Expensive product quickly turns to lump of [cr] rubbish – Product worked at about 3 out of 10 . Tried to use 3 months later , My $60 bottle had turned to a solid lump of useless crap. Dont waste your money , There are better products around. Difficult product to use – Product had separated. I returned it to another store and it was replaced but second container also had separated. Directions for use state to stir for 5 minutes but 500ml product comes in a plastic container with a small screw top lid. Could not pour product out or stir in container. stirred thoroughly, consistency similar to a chunky pancake mix and difficult to apply with a brush (as directed). Application not smooth enough for primer/topcoats. Seemed to convert rust once applied. Unsure whether this a product fault or just been on the shelf but had the same problem with products from 2 stores. A product that requires stirring should at least be in a container which allows this.

Works well if only – My second 500ml bottle has become a solid lump of goo. Brand new from the shop. Day temps are 12-26deg so not frozen. Tried adding water (clean up) to thin the product but no good. Still a slippery solid mass of goo? Like a tub of soft butter. Cost over $50 - wasted. Show details

same issue ie product was almost solid and was unusable. Again, I doubt I will find the receipt and will have to throw that away also. Not happy and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!! Having read other similar reviews, I will never buy White Knight products again.

Not happy with this changed product – The product has changed. I've used the old one for 20+ years. I was not notified about the change except for the label it does not work a swell and it now sticks and look like semi translucent, white cream on paint when dry, did not do this before. very upset about wasting my petrol and time going back and forth to Bunnings for a refund, when I should not have to do, if the product was clearly marked "New Formula"

Beginning of the end for White Night – Absolutely disgusting for a company to change a Formula "at will" and not making it Clear on the New label. cannot treat painted or clean up the rust on chrome wheel rims anymore, without being extra careful Not to get it on the black rubber tire because this new formula will not easy come off black rubber, when its dry. HOW CAN ANYONE TRUST A NEW RUST CONVERTER FORMULA, It takes years of use and trial time to see if it actually works. It has taken me 20 years with the Old Rust Guard, now you want me to start again, you got to be joking.

Works well for me – Mixed reviews on here. It works just fine for me on farm equipment, slashers, Tractors. We live close to the coast so salt drift has always been a problem causing rust over the years. Weird that some people find it bad and others good ? Show details ·  1

outback, generally hot and dry. I had no problems with drying but I did coats on successive days. About a year ago, so perhaps the formula has been changed recently.

Review for White Knight Rust Guard Primer in grey – I went to Bunnings to get some killrust primer and paint for my new welding cart I made from steel. time. Three days later and the primer is soft so I can't paint it yet. I'm going to get some turps and wipe it off. I have thrown the expensive can of Rust Guard in the bin and will be going back to my old favourite - killrust.

Rust guard, not easy to use but does what it says – I have used this product for many years on my custom bikes and cars. Not easy to use, prep is everything and it takes a week to go hard after topcoat, but when set it is bulletproof. I painted a set of Harley fork lowers with the etch primer and then gloss black, they look great 7 years on. Also painted chrome after sanding and etch, looks great and very hard to chip. Crappiest Paint On The Market – This paint is crap!!! Do not use it. It wrecked 2 of my $200 dollar paint guns. You cant thin it cause it eats the thinners up and it clogs the gun and the gun just sprays air. By brush the coverage is poor and will not surfice your needs. I ended up using Watyl kill rust and that stuff paints and thins like a dream. If you buy this rust guard just throw your money away now.

use all three (eg. sand / scrape to remove loose rust and old paint first and lightly sand between coats of primer and topcoat). I found drying time varied depending on atmospheric conditions, the best being low humidity and above 15C, mostly it was touch dry within 30 mins but leave for a few hours to harden off. Topcoat comes in a few different colours both in tin and spray and is compatible with Colourbond colours. Yes, it may be time consuming but produced an acceptable finish. Plan ahead and tackle small sections if repainting a trailer for instance. The spray Topcoat is handy for tricky areas.

Better of the available options – I am not a 'professional'.. i have however restored several vehicles over the years and believe this to be the better of the available options on the australian market. Rust converter is not a miracle worker, it is however a useful tool to get rid of light surface rust before paining. I would suggest you follow the instructions of any product carefully. Quite powerful concentrate Sticky afterwards
