Cheap Plastic Nightmare – The fact that this product sells for close to $60 AUD is the funniest joke! From top to bottom, it is cheap and poorly built as it gets. I've had $15 fans from K Mart which were far superior. The manufacturer could not even be bothered aligning the front and back grills .. the joys of a poorly plastic ring await you (if you are unlucky enough to… Read more
buy one you'll know what I mean). Dont worry. about the remote btw, it never works from distance..utterly defeating the purpose. You've been warned!
Bloody blue light – Don’t have the fan never seen one working but the blue wifi light is doing my head in already if only I had a black permanent marker or some tape!?!?!? Show details
band aid solution for blue light – fan has been awesome until cat began chewing the power adaptor cable - now it doesn't work at all! anyone know if a replacement power adaptor is available...? fixed the blue light issue though - placed a band aid over it....easy. Show details
How to turn off the blue light – As SteveC says below you can get rid of the blue wifi light.... which has been driving me nuts for months. Connect it to the wifi using the App, then "remove device" in the App, then unplug it and plug in again after 2 mins and the wifi light will flash. After a few minutes it gives up trying to connect to the wifi and the light magically disappears.
Disappointed – Very disappointed. Fan has very poor circulation of air. You can hardly feel the air circulating even when standing in front of it even on high. Looks good and very quiet under 8 but just doesn’t circulate the air very well. A very disappointing gift.
Annoying flashing WiFi led light – The fan works well and is pretty quiet. You can disable the many bright blue led lights using the remote, but whatever you do, you cannot disable the flashing WiFi light. I bought this fan because of the remote control, but was unaware that the WiFi operation required the download of a special app via a smart phone. This capability should be able… Read more
of being overridden by disabling the wifi or at least being able to switch off the flashing led light. The app requires a whole heap of personal information to be disclosed for it to work and I object to this as it appears that Arlec does not control or own this app. I am very disappointed with this purchase and advise perspective buyers to be aware of this annoying feature.
A poor purchase. I will return it to Bunnings – I bought this pedestal fan on Arlecs previous electronics reputation. IMHO this is a disgrace. 1. It consumes only 30 watts of electricity p.h. but it is so underpowered. Even on its top fan setting of 8 it barely has the air output for a 4metre by 4 metre bedroom. 2.You turn on the fan and the timer and you get air as expected but also a… Read more
bright blue LED light which pulsates every 15 seconds and which (according to other reviews on these pages) cannot be turned off. Reminds me of Colditz. Why the designers would include such a feature is beyond me or why the Bunning's buyers didn't recognise the unnecessary feature.
Switching off the annoying blue led – This is an excellent, quiet fan with just one annoying problem - the wifi connection led. I managed to switch off the led by redoing the wifi pairing process with the app using a wrong password for the wifi network. The process finds the fan on the network, switches off the light, and then attempts to connect the fan to the network, which fails… Read more
because of the wrong password, and the led stays off. Only downside is you cannot operate the fan via the app.
FANTASTIC fan cannot turn off annoying bright blue wifi light – Fan is very well thought out, great quality build, super quiet just the best fan i have ever owned and its electrically efficient at only 30 watts of power as well! Perfect fan right? WRONG! You cannot turn off the bright blue wifi light. At worst it flashes constantly because you have not paired it to your wifi and at best you get a solid blue… Read more
light once you have paired. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ARLEC? You went to the trouble of having a feature to turn off all the lights at night but you forgot about one!!!!!!! I will be returning my fan to Bunnings for a refund and purchasing another fan hopefully as well built and quiet. Who the hell needs their fan connected to the internet anyway?
Works quietly – The blue light can be turned off, first download the app and manually search for the device while the fan is in pairing mode when the app is searching the light will go off and you can still run the fan. Don't connect it to your WiFi! Otherwise the light will stay on. Good fan apart from this design fault when people want to sleep without a bright led in their face. Show details
Easy to put together from flat pack – Fan is great easy to put together. Works well and quiet. Problem-blue bright display lights shine and one of three lights blinking all the time. Arlec might be wise to consider dimming feature for this. It’s just plain irritating or cut off switch for lights. Thanks. Show details
Love it wouldn't be without it – I love this fan, had heaps of settings and a timer. Super easy to use and I love the remote. Only down fall is you can't dim the LCD display which is terrible for night time use ,I just tie my tshirt around it Show details
Bright wifi light cant be turned off! – What appears to be a nice quiet fan is useless if you want to use it in your bedroom at night. It is not possible to turn the bright blue wifi light off. I contacted the product support number and they confirmed that it cannot be turned off. Silly oversight! I will be returning it to Bunnings
