Subscription scam – Been playing xbox360 for quite a bit now - upgraded to xbox1s. Don’t like the digital only aspect. Furthermore I paid to download a game - only to find out I couldn’t access the game without paying for a game pass - to play..the game.. the 12 month Gold into 4 months of Ultimate. Why would that even be an option? Xbox Gold 12 months is $79.95, 4 months ultimate is $62.00. It’s deceptive and misleading (maybe unless you are an avid gamer or IT expert) to force people to swap something they bought for something worth less (in both value and duration), without making it explicitly clear, even so, surely it’s theft to replace a purchase with something of less value (Just like if you went and purchased a new BMW but in all your paperwork, there was a clause that you didn’t read, that says you are swapping it for a similar Toyota. When you ask where’s your BMW, they show you the paperwork... I call that misleading and deceptive conduct). I have lodged a formal complaint and requested a refund or the return of the Gold Live 12 month subscription. I’ll update when I hear back from them.

Overall a great console with just a few hiccups – I purchased the Xbox One S after my original Xbox One began lagging and could not keep up with the graphics required by some of the newer games released. ergonomic during long hours of use than others. The connectivity has no problems from much further distances to the console. The reactivity is great and highly responsive, and the HDR capabilities means that games and viewing are MUCH more visually impressive. The lag times are noticeably fewer on the One S, and it has the capacity for 4K and in the times of insolation where the cinemas are closed, movie watching is about as magnificent as it can get (unless watched on the One X). One downside is that the original One S console does not have much memory, meaning that storage for more than a few data-hungry games will incur a higher cost with the 1 or 2 TB bundles. Another is that being an Xbox, it requires a lot of updates, and the time taken to download (depending on internet speed), can extend to overnight. Overall this console can do all that you require it to do, but the constant downloads become annoying over time.

Excellent Console, Good controller – I upgraded from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox 1s and I am happy I did. The console is amazing and runs really smooth. and I can't fault it what so ever. The controller is the only thing I am a little disappointed with. The controller functions fine and I love that the triggers have their own independent vibrating mech in them but the feeling is quite cheap and poorly made. I bought the Xbox genuine charge and play battery with mine and half the time it wouldn't charge. I ended up going on eBay and buying a cheap charge cradle with batteries and this has solved that issue, however, the controller still fees quite cheap!

I am very happy with the unit though, Nothing has gone wrong and the controller, while feeling cheap, has lasted with no issues. I can't say the same for my PS45 mates who have controller issues all the time!

Great product cheap yet good – The xbox one s is a good console recommend getting it. Great value got it for $250 with games. and it doubs as a Blu-ray DVD player so it's really two for the price of 1

Exactly what I wanted – I'm happy with the performance of this console. I will say great value for money. I've been using this for past 10 month and it did not disappoint me with the overall performance.

Best value for a 4K Blue-Ray player – The Xbox One S is one of the best consoles Xbox has made, since it’s about 100% better than the original Xbox One! It’s more powerful, and it’s about $100 less than a 4K Blue-Ray player, not forgetting that this IS an Xbox, and you get the excellent quality of the software and games Xbox has to offer. Even though Xbox series X is coming out soon, I still think that this is a great buy, as prices are dropping. I highly recommend this console.

Pathetic console – I have had the xbox one s for a couple of years now, and it just amazes me how many times it is either broken, not downloading or responding. console is often very laggy when moving through the menus. Also, there are constant system update failures or hard disk corruption's, which restricted you from even opening the console. I have had this happen to me twice meaning that i have too delete all my progress from my xbox one s. Combine this with a controller that never works results in a terrible gaming experience. I have purchased 3 controllers for the xbox one, and not a single one has worked more than 3 months. Its just outrageous for a top quality console .It gets to the point where I don't even bother playing games anymore. It is just sooooo frustrating. If your planning on buying a console don't bother with this embarrassing piece of tech.

It's Terrible & Horrible takes forever to install & starts eating up all the space in the console – The only reason there is only 1 star, that's because the graphics is great, otherwise it would be no star option. took 3 hours of installing then stopped halfway saying that the disk is damaged... If you keep going at this rate of installing games you run out of space, then what?... buy another hd?... xbox original was better for gaming. You put the disk in and your away. This is terrible in terms of just trying to play a game..... I would suggest not getting this xbox one s. When you run out of space, they make you want to buy more, installation takes forever even with the disk - rather it's install game first before playing even with the disk so waiting time is 10 times longer, not forgetting you need unlimited internet access as some data required to download is over 60gigs for certain games. Products that they want you to sign up too or other purchases via the console, it's not for the purpose of entertainment or playing games but to make you spend more after purchasing this console.....

Save your Money – This has some ok benefits for TV viewing, but as a gaming console it is rubbish. The games are ordinary with too much focus on paid subscriptions and add ons. if you walk away and leave it open. Too Bad...you just paid for something you didnt want. And dont expect a refund, which took 2 hours to negotiate just to apply for one.

There is little to know support when it has issues, and I have had plenty.

I guess everyone in the gaming world already knows this is a crap machine, but hopefully I can save a few souls.

couple of times for it to pick up on it. The screen quality is very good and the game options you have are wide, especially with Xbox Gamepass. One of the problems I encountered with the games is the limited space. Other then that this is a great console I highly recommend to anybody interested in gaming.

