then saw one small bit of mould and said "ah, that'll do it". He did say it was a bit odd that mould is only in the one area (also this machine is regularly cleaned like all our others) and he basically blamed the sparky for not filling in the wall cavity and that's how the moisture/mould is getting in and what has caused a piece to break?
I have never known mould (which every machine accumulates in QLD regardless how much you clean it) to break a piece inside the machine before. So, I had to pay the call out fee. Now for him to replace the part, ANOTHER call out fee would have to be paid and the labour/parts.
Anyway, its left a sour taste in my mouth and won't be purchasing another Mitsubishi aircon unit again.
We purchased our house in 2023 with a Daikin unit in the living area that must have been cleaned for id say 10 years and that works perfectly, even more so when we had it deep cleaned. Disappointed that a unit so new has developed a broken part due to apparently one spot of mould...
Honestly sounded like the guy just wanted money for his newly started business... never again.
The air conditioner has been great but the service in regards to the cash back promotion has been poor. I was issued the wrong cash back and have been chasing it up for the past 5 months. Intermittent promises but no follow up and failure to respond to emails and calls. Very disappointed.

not notice the louvre motors and high speed fan noise is pretty strange. Also no backlit remote control, even a cheap TCL has this and more. So disappointed with this purchase. Another reviewer mentioned a newer motherboard addresses some of this so I might contact MHI. I am about o buy another 6kW ac for another room but it might be Mitsubishi electric this time and seems to be the one to get.

comfortable living – We have a double Mitsubishi unit for main living and a separate 3.5kW unit for downstairs. They have improved our living comfort greatly compared to our previous evap air con. Both units are totally reliable, good value for money and quiet when running. cooling needs. We chose the size based on their website's recommendation for the dimensions of the room. Some installers were advocating for a bigger system. We didn't want to freeze in the room where we had the split installed so we stuck to the 5 kw unit. We even find that the cool air pulls into the adjoining rooms so that's a bonus!

Very poor – Less than 6 months work and the PCB is cactus. Contacted the installer, they came out didn’t tell me anything at the time except the PCB board was cactus, then Mitsubishi sent an email saying they don’t cover egress and that the problem was due to a large ant colony being present. I raised a complaint and eventually after lots of hostile emails and calls where Mitsubishi attempted to blame me and the state of installation site, which was exactly how the installer left it, Mitsubishi offered to replace parts only. This meant I was still going to be out of pocket over $600 for the initial call out and the repair call out, Mitsubishi said they won’t cover the initial call out or repair costs. They’ve never returned an email, the communication has been hostile from the start, just have been at a total loss with the poor customer service. The aircon worked fine for 6 months but given it cost $800 for the whole unit I find it very hard to believe it’s going to cost nearly the same just to install a new PCB board. I’ve had to lodge a fair trading complaint to see if I can have it resolved, we need to purchase another 7kw system for our lounge room and we won’t be using Mitsubishi heavy again.

Really like them – I finally bought a 5kw Avanti split for the bungalow out the back, after enduring enormous power bills for years from my mum using a Nobo panel heater all day and night. I should have done this years ago. The Avanto heats up the room super quick, and then goes into low power temperature maintenance mode. Its just as good as an air con as well.… Read more
Really happy with it. I then went and bought another 5 units for the main house (2 x 3.5kw and 3 x 2.5kw), shut down our old gas central heater, put solar panels on the roof, and bought 2 electric heat pumps for hot water. It's only been 9 months, so i can't really comment on their longevity, but i love the way the Avanti's work. They are quick to heat up or cool a room, are quiet, and we are saving a fortune in power bills now we are off the gas, and the solar panels pay for daytime heating and cooling. As air conditioners, they are amazingly efficient, cool the rooms down beautifully. As heaters they work well, but i reckon next winter we might have to put up some curtains over doorways to keep the heat in the living areas, rather than the heat escaping into hallways and being wasted. So yeah, I'm a big fan, but like i said, it's only 9 months in. They are not the cheapest units on the market, but i was happy to pay a bit extra for hopefully years to come of piece of mind. The installer did say to make sure we clean out the filters every 6 months, apparently this is super important, to stop dust building up and making the units over work. It's pretty easy to do and you really can see the built up dust blow off the filters when you do clean them. We even got $100 cash back on each unit 6 months after we'd installed them due to a promotion Mitsubishi started running which was back dated. That was a nice bonus.
Good unit, but wish it could go both warmer and colder and circulate the air more – I have 2 different Heavy Industry air conditioners in different rooms based on all the reviews recommending them as the best and most reliable. powers down when the ceiling area meets the required temperature, while down on the seating level it is still cold (and no I dont have particularly high ceilings). The only way around this is to run a ceiling fan or floor fan aimed at the ceiling or air conditioner itself to push the air around and keep it heating that moving air.
2. When in cooling mode, the coolest setting is 18C. My parents have a different brand that will run at 16C. I can have the air con running on full (again with a ceiling fan moving the air around) and the coldest my bedroom (ie a smaller space) will get according to a digital thermostat on my desk is on a warm 30 degree day is around 20 to 22 depending on how long I run it.
Having to run a separate fan in both warming and cooling is an annoyance...
Would I buy one again? Based on all the reviews they win - probably. However I would probably look around harder at some competing brands and look at how much air volume they move, and what their lowest temperature settings are.

Great aircon—looks great on the wall and I really like the design. The only thing I haven’t liked is the remote. It’s a lot thicker than my older model, which makes it stick out from the wall more. I’ve bumped into it a few times and even broke the wall mount because of that. A slimmer remote would be nicer. Other than that, it’s a great product. Our family had an Mitsubishi Avanti installed in our bedroom & we are blown away by the quality. Installation was fuss-free & very prompt & the the same goes for the air conditioner itself! The room is cooled down in a matter of minutes in Summer & warm & toasty in Winter. 10/10 definitely recommended. Show details

for) is really poorly designed and very cumbersome to comply with from an IT perspective. Worse still, instead of a real 'Cash Back' Incentive (which Mitsubishi's marketing blurbs suggested) they provided us with a 'virtual credit card', with a pathetic level of instructions for usage. This in turn means that I have so far been unable to use it for any purchases. This is a classic example of a gimmicky marketing thought bubble triumphing over good customer service
