed our little one to sleep peacefully while being gently rocked. Great item to have! This product is stylish in design & I liked the fact that it wasn't your typical plastic design. Stylish in look, wooden not plastic. A bit bulky to try & store, not so easy to move, no where to hang toys once bub becomes more 'alert'
Life Saver! – My daughter loves it, a real life saver for my husband and I!! The swing looks great in our living room and our baby girl loves sleeping there while mum and dad relax watching tv. I don't know what we would do without it! Our daughter is now 4 months and we really hope she will fit in the swing for few more months. Reliable, beautiful and energy efficient
The designer baby swing – When baby number 2 was born, we weren't really looking for a swing, but we came across the Fisher Price Studio Swing on sale from $300 to $150. I had heard good things about swings in general, so we decided to give it a go. We went to the store where we had seen it advertised and were shocked at the size of the swing. It is the biggest baby swing… Read more
I have ever seen! It's actually so big we walked straight past it in the shop because we were looking for something smaller. Anyway, we still decided to buy it.
We got it home and it was easy to assemble. Over the coming weeks, we tried our newborn in it a few times and he didn't really take to it. The music and nature sounds are nice and varied and the swing also has a number of speed settings, although even the slowest seemed a bit fast for a just newborn. You can of course keep it stationary if you prefer, which we did a lot of the time. From memory you can't play the music while stationary though. Our son eventually started to like it a bit more and would sometimes sleep in it, but only for short periods.
There is no toy bar, just one teether toy attached which our son was too young to do anything with.
The cover comes off easily for washing. And the whole thing collapses very easily for storage, although it's still quite sizeable even when collapsed.
It is a very attractive swing which is probably what gets most people in. It's also unisex in design. There are matching items such as a highchair and rocker, if you are the sort of person who likes everything to match, although these are also quite pricey.
We ended up selling our swing, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because we decided it wasn't really necessary given we had a bouncer/rocker too. Very attractive, pleasant music/nature sounds, various speed settings, collapses for storage, available from big department stores (eg Target, Big W) and baby stores. Expensive, very large, can't play music while stationary, doesn't come with required batteries.
Good – I liked it - bub loved it but prefered to swing without the auto-swinger on (it does swing for ages just by itself with a push) the pity being that he then can't hear the music which he likes. He'll play in there now for a while - and if he's having a bad day it's not too bad for a snooze in either - helps him to calm down well. Was great to… Read more
give mum a break and fall asleep in when he was little (er). Lightwieght. Folds up for storage. Music/sounds are great. Looks nice. Doesn't fold up much! Still takes up a fair bit of room. You cant play the sounds or music without having the auto-swinger on aswell.
Good – we bought this before our daughter was born as an alternative to a bouncer because we were worried about our backs. Our daughter hated it at first, and would cry as soon as we put her in it. After she decided she wanted to try and sit up and we changed the recline to the upward position she is much happier to go in there and play. We like the fact… Read more
that it has a wooden frame - it doesnt look so cheap and plastic. It would be improved by having castors at least on two legs, so that it could be moved more easily. It would also be better with some sort of toy clip/hanger above, especially for a little baby in the reclined position. Overall we are reasonably happy with this swing, but it was very expensive for the amount of use we will get out of it. easy to clean. easy to assemble. looks good in our house. expensive. Difficult to move with no wheels. nowhere to hang/attach toys.
Excellent – We are thrilled with this swing, and we love the fact that it compliments our existing furniture. Our baby enjoys sitting in the swing as she is at an ideal height to look around and watch what other family members are up to. When she was smaller (and lighter!) the auto swing feature tended to swing her too high and fast, but the swing swings… Read more
effectively without auto swing and just a gentle push. Wheels would be excellent on the swing as I like to have her in it outside and wherever I am in the house; it can be heavy and bulky to carry around. The fabric cover is really easy to remove and washes beautifully in the washing machine; it also dries quickly on the line. While it was expensive, we are certainly getting our money's worth. Overall we love it and would highly recommend it to anyone. Stylish, sturdy design; beautiful uni-sex fabric & wood; simple, lovely features; seat cover easily removable and machine washable. Expensive, and wheels would be fantastic to make it easier to move.
