Great bike but – Powerful, sturdy, stable and comfortable w a long range. Comes w rack, lights and mudguards. My major gripe is the woeful power/trip computer unit, especially given how good they are on other Giant models. monitor speed AND distance at the same time for example. Changing all screen views is fiddly, slow and frustrating.
I'm going to have to buy a proper sized separate trip computer that I can see clearly, which I shouldn't have to do on a $5000+ bike!

on good conditions, don’t think i would get anything near that even on level 2, if anyone from Giant reads this happy to have a conversation with you, also as other people have said there seems to be a lot of drag on the motor when cuts out as it's nilly impossible to peddle much faster. I noticed with the new type of sensors, (Smart Assist) on level 5 the bike still only delivers the power required, yes the Roam gave the power up front as you raised the level, great bike to ride but not sure if this is the correct bike for myself. dependent on how much assistance you apply. I can travel about 50km on full power and well over 100km using less assistance. I generally ride now for fitness and I am able to conquer light trails and roads easily and hills are a breeze. I can of course work as hard as I want dialling the electric support as I pedal up or down as I require. The only downsides are that the bike is fairly heavy due largely to the battery and that the electric assistance cuts out at 25kmh. It would be great if the assistance limit (state regulated) was upped by 10kmh. Being aware of traffic is also really crucial and I tend to ride on as few busy roads as possible. I have really enjoyed getting back into riding and being able to go pretty much anywhere with relative ease is great. My fitness has improved greatly and I cycle regularly because it’s a lot of fun.
Uodate – Only had the Explore E+ for limited time but has plenty of power and no issues other than, as another has stated, the App doesnt seem to want to do everything its supposed to.. need to learn to ride differently to achieve the best results. Do love the auto power mode, havent seen that on many other bikes so far.
Update 2022. Sold bike 70klms wasnt enough and the 25klms limit is abugger. Bought a Focus with a Bosch engine. More power get 90kls on hilly terain. Easily do 100 if tried. Is slightly heavier and consequently less agile but gives me more confidence with next size up tyres.
Good Quality Ebike – I have owned the Bike now for about 12 months . At a cost of around $3000 not a cheap bike .It is not a motor bike .It won't go anywhere without pedaling ! issue with the software that connects the bike to a phone app which acts as a speedo/odometer and you can alter the motor settings Definitely recommend this bike
