ghd Duet Style Hot Air Styler
Verified5 reviews
I bought this to replace my Dyson Airwrap - the Dyson hot brush attachment makes my fine hair fly away and frizz. My hairdresser recommended and uses ghd, and honestly this hot air styler is brilliant. My hair is thick and fine, in a longish bob. The styler is a little heavy, and the prongs are rigid - which feels scratchy after using the soft bristled Dyson. But overall it's a huge improvement in styling ability, texture, shine, and longevity of the style. Use it to dry hair roughly, then take time to style. Fabulous results every time.

Cuts back on drying time – I have a cupboard full of hair appliances bought in an attempt to get my unruly wavy hair straight. While I love having clean hair, I hate the washing and drying process. The duet gets my hair straight from damp - no need to wrestle with a round brush and blowdryer first. The only problem I find is because its plates are widely set, it leaves my hair looking a little blunt at the ends (even when I change the setting to shine shot), so I usually finish off with a regular straightener to tidy it up.

Quick long lasting – I just purchased the GHD Duet in white . I have very long hair and found it took me just over 20 minutes from start to finish. Its not that loud and you dont get very hot like you do with hair dryers. I usually let my hair dry natuarally and then straighten with my other GHD straighten. I found that this Duet was easy to use.. not too heavy , not too loud and for me what i dislike the most about hair drying is the heat. This is great .. I had to do more than 4 passes through due to the thickness of my hair which is understandable.

Hubby's viewpoint review – I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my wife. She has a lot of the GHD products which have been reliable and perform their intended function very well. I thought I'd go the little extra mile by opting to have her name engraved on the item. Unfortunately I was not happy with the quality of this engraving. I asked for ~Jill~ which I thought was pretty simple. I used the "tilde" character "~" to which there was no error generated during the ordering process. When the item was delivered I opened it up to check everything before wrapping and was disappointed to find that not only were the "tilde" characters missing, but the unit also had a rub mark along the top from where the engraving was done, obviously caused by whatever process the used. In regard to the engraving itself, it's very non-distinct and doesn't stand out at all. As far as the product itself goes, it's a nice piece of kit. Very stylish in appearance, feels like quality and the set box is very plush. My wife has used it since Christmas and even though it was a short test she managed to straighten and dry her butt length wavy hair in about 10 minutes with ease. I thought the result was great and with more practice I'm sure she'll master the process so that it's easier still. Overall, I think it's well worth the money spent. (please note: this is a hubby's review based on purchasing the item and watching my wife use it)

Helps with hair smoothness – This combination of drying your hair first with a flat iron dryer followed by extra shine shot option after works on my unruly hair I can also leave out the shine shot out on a daily basis for work & unlike a normal hairdryer it leaves my hair smooth as the pic below shows one side traditional blow waved compared to just using the drying option on the ghd. At first I didn’t like the process but on my 3rd attempt I actually got the hang of it & now I love it Extra shine for a night out that I found my hair could only achieve after a hair salon appointment The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is a little heavy but still not as heavy as my blow waver.
