GoPro Hero10 Black

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT-Avoid GoPro all together – I bought 2 HERO10's just over 12 months ago. Haven't been happy from the start with their battery quality and overheating issues. They have only had minimal use and not subjected to harsh conditions. One of the cameras has completely stopped working out of the blue. GoPro will not replace as it's 'out of the warranty period', instead trying to… Read more
push me into their scammy subscription service (which I've had past issues with i.e., was a hidden subscription when I purchased) whereby I can then get a replacement for $150. I've seen hundreds of posts online of people complaining about multiple GoPro products having issues and support not doing replacements etc. - just do yourself a favour and completely avoid this company. Trash. Perhaps going to look into DJI.
CRIMNAL SPAM EMAILS DESPITE MULTIPLE UN-SUBSCRIPTIONS – After unsubscribing once every month from the daily spam emails from Gopro. I am now in a position where I am highly motivated to leave the a BAD REVIEW. I now really hate Gopro and as a professional camera man I think the DJI is far better.
good camera bad audio – Been using my gopro for racing although my races are 10-15 mins long the gopro hero 10 sometimes gets extremely hot to touch, i as yet havent had any issue with it shutting down it records in 4k for my races and ive found it perfect for my use i am disappointed with the audio after paying this much for a gopro to then have to look for a external mic i find sad but all in all it does what i need it to do
2 units dead in 18 and 6 months respectively not subjected to harsh activity. Hard to contact GoPro – unit died 18 months after purchase, had to pay under subscription for replacement which also died after less than 6 months. GoPro refused to replace the replacement unit under warranty which is very disappointing indeed. Unit was used to film simple bushwalk activity. Second unit would get warm when a battery is inserted, can't do anything with it. After pressing the mode (on/off) switch for 10sec still nothing happened Show details
The brand that make you love and hate in the same time, get protective housing is must – Pros: Reasonably good quality action camera suitable for underwater photography. Easy availability of parts and accessories. Cloud feature enables remote storage of videos. Cons: Had the problem of backscreen black out almost from the start. Fragile back screen prone to damage, leading to water leakage. Aftercare service can be challenging to… Read more
navigate. Customer service is unresponsive, requiring follow-up. Replacement costs can exceed $150 even with GoPro Care, with limited credit usage and upgrade options. Terms and conditions prioritize business protection over customer interests.
Very disappointed – I brought my GoPro 10 Hero about 2yrs ago. I was very excited to have what I thought was going to be the bees knees of action camera's. I originally brought the bonus pack with extra batterie and tripod plus magnet mount. As soon as I started using the camera I noticed how hot it became it would get so hot it would turn itself off quite often.… Read more
Over time 2yrs I had the camera I had used it quite a bit, everything for motorcycle adventures and 4x4 trips to family doing over sea holidays. I gave the 2 star rating because I believe GoPro is way to expensive for what you get. The accessories are expensive, standard battery life is poor. Editing it time consuming, and the annual subscription is to expensive for a part time user like myself. After owning one of the newer GroPro's I will never get another one as I think there are much better value for money option's out there now days.
GoPro hero 10 is rubbish, the after service is even worse – GoPro hero 10 is rubbish, the after service is even worse. Gopro was ok for just after the warranty expired then the sound stopped working properly. Decided to renew GoPro subscription for the ' No Question asked camera replacement' and contacted GoPro for replacement. They asked 1 million questions. 1 week later, still nothing. I completed all… Read more
the stuff they needed but nothing. These American companies are just screwing us all over with their rubbished overpriced stuff with no care for customer service. Apart from the above,, the battery life is shocking, the camera overheats in waterproof case, and quality isnt as good as everyone says.
Disappointing – Bought 2 GoPro Hero 10's for the purpose of filming portions of sets at our bands gigs. These cameras are incapable of filming for more than 20 minutes before overheating and shutting down. The life in the stock batteries are pathetic. Any extra accessories like mounts have exorbitant prices. Definitely not worth the money paid.
Shame on you, Go Pro, rippping off consumers – We bought the go pro camera during a sale and unknowingly were signed up to auto 12mth renewal subscription,.within 24hrs of being billed , which we were not notified about nearing the end of 12mth trial,we rang to get it reversed, this multi million dollar company refused to refund.this is a 'legitimate' way of ripping people off. phone number in the USA. Wouldnt give me manager's contact.offered an accessory i already hadand didnt need
Review is not about the camera but customer service – These guys advertise themselves as Go Pro Australia yet they are based in Singapore.Cannot contact them as they do not have a contact number.Trying to contact them through their chat or call back service is a Nightmare............Absolutely Zero for customer service....Best to buy locally as you have better chance of contact. Terrible product, terrible service – I purchased a go pro that kept overheating after short periods of time. Ordered a replacement three week ago and was told I would get a GoPro chesty as compensation as they would not pay for my postage cost of sending it Back (registered and insured). Three weeks later it still has not been posted and my replacement camera has a faulty door and… Read more
when I tried to take a photo, it froze and would not turn off and get extremely hot!
I have been asking to talk to a manager for about five days and keep getting the run around and no no one will call me back.
Looks like I’m going to have to lodge a complaint with NSW fair trading. I’m going on holidays in just over a week and wanted this to record our holiday. This is the most stressful experience I have ever had buying any product and the worst customer service I have ever experienced!
Subscription Scam – Just reiterating what others have said on here. It is still going on (December 2022). You buy a camera and you get automatically signed up to a subscription for a year for 'free'. They fail to tell you that it automatically renews. Nor do they warn you. Then you get stung for $70 for second year. You can complain all you want......they don't give a F. Last time i order anything from Gopro. Pretty shoddy tactic in this day and age. Show details
Deceiving – Be careful. Bought this product for my daughter and came with a free subscription to GoPro. This subscription was never used and it auto renewed a year later and they will not refund, even though I have never used it! I asked for refund within 2 days of it automatically being debited from my account. Disgusting company and policy Show details

Know better, choose better.
