Unfortunately I have to report that I am thoroughly disappointed by this pool cleaner. I purchased one of the more expensive ones based on the pool shop's recommendation. It came with 2 years warranty. The first repair was required after approximately 12 months when the land power unit irreparably failed and needed a complete replacement. The… Read more

second failure occurred just before its warranty expired and was the robot itself, it needed extensive repair/replacement to all its parts (control panel, motor, tracks etc). Now, another 6 months on, it has another complete failure. Given it is out of warranty, likely the cost of the repair will be cost prohibitive. Also, given its track record, it is likely to fail again soon after. Please do not buy this unit. It appears to be made of low quality components (all plastic bleached and started cracking after only a year, now at 2.5 years old it looks like it will disintegrate if you look at it a bit strong) that not only look aged quickly but fail quickly too.

Very happy about it! – I was worried at first after reading the review here but when we got ours from pool robot Australia north parramatta, we were very happy about it! It works as described. It does an excellent job picking up all the debris including dirt and leaves. No cable tangling, it doesn’t climb and clean stairs which is understandable considering how big it… Read more ·  1

is. The setup was easy if you followed the book and we ensure we got good wifi coverage outside. The app is a bit basic but functional enough. The lift function is cool to bring it back on surface without having to tug the cable ( big no no! ) The robot is quite heavy at 11kg. Solid build. We don’t leave it in the pool when it is not cleaning either.

Faulty, or just useless, I can't work it out, no help from service department – Don't bother buying a zodiac cleaner. Day 2 reasonably clean pool, error messages showing up on the app and cleaner stops working after 2 hours. Day 3 same after an hour, day 4 same except it wouldn't restart. Lots of different error messages, and no reason for any of them. I messaged the manufacturer and they told us they could not come out to… Read more

look for 3 weeks. We bought this bases on them having a supposedly good reputation. I guess they don't really want to keep that reputation. So I emptied the cleaner again, and left it there unused till the service tech came out. He put it in the pool and it worked for 10 minutes so he said it's fine. Basically this cleaner is supposed to be a quality product but is no more than junk, and the manufacturer doesn't seem to be able to sort it out. They have now stopped responding to my messages. I have also asked the shop I purchased it from to contact their sales rep so I can speak to somebody there. No such luck from that avenue either. I have an expensive plastic garden ornament and it doesn't even suit my garden. Do not bother buying a zodiac cleaner.

Breaks often, doesn't clean properly, always gets tangled, too expensive – I have owned the EX6050 iQ for almost 3 years now. I have raised several warranty claims over this time, it has had 2 failed motors and 2 failed cables. The unit also doesn't pair properly with the iPhone App (hopefully they have fixed this by now). I fear that as soon as the 3 year warranty period ends, it will break again and I'll be out of… Read more

luck. The unit cost $2,950 and is not worth it.

Every time I phone Zodiac, they are rude, unhelpful and offensive. Here are some of the comments they have said to me on the phone, "It's not our responsibility to explain our products to you." "You have no idea what you are doing." "You're an amateur." "Go ask your pool shop." "Go find a better pool shop."

The cleaner never gets up on to the large bench seat, so it is always dirty here. The cleaner gets tangled every cycle and so it then cannot reach the whole length of the pool.

It is made of plastic internal gears and bushings which wear out. I have to pay to replace all these plastic components with their "tune-up kit". The kit alone is $150.

Regarding this comment, "It's not our responsibility to explain our products to you." That was in response to me asking what salt level I should use for my Zodiac chlorinator. She told me to read the manual, I said I had read the manual, but the value in the manual was different to the pool shop advice. So she told me a different ppm to use, and when I said that it is different from the manual, she barked at me and told me I'm an amateur and don't know what I'm doing.

It's not just this product, it is Zodiac / Fluidra / Astral in Australia, they are horrible to their customers, their products break often and are expensive to repair. I hope they go bankrupt.

