Love this vacuum. It is heavy and kinda self propels on thinner cachet but it works so much better better than my old Dyson. I like the little smelly thing that releases a scent when you use it. They are expensive though to replace. I love how it detects walls etc as you push along side it and it powers up and sucks up all the dirt/dust etc. I can go from carpet to vinyl easily. Hubby went to use the old Dyson the other day and I said use the shark. After a quick use of the Dyson he swapped over and was amazed at how much better the shark was! The old Dyson will go in the shed for use on the cars etc I highly recommend this and I love the extra long cord! No unplugging and plugging back in all the time.

I've had this vacuum now for a year and it's time to review. I had been using a Kirby for the last 16 years & was getting sick of how bulky it was so & also having to change attachments every time i went from carpet to hard floors, so I decided to replace it with the Shark PowerDetect. What a great machine. I love how i don't have to change attachments to go from carpet to hard floors. It has a really long cord so you don't have to change powerpoints all of the time. The little powerhead is great for cleaning your car. However, what it is lacking the most is a dusting attachment, making it not a complete cleaning machine!! I have searched everywhere to see if i can get another brand to fit it and guess what, you can't, aaargh!! So you have to use the crevice tool on your skirting, picture rails and cornice which marks your walls, totally annoying!! I did also have an issue with the cord where it split. Its not a flexible cord like you'd expect. I contacted Shark and they replaced it immediately. So 5 stars for their customer service. Would i buy this model again, no sadly i wouldn't. I want a machine where everything is on the vacuum, i don't want to have to clean each room and then go back with a different machine to dust, that's just crazy. If you are after just a vacuum & don't care about the dusting bit, though, this machine is great.