Awful company to deal with – I purchased a Go Pro for my son's 12th birthday a year ago, which came with a free 1-year subscription. This week I noticed $70 (+ an international transaction fee) deducted from my credit card account. I realise that they had rolled us over onto another year's subscription without our consent. I cannot login to cancel the subscription as it's in… Read more
my child's email address (so there's a lot of mucking around as he is a child and cannot remember any passwords for either gmail or GoPro). I emailed and spoke with GoPro several times and to put it mildly they were horrible and aggressive to deal with. They will not refund the amount and they won't assist with helping us figure out the login details to cancel the subscription. It's such a poor customer service model. I am a high income earning parent with two tweens who love gadgets. I could be a long term loyal customer of theirs, but yet they have been so rude and aggressive over cancelling a subscription. I will never purchase another product from them again. Do so at your own risk!
Go with another option – You get no accessories no real warranty (try and make a claim) and a mediocre camera that crushes the blacks and turns off at any given moment. Remember Nokia , GoPro has gone the same way options like DJI and insta 360 are much better value and better picture quality so I will be purchasing these options from now on. Also the GoPro app is so bad… Read more
it's basically unusable. Gopro has an arrogant outlook towards customer service believing they have no equal and have a superior product. It's not in 2022 .
Insane video, a few negatives – I would like to start by saying the video and photos are incredible!!! Unfortunately I started using this with only negative aspects. After first use I stupidly left my attachment attached to the GoPro. This caused the mounting parts to start rusting and corroding, thankfully these are apparently replaceable but it just seems dumb putting a… Read more
corroding part on a product that clearly will be used in water, the other issue was the wifi draining the battery. Surely this is something they could have fixed by now, I read about it when they had the GoPro 7 so they’ve had time to sort this. Outside of those negatives it’s an incredible camer
Product let down by lack of customer service – Any product, no matter how good, will be worth little without meaningful customer support. That is especially so where the value of a product is tied to a subscription that delivers the ongoing benefits of ownership. In this case the main benefit is discounts on further purchases of accessories etc. It’s not worth the distress caused by GoPro’s… Read more
attitude to so called customer service when placing orders. Things might reach the level of mild frustration when things are going well. However if you come up with an issue that doesn’t fit into the narrow range they can cope with, you may experience the silent treatment. You might be in a callback queue multiple times and still get no callback. You may receive an email asking you to ‘reach out’ and contact “customer” service, but still get no response at all. Despite being a subscriber I had an order cancelled after many days waiting with no notice or contact to try and resolve the issue followed by an astounding lack of responsiveness to customer needs. Yep, no notice or contact…just let it hang. Try and then arrange a return as I did, and be met with a complete refusal to process the request. Buyer beware is a particularly relevant caution here. It took over a month to receive the initial order for a camera as the courier companies restricted by GoPro argued with each other about whether they could deliver to the (only) delivery address acceptable to GoPro. That’s right it wasn’t an ‘exception’, yet the delivery was held up for almost two weeks while the argument raged. GoPro refused to take any action to resolve the issue. A second delivery was cancelled without any notice or follow up to me. Again GoPro refused to take any action to remediate. This order had to be placed again and as I write I am advised that it is delayed due to an ‘exception’ that needs me to contact them to ‘resolve’. After my previous experience with repeated no call backs and lack of responsiveness, I’m not looking forward to what lies ahead. If this is not resolved in a timely fashion, the whole lot is going to be returned and I will never deal with the company again. It is simply too distressing to deal with them. You may see poor reviews on their website, but you won’t see them all. I submitted the above, but it has not been posted after several days. I’ve seen other review websites with over 80% of hundreds of reviews rated as ‘bad’. The biggest complaint…the atrocious customer service. Update 21/4/22. Bottom line is the access to subscriber benefits of being able to receive discounted product are unreasonably restricted by GoPro and unable to be delivered. And yes the same thing has happened to the second parcel. An initial delay and now an emerging argument about where GoPro will allow the package to be redirected to having been sent to a distant town despite the original restriction for residential delivery only. There are very simple customer focussed solutions, however for GoPro people it’s a flat out case of computer says no. Looks like this one will spin out to a month or more. That’ll be two months of my annual subscription without any benefit delivered yet. Sadly a return is probably the only solution.
Gopro 10 warranty and support warning – Do Not Buy! I purchased my GoPro 10 20.02.2022. Camera is faulty 1st turn on , cant get pass the hero 10 logo boot. back to gropro on the product that should work out of the box. If you planning to get a gopro ,be aware of ProGo BAD warranty and Support.
I Got Burned – I’ve had a few GoPros and bought the 10 on release. This new one though, overheats super fast to the point it actually burnt my kid’s fingers. It was only on for five minutes and I didn’t believe him but when I picked it up I also felt the burn and we had to put our fingers under cold water. We had only just bought the camera and we’re using it… Read more
in the pool.
I can’t believe the camera doesn’t come with a warning label notifying users of potential skin burns.
We still use the camera but now keep it on a monopod or tripod so we don’t burn ourselves. The camera is still super hot to touch if left on for around five minutes so we run it under cold water before attempting to turn it off so as to not hurt ourselves.
One other issue for potential buyers, and this is not the camera’s fault, but make sure your computer can handle editing 5K footage. Turns out neither my Apple or Dell can edit GoPro Hero10 footage in Adobe Premier.
And one last point for potential buyers, yes, the GoPro Hero10 is waterproof but it’s not damage proof. It was in my son’s pocket when he fell over and it smashed the screen.
