I saw another patient with one of these hotpods in the ER waiting room, noticing her cuddling it for hours before asking triage staff to reheat it. I am so grateful to her, as it has been one of the most useful purchases I ever made, and THE BEST heat pack I have ever used. I use it every night. It soothed me through 4 weeks of recovery with bruised ribs and is now keeping my back and hips warm and pain free, for a more comfortable and better quality sleep. I generally heat it up about 10 or 11pm, and it's still lukewarm at 6 to 7am. It doesn't take long to warm up, though the bubbling noise initially startled me, it quickly allowed me to notice when it was hot enough, as it has an automatic shut off. I purchased my Hotpod at Chemist Warehouse for under $30 and had paid twice that in the past for smelly wheat packs that got damp in the microwave and wet my clothes. The Hotpod is consistent, warm, comforting, and a bargain. The only criticism I could make is that I'd also like a longer one in the range, to cover a larger area across my hips, back, and stomach. Definitely recommend.

Ive had 2 hips replaced and a spinal fusion so ive had lots of pain and spasm so when that happens I use a wheat pack but brought this from chemist warehouse and its the best thing I've brought. Heats up quickly and stays hot for ages .I love it ! Thoudhly recommend it.

This was a gift, to start with I thought the heating time was quite lengthy, but the heating time got even longer within weeks of purchase. It's quite a wait if you're in pain, not very flexible either for around the neck. Also it doesn't hold the heat for anywhere near the stated time, best to stick with the microwave one's that heat in 90 seconds.
Follow-up · This was a gift, so I did not choose it initially. Originally it heated within 5-10 minutes and the light went out, but within weeks it was taking 15-20 minutes to heat. I tried to exchange it for another as I thought it may be faulty, but the chemist just said that as the light went out eventually, that it was working correctly and said I needed to make sure it was flat, which I was doing anyway.

Awesome electric heat pack – Hubby bought me a Hotpod electric heatpack for my chronic pain It is awesome. It heats quickly on 240v power, is soft as due to the cover provided and can be used on any part of the body. It holds its heat very well for a long time too. I used to only use it at home but now take it on trips in the caravan. We often camp offgrid but we have solar power. Had some very cold nights our last trip and we have no heating in the caravan so I charged up my Hotpod using the inverter and was comfortable sitting outside around the campfire with it snuggled into my back, or tucked under my coat to keep me warm. On the really cold nights I charged it up again (10 minutes) and put it in the foot of the bed which stayed warm all night long. And the best part is no need for hot water so no wasting water or having to heat water and risk burns. Love it, it's now one of the first things I pack into the caravan even if we're not expecting cold temperatures.