Works well until it doesn’t – My EX6000 died in November well within its 3 year warranty. The Fluidra people tried to diagnose the problem remotely and sent a replacement part. This didn’t fix the failing of the cleaner so here I am in the second half of February and there has been no advice from Fluidra as to when I’m getting a repair or replacement. Missing out on a summer… Read more

of cleaning really dims the utility of this cleaner! July update: The robot was fixed and it ran for a few weeks until a communication error came up. My cleaner has been out of action for a few months and no repair has been arranged. My pool gets ditier by the day. DO NOT BUY A HIGH TECH ROBOT CLEANER! - and definitely not a Zodiac.

Best pool cleaner for Peble crete pools – I have owned a Zodiac VX50 for 6 years and it failed this year with a failed bearing on the pump motor, due to leaving it the pool 24/7. I tried a Maytronics AW6 track unit in my pool as the reviews for the Dolphin/Maytronics units were so positive. I was amazed that the Maytronics pool cleaner could not climb the walls or get out of the deep… Read more

centre are of my pool. As all the Maytronics/Dolphin units are similar I assumed that trying other units would be a waste of time. I settled for the proven Zodiac unit in the wifi cable Evolux EX5050. Works like a charm and the dual filter is definitely an improvement on the single filter design. I must say though it is almost identical to the VX50, so I am keeping the old unit for motor spares. This time round however, I will be pulling it out of the pool to give it a break occasionally.

To be totally honest, it's garbage! – Bought this after chatting through all the different robotic pool cleaners available in the store I went to. Even though this product was the most expensive it seemed to fit what we needed better than anything else, plus it looks cool right! Unfortunately, we have been very disappointed with it. It is supposed to map the pool and work out the best… Read more

way to clean it but I'm not sure this is what it does. After several uses the walls of my fibreglass pool look worse than they ever have done, there's huge parts it has completely missed, it hasn't managed to clean the corners of the pool, has never attempted the wide steps, and I think I've seen it try the waterline about 3 times in total then it ignores that completely. It does pick up leaves but being on acreage we also have dirt which it just picks up and spits out the back making the water cloudy for a while. I've tried all the different cleaning settings and nothing seems to make it do what it's supposed to. The only feature that's great is the lift system where it climbs the wall ready for you to remove it.

Worst cleaner I have ever owned – Purchased above 2020. Have owned 7 pools in 3 states. This is the worst pool cleaner I have ever owned . The cord from the control module just continually tangles and restricts the movement of the cleaner. Near impossible to unravel in or out of the water . It cleans well enough (dust, leaves , twigs etc) and cleaning is easy but the cord is an… Read more

absolute disaster. I check it every half hour and try and straighten /untangle cord but to no avail. Suggest you look elsewhere... also pretty heavy to lift.

Great product shame about the Australian distributor – Great product but bad company. This is a great product and does a good job. The 1st one I had lasted less than a year and failed. That can happen. It was return to the local agent. The Aus company flouridra has zero communication’s after a month of my insistence I got to talk to a rep. His 1st comment was he knew nothing about it & thought It had… Read more

been lost. It was eventually returned and wasn’t working so back to the same pool shop. It took another month and twice 90 minutes on hold we got a new replacement. A zero rating would be too high for the company but the product is great. I’ve asked others in the industry and they feel the same. Two months without a cleaner is a problem. Having to try and get answers from this company was the last straw.

Wish we had one sooner – So good we have a island in our swim out we put a brick on the lead so it can’t go all the way around can go just pass Half way from both sides of the island then turns around also we needed the extra lead as we have a 20 Man spa above the pools waterfall and is easy enough to carry up to spa the button to drive up to surface to lift out is a… Read more ·  1

great feature without having to pull on the lead very happy we also have a jacaranda tree hanging over some of the pool so lots of rubbish from that and it does a great job as it doesn’t affect the skimmer box it is fully independent from the filtration system
