things in particular:
1. I wanted my photos to be available locally without being tied to iCloud. So I bought the 1tb model. 2. I wanted excellent battery life. So I bought the pro max.
2 years of ownership and Apple has failed on both points. The battery life post iOS 26 is middling to bad. I am lucky to get a full day out of it. The entire point of buying the flagship was to be able to use it all day. The phone has been babied with the battery capped at 80% and it still has 96% life according to Apple.
As for the 1tb storage it was a waste of time buying it. Apple through their sloppy software engineering have made it impossible to download photos off the phone using the USB connection, despite the phone having USB-C. I plug the phone into my computer and it refuses point blank to show me my full photo collection. I have tried all combinations of USB-C cables, this is a solved problem for virtually all tech companies except Apple. It’s pretty obvious that Apple wants people to pay for their overpriced cloud subscriptions, so they deliberately cripple what should be basic functionality.
I’ve had a gut full of all their products. From their poor quality Siri voice assistant, they’re baked in obsolescence of their computers, even their AirPods won’t connect most of the time due to some Bluetooth issues.
This will be my last iPhone. I’ll be buying a phone that gives me full control next time.

contacted every possible person in Apple, they are unable to have this issue resolved which is why I have no option but to caution anyone else buying an iPhone to ensure you do not waste your money.
I have been a huge fan of Apple's product quality since 2014, when I gave up on PCs and Android devices in favour of Apple. I have enjoyed the very best product quality, and after sales support. I own over $45,000 worth of Apple gear and would have continued to invest, until this week when I have found out that their latest updates to security creates this issue.
YOu never expect a company that is this big to screw up like this, but then you realise that their size is th reason they can charge the prices they do and also the reason they can choose to do as they please without taking into consideration customers who have paid.
Here is where I will go into the details so you can read on if you are interested... this is what I have shared with Apple - but they cannot help.
The apple account was originally set up to resolve iMessage and syncing issues between my iPhone and MacBook Pro. Both devices I have owned for a long time and was giving them to a family sharing (iCloud+) member to use. Last week, my MacBook Pro was successfully reinstalled with the assistance of a senior member of your Apple Support team in Brisbane, this took over 4hrs as I was first dealing with Phillipine support people who told me the Mac Book Pro would need to be taken to a third party service centre as the 500GB SDD was damaged, that was shocking.
Following their guidance, I created a new Apple ID for the other person, a new member of our family sharing group. The iPhone currently linked to the locked account was a gift from my late father and has been in my possession for several years. However Apple only offer one way to unlock the phone - and that is to provide the original proof of purchase - there is no other option so if you get it as a gift or lose the original receipt, your device is bricked.
However now that I would now like to update the device to use a new apple ID and connect it to our family iCloud+ sharing. There is no way to get anyone to assist in resetting the password. While Apple has several options to validate ones ID, they refuse to do anything.
Just for clarity, I have another 8 active Apple devices and subscribe to iCloud+ and have an active Apple Care Plus plan, but NO assistance and this is what scares me to think they could do this to someone who they can easily verify and validate by any method if they wished to.
New iPhone 16 constantly overheating and draining battery. Tried all the suggested work around as and got the run around from apple. So bad that you can’t get refund on an apple product when it’s an obvious lemon.
I was also ripped off my funds by a fake trade option a few months back, I wasn’t so sure if I would be able to get my funds back as I had already given up on it. it’s 2 weeks later and overnight it loses 8% with no use, then barely lasts 6 hours with minimal use and on power save mode. If I had it over again, I would never ever consider this phone ever - please do yourself a favour and do not buy this phone if you want a decent battery life

despise this useless product. My keyboard has all the features ON but the dumb thing can’t do spellcheck or predictive spelling is somewhere from Mars. Every time I try typing text I have to do it manually. Hate is a strong word but I do hate this Apple. Not worth the money we are being taken for a ride! Ps. No difference between version 15. Added 15/3/25 Bluetooth headphones don’t connect automatically either so I have physically click on settings to get them connected. However the earphones don’t work (they are new and work with other devices) when on WhatsApp video call or FaceTime call!!!!!!
Camera - I can’t see that it’s better than in iPhone 15.
Typing messages - screen is ‘jumpy’ while typing text. Often can’t see what’s been written at the beginning of a specific text since the screen seems to appear out of matching. What a nightmare the biggest rip-off!!!!!!!

Dumb iPhone suddenly the screen went greyish during a conversation on FaceTime. It went almost dark after o e minute FaceTime and the phone got all of sudden extremely hot. can’t adjust it under Display and Brightness as it’s already 100% and the battery is at 83%. I want to smash the this dumb piece of junk! #apple #iphone

Now, the issues keep coming: I noticed a few different outlook inboxes suddenly showing emails from myself to myself are blocked. See the photo below. I haven’t blocked my own emails. This nonsense is just unbelievable. You need to be attending fixing all the errors full time with this useless dumb iPhone 16!!!!!!!
Also I’m amazed at the level of intelligence of iPhone spellcheck. Photo attached re a word “apologise” in the context: … “I apologise….” Which I had to retype manually a few times as there was no help from iPhone’s spellcheck. I’m wondering if iPhone is doing everything possible to have you to use your voice which is NOT my preference! Ps. I have all my options set ON for a predictive text etc. what an ongoing nightmare with this phone. I hate this piece of junk!
21/5/25 update Calendar invitations and setting up a new meeting crashed, changing any details of accepting invitations keep showing as still unfinished which suggest the invitation has not been accepted. While it has twice or three times causing confusion and look very unprofessional. What a nightmare with this expensive and useless device. I keep wondering are those phones only good to make a phone call and nothing else?! Again the spellcheck with all options chosen and turned on it’s still a piece of junk.
25/5/25 Maps suck. Photo attached. Tried to find a long distance between chosen city in Poland and Sydney australia and chose airplane as transport. No this “intelligent “ piece of software can’t perform a basic search but old iPhones could. Btw the spellcheck didn’t not correct australia with a capital letter A. All features are ON but not working. Months of using the phone and I really feel like smashing it against a concrete!!!!! Ps I’m wondering when Apple will show interests and comment on all the above.

don’t find myself using it. The cameras are fantastic. 5 optical zoom and 25 digital on a phone that is so clear. Plus loads more camera settings. Unbelievable! Very happy with this purchase. Apple intelligence is cool but needs more improvement which will come over time. Bit clunky at the moment. Screen brightness and clarity is excellent.

Loganholm Office works (closer to home) and Dino checked it out saying that an Apple key was needed to open it and I need to take it to an Apple Store.so off to Robina Apple (45min. Drive) to be told that they don’t know what an Apple Key is! And I need to make an appointment with an Apple Genius to check the phone out, so an appointment is made for 3 days time to drive back to Robina for this. They also said I could try going to Office Works Browns Plains and ask for replacement..I think this is fair as the phone cost me over $2000. iPhone 16promax – I love this phone and I’m so glad I purchased the 512GB. It gives me enough storage for all the videos and photos I take. The camera quality is fantastic and the battery is long lasting.
