Smith & Nobel HGS-1400

Hot water poured down my arm and onto the floor – I've used steamers before and they all seem to have problems or only last a few months, but none were as bad as this. I'd read one bad review and one good review about this on the store website I purchased it from. I read the instructions before use and was using it correctly. I used it in the bathroom with the clothes hanging on the bathroom door. The three seperate times I used it hot water poured out of the steamer where the electrical cord comes out near the base of the unit, down my arm and on to the floor. It was all over the sleeve and down the front of the t-shirt I was wearing - not the garment I was steaming. After attempting to steam the front of one garment, the handle became too hot to hold, and hot water came out of the lock switch onto my hand. I put it on the bench before I got scalded and saw that the bathroom floor and cabinets were all covered in water - see photos. How did it do on the clothes I was attempting to steam? Not well. I tried a fine cotton skirt - 2/10, a viscose cotton blend jacket, 3/10, and a fine viscose top that was barely creased - 5/10. I'm not using it again as it's not safe and will take it back for a refund.
