feature is Blackout Power Failure#Protection. When a Power Failure occurs, the charged handset temporarily supplies power to the base unit. You can then make and receives calls using a handset " i am gob smacked!! there is so many other features but this is a game changer!! if I could give 6 starts or even 10 i would.. lack of availability to block numbers – Bought it for use with my business. we provide bookings over the phone, and when booking are a "no show", we block them. this system lets you block customer number that make fake bookings, but only has around 50 numbers you can block. but at least i can block 1000's of "no shows" and use the Uniden XDECT to answer calls in 3 spaces within our business by connecting to blutooth on the mobile to Uniden system.

connect to your mobile phones address book but has the following drawbacks Phone address book is always slow to connect - 5 seconds Caller ID does not work for mobile phone book entries - could be due to the next issue but also may be a limitation due to the slow connection as previous My mobile is used in multiple countries so I put + and the ISD prefix for all phone numbers , unfortunately the fixed phone network does understand this so I cannot phone on my landline using the mobile phone address book - it should of had a feature to translate the + to the ISD prefix for the country since it connects to Mobile phones

I find the phone sound clear, although I tend to use them on speaker , I bought a five hand sets set - seemed good value - thus included a waterproof handset which is possibly slightly less clear in audio quality you cannot use in speaker mode whilst in the cradle - but this is almost ubiquitous , but I have had at least two sets which do work in speaker mode the cradle but it is never mentioned in reviews

It's a dud – This phone has all sorts of bells and whistles but fails on the most basic functions - ie it is a cordless phone for home use. specific headphone because it uses a smaller plug (2.5) than every other telephonic device in existence, so you can't buy better quality headsets if you are hard of hearing. The headphone it uses had only one earpiece. I only discovered this when my old headset started dying and I needed a replacement. As other reviewers have said, the red charging light flashes all the time and it seems impossible to manage the number of rings before pickup. It also has limited ring tones. This phone has been a waste of money. The only good thing is that it has forced me to use my mobile more often. At least I can use another better quality headset. Don't buy this phone

changeover plan (it is not your provider) & is at no cost to the individual person. I sincerely hope the steps that I needed to take will help others with the same problem. Firstly (if you don't have your legitimate pin number your provider will tell you what it is so you need to have that first) then set up your voicemail by dialing 125101 & follow the prompts, you can then listen to & delete those messages, then the little envelope will disappear & the light will stop flashing, obviously it will start again when you receive another message then just dial 101 to answer it. All of the other suggested methods that I have tried/followed in the past (for the odd ones that worked) they only worked for 20-30 minutes before returning to the same problems, however I do thank everyone for their suggestions. jojo

pairing once we had the phonebooks downloaded. The phone seems very clear and easy to use. My main complaint (hence 4 stars) is the very limited and polyphonic ringtones. Even our now retired model offered Beethoven's Ninth (which we assigned to family members). With all this in-built tech, how hard would it be to offer more selections?

the distributer to make an enquiry and they just said to turn up the volume ????... If that doesn't work, bring it in for us to test, if it's no good we will replace it. I cannot complain about the service from the distributer in that respect. There is NO guarantee that the next one will be any different though??

Doesn't take messages from mobile phones! – Hard to use and astonishingly it does not accept messages from mobiles. You don't even get the recorded message if you are the mobile caller it just rings for a set period then hangs up. Show details

We have been calling Telstra quite frequently trying to solve our phone issues. We were told that our Uniden XDECT 5135 is too old, so on 19/12/20 we bought a new XDECT 8355+1 at JB Hi-Fi Caringbah. Unfortunately, this new phone is still giving us the same problems (as mentioned above).

Recently, we were provided with a new Telstra Smart Modem Gen2, which was installed last Friday 30/1/21. The same phone issues occurred again the next day. It is a stressful experience.

Every Caller is Unknown and Hangs up – New unit bought due to extra handsets. Set up to Telstra NBN modem, all incoming calls receive the Voice Alert Unknown Caller and hangs up. Thought this unit would be good for my aging father due to ability to have a 12 ring pickup and Message Recording but is currently Useless. Useless – Our old Uniden DSS2475 must have lasted well over ten years until I dropped a handset one too many times. It provided all the facilities we required, including a working handset in our shed which is about 40m from the base station. and, crucially, did not reconnect to the base station when the weather cleared. I had to remove and replace the battery to force it to reconnect and have had to do so many times since. The system has lots of bells and whistles which we don't need but fails to perform its core function as an "extended long range" phone system.

