Breville The AirDynamic 3D LPF308

This is the perfect fan for cooling the bedroom on hot nights. On the two lowest settings it is impossible to hear from more than an metre away. The double direction oscillation is very effective at keeping the air in the room moving. We have often left it on overnight without a problem. It is simple to turn off the lit up control pad so that the room remains dark. It can even be controlled from your phone with the app. We tried other brands and found them impossibly noisy even when they were advertised as "quiet". This is not cheap but well worth the extra cost.

Exceptionally quiet fan but overpriced – If you are looking for a fan for the bedroom this is definitely the one for you, it is exceptionally quiet even at the highest setting, and has a timer so will turn off once you fall asleep. If you like the fan to oscillate well this one not only goes left to right but up and down so the air is constantly moving around the room. The negatives, its way too expensive at $299 and lightweight so feels a bit cheap (although being lightweight might be good for the elderly to move around)...if you can get it on sale then its benefits would outweigh the costs...it does have a digital display that is bright so for some people this might be annoying at bed time...do I regret the purchase...No...in fact I bought a second one a year later when it was priced down at $200

The absolute best by far, people cooling fan, However! – We live bayside Queensland. Because of our high position we get good cooling breezes most of the time and have not needed air conditioning for near 30 years. We do not have ceiling fans either, because of the seldom need. Sometimes when the breeze eases off, it is uncomfortable to sleep as there is minimal air movement. We have tried conventional pedestal fans that work but are noisy and affect our sleep. Twelve months ago, we purchased one of these fans. We were so impressed that we went back the next day and bought another one. The movement of the fan is excellent and even moves air from the ceiling. The controls are really easy to use also. It is so quite in operation that there is almost no noise at all. We have not lost a minute's sleep on hot nights as fresh air is always there. Give these a try. You won't be disappointed. Now the "However". A number of screws need to be removed to get to the fan to clean the accumulated dust and fluff from it. Constantly removing and refitting screws to plastic is not ideal and will eventually result in disaster. Maybe, Breville could look at an easier, quicker and more convenient way get to the fan blades to clean them. Other than that, an excellent product.
A very effective fan at a fair price – I bought this fan for my study and I live in the subtropics. It is compact (about 30cm dia) but the 9 blade pushes around a lot of air, equivalent to a small Vornado. It replaced a tower fan that I estimate was 1/3rd as effective. There is a good range of speeds and oscillation. It is also very quiet. The build quality is of a high standard and it comes with a 3-year warranty from the manufacturer. My only criticism is that when it is turned off, the fan returns to a central horizontal and vertical position. But when it is started the preferred setup (speed, vertical orientation and horizontal orientation) needs to be repeated each time.

Fan disguised as a hair dryer – Very small appliance. Once set up it’s way smaller than an equivalent brand. I was shocked how small it was. Doesn’t generate much airflow. Guess I should have checked Choices reviews, it only scored 70% (failed and not recommend by Choice). Breville have put out a toy fan, that’s disguised as a hair dryer!! As well, you cannot turn the light off on the lcd panel. Useless for the bedroom. Useless as a fan and good for nothing device! Poor effort Breville. Your engineering team lucked out on this appliance. Stick to what you do best. Let the other brands design fans.
