Your life is in danger if you buy this car – I bought mine brand new in mid 2020 and is a late 2019 model. To list wrongs with it, 1, It hates small pot holes! It jumps and feels like the car totally wrecks at the smallest pothole! Not only that but it also feel like you about to have a heart attack when this happens! 2, The tyres have no grip on a rainy day especially on a small paddle of water on the side of the road. It is very scary especially when this happens in the dark when you least expect it! 3,The safety features are always beeping for no apparent reason that I've learnt to ignore them now and I am worried that I will one day not respond when I really needed to for a good reason.

My experience with A200 WOULD KILL MY FAMILY ON THE ROAD – A 200 - My experience Purchase date: Nov 2019 Kms up to date: 8,912 In brief; while travelling with my wife only on a smooth highway located in the North Coast of Egypt, there was a piece of stone (small size, i.e. handy) on the left lane of the road. A Toyota Corolla car (new shape) passed over it in front of me with no problem, while I was passing over it, suddenly the two front air bags released and I lost control on the car and sudden break activated, for no risk at all, nothing heard or felt while passing over this little stone. The extreme reaction of the car, e.g. loss of control, sudden stop, release of airbags, and can't even move the car away from the speed lane on this high-way, have exposed us (my wife and I) to be killed. This unsafe design with lack of test and evaluation on where sensors should be located or triggered is not only disappointing but is unsafe. Immediately, phoned Mercedes car service and informed them that I cannot move the car, which was left on the speed (left) lane on a motor way. However, they came after two hours after sunset, I opened the boot of the car just to left the reflectors work and I started waving to high-speed cars to move away from the lane, where the car was stopping. All these factors contributed to massive risk of our lives. Although, the car since then is in the Mercedes Workshop in Alexandria, Egypt. I have not received any formal feedback from Mercedes. Given that, I sent couple of emails discussing in details what happened, phoned the customer service hotline for more than 20 times, asking for constructive/ written feedback, what they only showed me was the result of visual inspection indicating crack in the plastic cover and minor scratch at the bottom of the structure. Sir, with no single deficiency has happened in the car that made her must stop, with no single scratch in the front or fore bottom part of the car, but only this soft in material and little in size stone touched the lowest point of the car. My question that needs reply is as follows, safety equipment is for our safety, but the safety sensors in the new design of A200 put us in major risk of severe accident or death. How did you allow a design that contribute the risk of your customers, please inform me what associated risks that could happen if the car did not stop, the air bags did not release or why even the car was locked on the high-way? This unsafe design exposed us (my wife and I) to be killed, for no apparent reason except we trusted your product even it is new design with no history in the Egyptian roads. Finally yet importantly, 33 days with no formal response is really an indication of how Mercedes Egypt treats her customers. Only visual inspection conducted telling that there is scratch at the bottom of the car, with no mechanical/ electrical/ alignment or structural failures occurred made my idea valid is that the sensor is not located in the right place or the algorithm associated to trigger it overestimated the risks and put us in extreme risk. After this bad / risky experience, we (my wife and I) cannot trust this car anymore. You made my annual family visit in Egypt from Australia as a nightmare. We (my wife and I) looking forward to hearing from you ASAP. Sincerely yours - Dr.Eng. Ahmed Swidan

Purchased in at Egypt for $68,000.

Beautiful car BUT lots of problems – Ok, long story short. This is my first merc and I will not buy another one in the future. Bought my A200 Edition 1 in Feb 2020, it has only been 5 months and I have taken it into service for 3 times - 3 different problems. First time happened one month after I got my car, indicator was ticking like crazy. Second time - headlights weren't working. Third time, the time where I've had enough - fuel tank/pipe leaking.

Look, the car itself is beautiful, the A200 Edition 1 is a special edition where it comes with AMG package - interior and tyres. My car also features a double screen and wireless charging etc. It also comes with warranty and 3 years free servicing. Even though I didn't have to pay for anything but it is still annoying to have to bring my car in every 2 months because there's a problem.

To be honest, customer service isn't the best either. I previously own a VW and our family car was a Toyota and they have better service. Somehow Merc sales/service thinks they are too good for you. I had to call up to ask for a loan car after 4 days of "checking my car", no updates nothing. It was only when I called up to check on the progress then I was informed that the parts (tank and pipes) will have to be ordered from Germany and Singapore which will take 3 weeks during this pandemic. So was wondering if I hadn't call, I would probably be carless for 4 weeks?

Anyway, I will definitely be selling my car after 3 years.

Purchased in for $52,000.
