the car I was going to buy ($320) and then put a deposit down with the dealer ($200) and signed the contract. After 2 days of giving Stratton more and more information I was eventually turned down. The person I dealt with denied saying that I had 'pre-approval' (I have a witness to this and he was on loud speaker) and also denied other things that he had said. I would definitely not recommend Stratton Finance at all. I am now $520 out of pocket all based on what I was told at the beginning of the process. They also quote a much lower figure initially and then add 2% to the greatly inflated loan rate that they eventually arrive at - from originally saying 8 - 9% to a hefty 12%. Pretty poor.

The whole process was smooth, timely and well managed. When small hiccups came up, Mitch handled them calmly and efficiently without making them feel like a big deal. I never felt rushed or pressured — there was no pushy sales approach at all. Instead, he provided clear, factual information and let me make informed decisions.

from beginning to end was quick, painless and genuinely easy. With the most recent loan, even the vendor couldn’t believe the turnaround – the car was purchased on Sunday and cleared funds were received by lunchtime Tuesday. Based on past experiences, I didn’t think that was even possible.
Joel has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. He speaks plainly, sets clear expectations, is upfront about what’s possible and what isn’t, and then delivers. He under-promises and over-performs, which is rare these days.

I was promised lower repayments than what I ended up getting. The Stratton representative, Samuel McBain, did the calculations wrong. I trusted his judgement and didn't realise he was wrong until after all the paperwork was signed. We were very clear we wanted weekly repayments to be no higher than $240. about the proposed minimum monthly repayment being higher than this. He told us the minimum monthly payment ($1023.83) was times by 12 months ($12,285.96) then divided by 52 weeks, making weekly repayments $236.27. This is INCORRECT. The finance company he put us with (FirstMac) simply divides the monthly repayment by 4.
The result is a weekly repayment of $255.96.
When I tried to reach him after signing the agreement and learning this, he ignored me. No apology for his mistake.
Very disappointing. Will never put my trust in Stratton again.

- Was given misleading information, the product I was sold was chosen for a specific purpose and fast forward to me trying to utilise that facility both PLENTI loans and STRATTON were unable to assist and no one wanted to own the mistake, wouldn't recommend and ill get back to not doing reviews anymore after being burned on this one.

I had provided all my details on Friday, including that I’m new to the country and currently on probation — something he was well aware of. Despite this, he proceeded with a quote that clearly didn’t align with the lender's (Pepper Money) criteria listed on their own website.
Another issue is the lack of transparency around fees. Both Stratton’s and the lender’s charges are high, and instead of disclosing them clearly, they try to disguise these costs in the monthly repayment figure.
Overall, this experience was unprofessional, misleading, and frustrating. If you're looking for honest and reliable finance advice, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