Great little cordless smart phone – I am extremely happy with this because I can link it to my iPhone via bluetooth and charge my iPhone and my iPad via the USB Charging Port so I don't need any wall chargers also I can import my Phonebook from my iPhone as well so I'll be very happy using it when I move into my unit in June 2020.

Bluetooth Connection Useless – I have paired my mobile... connection fails.. I continually repeat the pairing... shortly pairing fails Uniden phone cannot find mobile... site it says "message bank on nbn cannot be cancelled". So I will never be able to get the message bank on Uniden to work. I am returning fro a full refund.

Unreliable - Would not buy again nor recommend – I bought this phone because it has bluetooth capability to my mobile phone ,about 4 months ago. phone call in a hurry! The worst part is when it drops out during a phone call especially if have just rung a call centre or the like! You will never get back to the same person and have to go through the whole conversation AGAIN! Also, one of my cradle chargers have stopped charging. Very poor quality for Uniden and most disappointing especially as this is not a cheap phone. I have bought many uniden phones in the past - I should have realised to stay clear of them - if they were good quality then i wouldn't be replacing them so frequently. You have definitely lost a long standing customer - I have finally woken up!

Call Block Pro is not what you'd hope – We bought this phone for the Call Block PRO. But the scammers programatically change the number they call from as fast as you block the last one. It seems there is no way to 100% prevent these calls. The Uniden Call Block PRO might temporarily slow nuisance calls down but it won't stop them. Show details

lives have gone back to being peaceful. I did have to call Uniden technical assistance to explain a small feature and they were extremely helpful and sorted out the problem straight away.

Great phones ready for NBN – We are about to change over to the NBN and I found that my old Telstra phones won't be any good with VOIP. book and allocate to speed dials just needed a bit of patience. My old phone cut coverage just outside back door but this right to end of long garden with full bars. Fantastic now I can hear and answer my mobile anywhere before unless in same room or close couldn’t hear it. couldn't believe such a basic function was missing. Given that my old Uniden takes landline and mobile, no issue. And that the majority of calls today come from mobiles this makes the voice messaging service redundant!! Even more annoying nowhere does it warn you about this lack of basic feature before you buy it. Not on the box not on the blurb on the website. It's not until you get it home and have spent some time working through the set up that you turn the page in the manual and only there does it say that the messaging works only with landlines. My heart sank. Very disappointed with the waste of time, energy and money. Tomorrow I will be returning it to HN and asking for a refund as the phone fails to deliver on a very basic function. computer desktop for reference, it is hard to follow. Too many bugs in the phone system because it is an attempt to do too many things. I use it with VOIP. But that is not the source of the errors. Strongly suggest that you look for a phone that links more easily to Samsung or iPhone system of operation. Uniden insists of using a proprietary Uniden approach which is still a bad mix of analohue and digital.

or mobile directly from the handset at the push of a button. Simply select the mobile or home button to choose which device you wish to answer/call from. Handy if your mobile is in another room when a call comes through. You can quickly answer it from the Uniden base handset. The unit also has a USB port for charging your mobile and Bluetooth technology.

Uniden claims that you can still use the phone during a power outage. Fortunately, I haven't had an outage yet to test that. They, however, do not state for how long the unit will be able to work during that outage but do say a handset has to remain on the base and it won't work well if that handset doesn't have a full charge, to begin with. Still, I guess its an option and better than none at all. I do wonder though if that applies to the NBN network. If the powers goes out then you'd have no internet, with the NBN network, if you have no internet, you have no home phone, so all this may be a mute point.

Overall, I'm very happy with the phone and LOVE the ability to block calls on it. If you want to block a number it's very easy to do on this unit, something I've not had the ability to do on a home phone before. In writing this I have discovered I can' find my receipt :( I believe I paid $185 for the unit which was well under the $249 prices I saw elsewhere.

My one huge issue with this phone - the instruction book. It's all over the shop. The worst instruction book that's supposedly written in English I've ever read. Give it up and use Youtube if you get stuck.

Old tech – Considering this is the 21st century the technology and ease of access to this phone is bewildering. Have you heard of touch screens and a settings icon......seriously this phone is crap. Sound is not clear and it continually tries to connect to my mobile even though my phone is already connected to a wireless headset.