Perfect for what we need – Great range of games and apps. Gives us netflix for the kids to use in the other room and games to play when i want to wind down after a big day/week

Better than base – Upgraded from the original Xbox One to this. Very happy with the S. 4k is easy to set up and in conjunction with a 4k tv this console and games look fantastic. Very happy. If all you want is 4k ability the S is all you need.

Great gaming console with wide range of features to use – Have owned since Xmas and am really enjoying it, picture quality on games is great, loading times and game installs are quick, hard drive size is adequate for my needs, only gripe I have is constant issues with headset connectivity to the controller, seems to be very temperamental at times

Like the versatility - console + media box – Nice console which is now going quite cheap. As expected, you got to have paid subscription and got to download all the games. Now what I really like is that this XBox can also be a nice media player - Netflix, Stan, YouTube, Blu-Ray etc, all in 4K with 7.1 sound. It can also turn on/off TV and sound systems when turned on/off itself.

Xbox one s – Have to download absolutely everything. Takes far too long to download games. Not good if you have a very impatient autistic child. Wish I never bought the damn thing now as it's a joke

Ok but not annoying as you need to pay subscription play online – Got this to play one game with my friend and realise that I have to pay subscriptions play online . PC games it free to play online not this expensive little sucker . Oh well , my fault for not finding thing out before buying .

Better because The power brick is Built in – Love it. One of the best gaming consoles to be out. Good for Netflix and streaming on. Also good for playing with family and friends. Would 100% recommend it. X

Great power; poor UI – Good quality processor that provides optimal speed when completing tasks i.e. loading discs etc however can be quite hard to navigate compared to the PlayStation 4 as an example. Great for watching 4K movies though! :)

Games have to be loaded onto xbox even if you have disc, get a decent memory size, but you can buy external harddrive to expand which is good.

also if your internet is slow updates take 1-2 days to install.

Great console for the kids – Great product fir the kids room with 4k streaming netflix app and Microsoft edge. Got 1tb drive and graphics are great to. Got free game tokens plus live memberships and 1 month game pass all in a bundle with a price hard to beat.

install a game even though I had bought a disk. Game constantly crash even though it appears on console for ready to play. Why does it have to install a game when I have paid $100 for a disk??? With having PS4 where game starts as soon as you insert the disk. So now I am typing this review while my game is getting installed and progress is at 3% only. Horrible horrible experience:(

Good but really need internet – The Xbox one S is good for gaming with amazing graphics, sound quality and overall feel of play. The user interface is easy to navigate to download games, apps, music and watch shows. The bad things about the Xbox one S is that if you don’t have internet connectivity it makes it hard to really enjoy the console. So glad I bought this – Brought this Xbox for the sole purpose of watching Netflix on my tv but when I received a game pass with my Xbox I decided to look at the game and now I’m playing FREE games in amazing graphics I love it so Much that I now play online with friends. What's even less appreciable is that for users who already own a high end gaming PC would really have no need to get an Xbox, because Microsoft's Play Anywhere program lets you buy the games on the game store (e.g Forza, ReCore, Quantum Break) and play all the biggest first party games on the PC, with all the best graphical settings and higher than 60FPS framerates. You'd also have to pony up roughly $60 to $70 a year to remain subscribed to the Xbox Live Gold service, which enables multiplayer mode. So that's even less of a reason to get an Xbox if you're already a member of the "pcmasterrace."

Xbox 360 backwards compatibility is a major plus. There's a hundred or so older X360 titles that will work on the XB1S, however there won't really be any graphical improvements when playing older games on newer hardware. If you own a bunch of Xbox 360 games and still want to play them, it's worth considering upgrading to the XB1.

On the media side of things, this is where the Xbox shines. The Xbox with it's usual RRP of $219~$300 means it's a fairly cheap price to pay for something that not only plays games, but also handle 4K Blu-rays, 4K Netflix and stream from various Internet media sources. It does have a few kinks to work out with H265 and subtitled / captioned video support when playing a locally attached hard drive.

Should you buy it? That depends on what you currently own. PC gamers might struggle to find a reason to play games on the Xbox since the PC equivalents play and run smoother, but if you're looking for a great media center for the living room, take a look around for the cheaper Xbox One S bundles. They are sometimes cheaper than getting a dedicated Blu-Ray player, and they have more capabilities to boot. If you don't own any gaming hardware and want a cheap way to jump online and play, get the Xbox.

in a sleep type mode to keep it updated otherwise you wait hours for it to update. The second drawback was the disparity in lip synch when you run it through a surround sound system. You cannot get the audio to synch with the visual. The mouths are still moving after the audio has stopped. It may only be a second or less but it really bugs me. This occurs with 4K Ultra HD disc and with apps like Netflix and Stan. Nothing within the sound menu will rectify this. From the blogs I have read this is a failing of Xbox One S. So, for gameplay I can recommend this but for anything else look into dedicated 4K Ultra HD or Blu Ray player.

Great console. Not 4K – Loved Xbox since for 10 years or more. Was really excited to get the Xbox one S because it was advertised being 4K. However it's not, it still looks great but not 4K

Best gaming console – Xbox one is an amazing product. You Dan watch Netflix, play music, gaming etc You don’t have to buy the physical game as you can buy a digital copy. Had mine for over 2 years and is still going strong. I also purchased an additional Xbox one hard drive. I also purchased the rechargeable controller stock so I don’t go through 1,000’s of batteries. Highly recommend.
