Incorrect fitting – Gas fitting is incorrect as hose won't connect to it. Even the bloke at Bunnings acknowledged the issue and accepted the return and refunded. Gasmate said they've looked into the issue and can't find a problem. I suggested that they send their sales representative to my local bunnings store to inspect the faulty item because there's obviously a faulty batch in circulation. No further replies from them. Disappointed. Show details

the Gas mate Voyages BBQ BQ1075 – Since purchasing my voyages BBQ I have given it a work out to see what I can cook on this little unit BBQing great I have a protector to cook on to save the mess on the plates Cooked meat no problems other then on the plate Cooked really well but on the grate just got a little too hot.I don't like chared meats. The next I tried was a loaf of bread… Read more

cooked really well but again just way too hot where the bread tin on the grate so ended up with a burnt bottom. Brought a Pizza Stone for making pizza. Heated the stone on the lowest setting about 20 mins to reach 300degF my mistake made the pizza too large where the pizza was on the plate Cooked really well but where it was over the grill you gets it it burnt. Dough was thick enough so was ably to remove the burnt section on the pizza to my surprise my pizza didn't taste burnt at all very nice in fact. The next to try was puffed pastry using my Procter I placed over the stone heated the stone again on the lowest setting too about 1/2 hr to heat. I had made some puff parcels to try, well same story where the pastry went to the grate area it burnt over all the parcels were cooked nicely some with burnt bottoms. Today have ordered another plate from Gas Mate so when I get that plate will have another go of Pizza and Puff pastry .next on the agenda is to make a cake.

Rust and a threadless nut – Rust in corner upon opening box. One nut (M6) had no thread. Had to go to Bunnings for a replacement pack of nuts. Instructions say 20 minutes to assemble. Took over an hour. Show details

Very average/low budget – Pros: Lightweight - portable - gets up to 450F on max after about 8 mins - drop down legs are good for space. Cons: Comes flat pack, takes about 1 hour to build - Gas regulator doesn't detach meaning it is wider than you would expect as the hose isn't completly flexible - massive gaps in the rear hood for gas safety regs but let out way too much… Read more

heat - very uneven cook! does not heat around the edges at all, only cooks in the middle. - slight wind blows a lot of heat away due to the massive gaps in the rear of the hood. - hinges very weak and flimsy, can't imagine they'll last over a year.

Overall: Spend a bit more and get something better, stronger and more resilient.

Very cheap and had to put together – This product read well but failed to say 'it had to be put together '... with a lot if cheap screws nuts and bolts. Very cheap quality as well and when asked about returning it as it was not as described May as well have been talking to a parrot. No customer service...don't waste your money with this product. The best part of it is the bag to put it in. Show details

Ok for occasional bbqing. Suggest the agents at least get an optional extra to improve drip tray feature – Good temperature gauge easy to pack into carry bag Useless drip tray Leaves Mess on bbq table Right leg catches on on/off gas ignition knob. Would only rate 21/2 stars until improvements made Show details

Very disappointed – Takes forever to heat up, very slow to cook. Very disappointed with this BBQ. Tried to cook bacon and eggs, took so long was ridiculous. The same with sausages. Don’t waste your money Show details

Very happy camper – We’ve tried a few different meals. First up simple sausages, cooked a treat. Next up we did steaks, another good result. Followed up with pizza, and then a veal roast. Yet to try the bread and butter pudding! Very happy with the outcomes, all cooked very well. Roast evenly cooked, although veggies needed a bit more, we’ll work on that. The pizza… Read more

had a good crispy base courtesy of a small pizza stone purchased to fit it (300mm diameter). Use it like you would a Weber and it works well, cook with a closed lid watching the temperature (thanks for the temp gauge). Yet to try it on open grill. All up it is a compact design (Interestingly grille space is between a Weber Q and Baby Q), it is light weight (don’t expect too much of lightweight sheet metal vs cast aluminium) so it is a light load to carry, and it works well. The bonus is that it is about a third of the price of its main opposition. Very happy with our purchase, would recommend it to anyone

Sm3, light and portable – Assembly instructions were good and I had few problems with it. It lit and heated up quickly and cooked our snags, potatoes and corn in no time. My only issue is the fat collection. The drip tray is very small, but I don't understand how the fat is directed to the tray at all. From a single use, I've found that the fat just falls to the bottom of… Read more

the unit where it can be wiped up with paper towels afterwards. I appreciate the comment that a drip tray can be installed before use, but how are we supposed to direct fat to the supplied tray? Curious...

Tinny an flimsy mechano set – BBQ comes completely disassembled and you will need to put it together. Legs feel like they could give way at any time. Cooking a roast in a backing tray worked out well. Bacon and eggs on the other hand stuck no matter what. Should of shopped around more. Walked into anaconda and saw a much better quality one for the same price Show details

Cheap, efficient and easy to clean – Love this bbq, we love cooking sausages, chicken kebabs and veggies on it. It heats up really quickly and cooks in no time. We only have 3 people but I think you could easily cook for me. Love how you can cook with lid open or closed. It’s really easy to clean the plates as you can detach them and wash them in the kitchen sink, You can’t beat the price for $89 it’s fab. It’s really lite too so would be fine to take camping etc.  Show details

Good things come in small packages – A compact affordable bbq , easy to assemble (excellent kit/ instructions included) Built in thermometer..2 different cast iron plates. All the features the big boys have without the hefty price tag. Will be tempted to experiment beyond snags and burgers. Ticks all my boxes. Very happy. Cheap and flimsy defintely nothing like a webber – Cheap and flimsy design. Coating scratches easy wont be long b4 rust and replacement. Legs are flimsy too. All constructed from thin sheet metal. Will replace with a webber when this turns to junk. The first bbq one of the handles broke on assembly. Returned and had to get another whole bbq ovee just swapping a handle thanks to 4wdsupacentre in dandenong.  Show details

Very user friendly – Put together easy and cooks well. Sold the baby Q and bought this because it is so much more convenient in size, cleaning and storage. At less than half the price of other brands, thoroughly recommend it. Have cooked bacon and eggs (of course), lamb roast and scones so far. Love experimenting.  Show details

Happy camper – I have just purchased the voyager to replace the Weber baby q because it is smaller and lighter. I ordered it on Thursday night and it was delivered Monday afternoon. How good is that? It took us a while to put together because of the fiddly screws, washers and nuts, but that was just us, someone younger could have done it a lot quicker. I cooked… Read more

a small lamb roast last night which was cooked well. Only issue was the thermostat didn’t seem accurate because it didn’t go above 150 degrees. Looking forward to some more experimentation.

Brilliant portable gas BBQ, super easy to assemble with all tools/nuts/bolts supplied – Wow, what a fantastic portable BBQ It was super easy to assemble and better it actually came with all tools/nuts/bolts supplied. It came with a screwdriver and spanner plus all nuts and bolts. The instructions to assemble were thankfully not a translation but actual proper instructions, easy to read and understand. The BBQ is great to use,… Read more

had a hood and inbuilt thermostat for cooking roast style and two great cast iron cooking plates, not the lightweight steel.

The only issue if the very (Very) small drip tray but a tinfoil baking tray underneath overcomes this. It's very lightweight to carry but is however well built, especially given it had two cast iron cooking plates, one flat plate and one grill plate.
