Pro - excellent blender; Cons - short life and difficult to clean – On one hand, this is one of the most effective stick blenders I have used. I use it 1-2 x daily to make smoothies. However it rarely lasts a year (I have had 4 in the past 4 years). Twice the bottom half stopped working, a squealing noise is the warning sound it's on it's way out (I even defrost the frozen fruit to prolong the life of the… Read more
blender).
Twice the top half has been a problem; once the rubber cover over one of the buttons broke plus the product started squealing and I knew it was on its way out (because I kept the receipt this time it was replaced for free). On my current one only the bottom button works, the top button stopped working in less than six months. As I have moved it is not convenient to exchange it this time. So when this one dies I am not buying another one.
The other issue is that it gets food residue on the inside of the bottom half where the blade rotates. It is extremely difficult to clean even with hot soapy water, soaked and well shaken, the barrel is too narrow to get a cleaning brush in to it. I persisted with this product because it works so well but there are a lot of draw backs.
Poor quality product – Can’t beat 500ml muffin mix . sparked never work again . Wast of money . Wast of time to get warranty claim and saying can’t get money back . Can’t even do small job Show details
Excellent – I purchased this the Stickmaster as a replacement for an older stick blender, and was looking for one without extra accessories, this being the only stick blender fitting that description. It has the obligatory jug, only. Having used it for 3 weeks, for smoothies, I cannot comment on the longevity of the motor, however I am very happy with the… Read more · 2
product, It works well, and, with no crevices to collect food, it's a dream to clean and I really like the click/twist action to detach from the motor section. I'm yet to use it for soups or dips. Note: In my first review, I mentioned that I found the supplied beaker a tad narrow. It was obviously the manner in which I was using the Stickmaster, to which I now give 5 stars. The beaker comes with a cover, which acts as a non-slip stand, when blending. .
Perfect for making smoothies – This powerful motor is perfect for making morning smoothies or evening cocktails. Although it's questionable when attempting to make Hummus. Its able to crush ice and if making a batch of pumpkin soup its great to for pureeing with. Making baby food has been a breeze with this. Show details
Sparked and no longer works – The first time I used it, there was so much noise and vibration. I sprayed WD40 into the stick part, to lubricate the bearings, and it improved. The base with the blades has a much smaller intake area than my previous (a 23 year old Bamix) stick blender, which I found awkward for trying to get a soup evenly blended. I had used it once a week, for less than two months, before there was a spark and it died. I do not recommend this product. Show details
Sparking motor – This was fine the first few times I used it. The turbo feature was a bit too much vibration but it certainly blended my pumpkin soups very well - and made batter for pancakes perfect and fluffy! Then it decided to spark internally after I pressed the button a few times quickly in a row. There was a sharp electric blue glow in the motor region and… Read more
the handle felt immediately warm. I thought maybe it just overheated or something so stopped using it. I foolishly thought I'd be brave and try it again another day but it sparked almost straight away, this time while using the masher attachment. Definitely a motor problem. So now I am never going to use it again as I don't want to be electrocuted. The last handheld mixer I had was a Kambrook one from a couple of years back. I do wonder what the life of the next handheld mixer I get is going to be as the Kambrook one also started sparking after some time, but that was after a year or two, not after a few uses!
And I still have the receipt. For some reason it's still on my desk, I haven't thrown it out, how odd. Guess I'll be taking it back to the poor store guy. Maybe I'll get a Braun next time, they seem to have good reviews...
Do Not Buy – Very disappointing product. Used twice to whip cream and blend cake mix. Motor then died. Had followed instructions - a total waste of money. Back to Bamix I go, as my last one went for 27 years
