Happy dogs lovely smell – Wow I hadn't come across these before was very impressed dogs enjoyed it will look to get some more in the house
Love it, tastes way better than some of the other ones I've tried – Yes its "sticky" but I really like it, easy enough for me to eat. Chocolate tastes good, apricot is too sweet for me. Has creatine which is I find comes in handy studying/when exerting myself. It says on the packet to not eat more than one a day, but I tend to have about 3 or so depending on how I feel. really good breaky replacement, I eat it in the car on the way to school.
I don't understand how you can eat more than one, or even finish one – One of the worst protein bars I've ever eaten, it's hard to chew and tastes pretty horrible.Recommend others unless you find this dirt cheap, even then I'd advise against it.
Almost like being stuck to superglue.... eating it needs finesse – As the above statement says, it is a bit of an exercise activity just to try to eat this properly and unfortunately for some people, including myself; tend to find it rather difficult to do so. When you open the packaging, depending on the ambient temperature in the room; much worse when its warmer. When it is warm to hot conditions, you can… Read more
actually bend the entire thing into a circle, the whole thing is sold as a single piece. I'd imagine that it is probably easier to eat when the conditions are warm to hot; except when it is the opposite. You will find that when you take your first bite, it sticks to your teeth and also would need a bit of force to pull the first bite off the bar.
Apart from this, the best flavour I've found is Apricot, others have not been that great. When I eat this for my needs, I find that I would need to consume more protein, therefore run into the problems of eating two of these; whereas with other types of health bars that I have consumed; I would only need to consume one of them.
The sugar content on this is quite substantial, so in terms of a recommendation; I would only choose this if your other choices are not stocked on the supermarket shelves or at your health food shop. Otherwise, I'd stay clear away from these because of amount of calories and sugar it has. Unless of course that you're doing a lot of exercise on a daily basis amongst other things; then perhaps I would choose only one of these to consume. Price, Apricot Flavour Small (Size), Hard to consume, Needs more flavours
Musashi, Miyamoto – Not bad, doesn't really need a review. Good for bridging or meal replacement as a last resort, high source of protein and carbohydrates (Maltodextrin) which is great for restoring glycogen during a low carb diet, thus for maximum effectiveness would suggest using growling dog during or after your workout due to the nature/composition of the bar.… Read more
All other macros in the bar are pretty tame... as in what you would find in a standard serving of whey (the usual amino's arginine, iso, leucine, valine) surprised not to see glutamine in the macros though..Glycerol hiding up the back here as well, so yet again not bad for bringing out your vascular and insulin. Would of given five stars if fructose hadn't been listed as the SECOND ingredient, nothing bad with fructose just have a little hate towards our sneaky fat builder which inturn reinstates what I have been saying should be used during or after workout on a low carb diet to ensure that muscles will hoover up anything it can get it hands on and not our chubby buddy. Good bar, made in Aus, Best bar on shelves according to macros, cheapest by the kg aswell. "Peel and perform six inches of snarl" the abhorrent homoerotic sexual innuendo can be off-putting for some.
Good for on-the-go – Musashi Growling Dog is packed with 22% protein, or 17.5g of Protein in a 65 gram bar. It is good for convenience, when one cannot, for whatever reason, make a protein shake. This bar is a good alternative. However, it is only a good alternative, if you are wishing to fork out quite a lot of money for it. Bars are $3-$4 in the major… Read more
supermarkets.
Taste-wise, in my opinion - I recommend any flavour of the Growling Dog bar, but Apricot. In my opinion, Apricot is revolting.
Musashi Growling Dog is the best protein bar on offer on the major supermarkets. There are better alternatives online or in your local supplement store. Good for on-the-go. Most flavours taste nice. Can be a good replacement for a protein shake. Apricot flavour tastes hideous. Quite expensive - 1 bar is around $3-$4 Aussie Dollar from the supermarket.
