Shard of porcelain in our dish – TL;DR - found a shard of porcelain in one of our meals. Poor customer service - food took over an hour to arrive and had to chase their management regarding the shard piece in our pancit. - I have dined here and ordered takeaway many times before and had little to no issues. But last Friday, after waiting over an hour for the food to arrive (though advised earlier it was a 45minute wait for the food which we agreed to), we found a porcelain shard of one of their plates in our pancit whilst packing it away for takeaway. We checked the plates, and none were broken so it must have been mixed in during preparation of the dish.

We notified May who was the store manager on Friday evening, who offered to contact me at a later date to provide a $37 refund for the pancit.

I never heard from May or anyone from Sir Manong until after I had to call, message both their IG and FB pages multiple times. Incredibly poor customer service.

Well Done SIR, Manong – Last Sunday I had the pleasure to have lunch here. Busy busy busy....there was a queue outside, bookings only. A sure sign we were in for a treat. Sir Manong, an interestingly decorated modern bistro-like atmosphere, without any pretention, yet comfortable and welcoming, (as all Filipinos are). I admit I could not order, but luckily, members of my family could. I learned that my fav dish was called Kari kari, fried chunks of slow cooked beef, in a peanut based gravy....then there was the famous national dish, Lechon, roasted pork knuckles with a vinegar dipping sauce. There was something like a ham steaks, with a pugnent shrimp paste ... (acquired taste), and a cast iron pan of minced pork with lots of interesting "other' bits.....I think it was called Sigsig? We also enjoyed an eggplant dish, which was panfried with scrambled egg, yummo. Anyway, we rolled out after devouring the huge amount of meat, fully satisfied. At around $35pp including lots of kalamansi juice...I'd say it's definitely worth a return visit...and I come from the Northern Beaches!! (over 40klms away). Service was good, the place was very clean, despite being crowded and running at capacity. Well done Sir!...Manong.
