Excellent heater - incredible value for money I’m using this 8kW heater on my 5-metre Jarcat catamaran during Australian winter and have been genuinely impressed. After about 10 nights of use it has been completely reliable, produces an enormous amount of heat and is surprisingly economical. Running at 2-3/10 for an 8-hour night uses around 2.5-3 litres of diesel. One 14-hour overnight run used about 4.5 litres. Power consumption once running is very low, although startup draws a decent amount of current, so connect it directly to your battery rather than through an MPPT controller.

The fuel pump does tick, but with the heater mounted outside at the opposite end of the boat it’s barely noticeable, especially with a small cabin fan circulating warm air. My cabin actually became too warm and I ended up opening a hatch!

A couple of tips: never turn the heater off by disconnecting the power. Let it complete its normal cool-down cycle every time. It’s also worth running it on full power for 20 minutes each use to help keep the burner clean.

The display doesn’t appear waterproof, so I’d recommend covering it from rain or heavy dew.

For just $110, on sale, delivered (Sydney to Newcastle in only 4 days), I honestly don’t think there’s better value available. Great for boats, caravans, rooftop tents, camper trailers, garages and sheds. Highly recommended.

Great value, easy install, heats well, arrived in Adelaide with in 2 days from ordering. Exceeded my expectations. As its a diesel heater the fuel pump makes a a ticking sound when operational so I replaced the pump with a quieter one from Amazon for $40 very, simple change over, plenty on youtube. All diesel heaters will click so I was expecting it but the new pump halves the noise. It might be a problem if you want to sleep when its operating depending on your habits.

Heating your home is getting more expensive every year. Being on a fixed income, I aim to save where I can. I go camping, preferably autumn/winter, but getting old, means I feel the cold. The solution a 5kW diesel heater, to keep me warm. At home, despite having solar and storage, I wanted to further reduce my usage. Then it hit me, the big brother 8kW diesel heater.

A quick online search and an 8kW diesel heater arrived. Being the 'horizontal' version it is all but self contained. I needed only provide a 12v 15A power source, enter a 240v transformer, sorted.

With a 5L fuel tank, and consumption of between 0.16-0.62 L/h, so you can expect around 8-10 hours of run time.

Capable of heating 269 sqft or ~24 sqm, it is more than able to warm a large living area.

With three ways to control the heater, controls on board, a remote they provide or my preferred, Bluetooth on my phone.

I have it installed into my loungeroom, and despite a sub 10°C outside temp, at level 6 of 10, it happily maintained the lounge at a comfortable 19°C, while the nearby back-door was open for the doggo.

When it comes to noise, the Vevor 8kW diesel heater is very quiet.

As a way to keep my house warm, with little to no power usage, this is perfect.
