Enough for my needs – I got the Vivosmart 4 as a present a couple of years ago and it has turned out to be a great tool for me to track my sleep and other health data points. I like that it's simple but complete. Mine had an issue with the band which got like a bubble. However, I contacted Garmin and I got an exchange even though my watch's guarantee had expired. Not built to last – I bought this just over 2 years ago. While the watch itself has served me well, especially the Body Battery and Stress monitor, the strap is now broken. There is no option to swap out the strap which renders the still functioning watch useless! Garmin's motto of "built to last" is a joke. Why design a watch that does not have a replaceable band to extend its life span. Such a waste. Show details
Didn't last – I paid more for this than a comparable Fitbit, in the hopes it would last longer than 12-18 months. It has worked fine until recently. But I've just hit 18 months and the screen has dulled to the point I can barely read it, and I can't sync with my phone. Going back to Fitbit...very disappointed. Show details
Doesn't track sleep / strap causes skin blisters, and rash / customer service is awful! – I purchased the item on 1st June 2022 and realised it had issues tracking sleep (some nights recording it, some nights not at all). It would also only 'spot' track my heart rate (for say an hour or so during the day, then dropping out) and some days, it wouldn't track my heart rate at all! and forth, being asked the same questions over and over, being asked to do the same things over and over, with no attempt to resolve the issues at all. Finally gave up on 30 June 2022 and returned the product and purchased a Fitbit which has been far superior so far! The strap of the Vivosmart is also not good for the skin - it 'burnt' and blistered my wrist under where the heart rate monitor is situated and caused a rash, then blistering, and bruising - like a chemical type burn (see pictures attached) - this is even with washing the strap daily with isopropyl. All-in-all, not worth the money, there are much better options within the same price range out there.
Not the best sleep tracker – I purchased this because I wanted a step and sleep tracker. Something to help motivate me. Unfortunately it’s not very accurate for sleep. remind me to move. If you’re just after a step tracker, then this is great. It’s also not huge so I don’t mind wearing it 24/7. I have an iPhone 11 and knew the Garmin wouldn’t be able to reply to text messages, but I can’t even read text messages. The only messages it will show on screen are the useless app alerts. It does vibrate when my phone rings, but the find my phone feature only works sometimes. Most times it says to open the Garmin app on my phone to sync. Which isn’t helpful when I’m trying to find my phone! I would probably have looked at a Fitbit had I known how bad this was at sleep tracking.
Lack of information about charging – I love my vivosmart 4 but I had a lot of trouble charging it . The watch kept showing “check charging cable “ so I bought a new cable, same problem. needed to use at least a 10 watt charger and the phone charger did not have enough power. Once I plugged it in to a bigger charger it charged up well. Garmin need to give this information on their website or all a charger in the box. This cost me a wasted $30. Hope this helps others .
Great product for my needs – Garmin vivosmart 4 is a great size and has pretty rose gold accents. I wanted this tracking watch for Sleep tracking, stress tracking and light exercise (steps) monitoring. tracking has been good, it’s good to see your quality of sleep reporting light, rem and deep sleep, with movement. The app is easy to use to view your day tracking and history. Battery lift is 2-3 days before recharging. And the heart rate monitor and body battery are good insights on how your body is coping with the day. It’s also fully waterproof, though I would note the silicone cause cause a “sweat rash” if you don’t take it off and dry the watch and your skin after being in water or exercise. Very happy with this product, it does the job for me and is still working perfect 4 months after purchase!
