Love my fireplace, nice and coasy in the winter and also so nice during summer as a decoration. Love all the different setting it has.

This heater gets extremely hot and causes burns – This heater gets extremely hot and causes burns. No one at the store we purchased it from said it would get that hot. My daughter walked past it and came into slight contact with the glass that's meant to be a guard and severely burnt her arm. After speaking to the shop who said it should be warm to the touch but shouldn't cause a burn I called Rinnai to see if there was something wrong with the unit. First call was to CUSTOMER SERVICE who read me the installation manual and said "Well it's a heat source so it's going to get hot", they hand-balled me to TECHNICAL SUPPORT who said the same thing and put me on to FIRST CARE as we have had issues with the unit in the past so they said FIRST CARE would have record of that. FIRST CARE said we are just booking agents and I'd need to talk to TECHNICAL SUPPORT for advice (I had just come from this department). FIRST CARE said they can only book in a job and wanted to charge me a call out fee. So basically this heater will burn a child and the company won't know if the glass should actually get that hot. Terrible experience, please do yourself a favour and look elsewhere! We should have got the Lopi fire place we were deciding between. We had this at an Airbnb which our kids running around it and no issues. Kicking myself now!

Further to this review just letting other consumers know we had the Rinnai specialist come out and confirm it's normal for this heater's outer glass to reach 165+ degrees. I believe those specifications should be on the website instead of stating "Double glazed front - no need for a mesh guard". It actually does seem like there is a need for a mesh guard. We'll be taking this further.

Yes, they came out today and confirmed all of this. Just letting people know as nowhere on the website does it say the guard can reach such high temperatures.

Biggest waste of money – We replaced our old Rinnai gas log heater with the 750 gas fire 12 months ago and we were told by the rep it would easily heat our area. Heater is on high all day and still does not heat room and the fan is very noisy.

Purchased in at The Energy People.

Post service non existent – We installed a Rinnai 650 Gas Fire in September. It came with a wizz bang remote control that doubles as a thermometer for the room. The only problem is the batteries last a week and cost $15 to replace! Installer says the remote is giving them grief and it’s a Rinnai issue. Rinnai have been aware of the issue since March but don’t have replacement remotes. Calls to Rinnai result in long waits, call drop outs and no solution. It’s now June and not getting warmer. Brrrrr
