I am disappointed with my experience with Grays regarding lot 0006-9068637. I won the auction on 19 May 2026, but by 8–9 June the item still had not been received. I contacted Grays several times asking if the watch could be posted or if they could help arrange collection, but I was repeatedly told it was “collection only” and that I must… Read more

organise my own third-party nominee.

Grays recommended TruckIT and Online Move Australia, but I received no response from them. When I explained this, no practical alternative was offered.

The replies were polite, but the issue was not resolved. For a small item like a watch, the delivery/collection process should have been clearer and more practical.

I would be cautious about bidding on collection-only items from Grays again.

I recently purchased four computer monitors through a Grays auction. I fully understood that the listing stated the items were "untested" and "may contain faults." I accepted that there was a risk they might not work. However, what I did not expect was the extremely poor packaging. All four monitors were packed together in one large, very heavy… Read more

box with no foam, padding, or protective material separating them. As a result, they were free to move around and knock against each other during transport, making damage almost unavoidable.

I opened the box at the collection site before leaving, and all four monitors were already physically damaged. The damage was immediately visible, so it was clear it had occurred before I took them away.

Another issue was that the listing used stock photos instead of actual photos of the items being sold. Had the listing shown the real condition of the monitors and how they would be packed, I would not have bid on the auction.

When I collected the items, a staff member even warned me not to buy products described as "untested, may have faults" because they are often not worth purchasing, and suggested I only buy items eligible for return. That conversation made the experience even more disappointing.

I'm not complaining because the monitors were untested—that risk was clearly stated. My concern is that reasonable care should still be taken when packing items for transport. Regardless of whether an item is tested or untested, customers should expect it to be packaged in a way that does not cause additional damage.

Unfortunately, Grays declined to offer any resolution.

I hope this review helps other buyers understand the risks before bidding. If you're considering purchasing fragile items from Grays, especially those listed as "untested," be aware that the packaging may not provide adequate protection, and you could receive items that have been damaged before you even leave the collection site.

Dodgy at the best. Currently selling a 1983 Honda Accord saying it had a female previous owner. This car was bought in Victoria for $2500 3 months ago and now (5/07/26) selling in SA for over $4509 so how is it advertised as a previous female owner when it's a bloke selling it? Still doing false advertising, obviously needs another round in court with the ACCC with a much larger fine than the $10 mil it got last time.

Hino Truck – I bought a truck online without even going to view it beforehand, but the photos on the app did justice to what they were selling. The pick up process was easy and smooth even though it was a little bit busy, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend GraysOnline WA/Perth. Nearly 2 years after I bought the truck, it's still going strong. Show reply

Grays Auctioneer are ripping the Australian with their high fees premium buyers just look at the premium buyers fees it's almost more that 10% between fees Gst and cc fees. The goverment of the day is allowing the Australian public getting ripped off for allowing such companies to charge what ever they like or what they think is fair

If I tried to do something like this i would have the full extent of the law thrown at me yet these people get away with it Do not purchase anything from this company if you are after what looks expensive but is a cheap knock off watch go to Bali at least they Will actually work and absolute scam

I was nervous while waiting for delivery of my most recent wine order due to GraysOnline's recent business developments, plus the delivery was late, but once again they came through for me. I've been buying wine from Grays Online for years, via auctions and Buy Now, and I've always had satisfying outcomes. The latest was the best; a $75 bottle of wine (x 12) for $15 per bottle.

Honestly didn't want to deal with Facebook Marketplace, GumTree or Carsales. So I Figured I'd give GraysOnline a go at selling my Vehicle. The Sales agent I'd dealt with was professional, curteous & well-spoken and walked me through the entire selling process, including about 3-5 back and forth emails (all staying with the same agent)

They sent me the contracts via email, which were easy to understand and fill out. Once completed took about 1-2 Days to drop off the car at my local Gray's yard. The Staff at the Yard were great to deal with and Friendly.

Vehicle Sold in 5 Days for a Good Price (About what I'd expected to get, which was surprising) and took about a week or two to settle and have the Funds in my account (With Grays subtracting their nominated fees which wasn't too bad compaired to other quotes I'd received from other Car Sale / Auction sites)

If you're looking for a hassle free and hands off approach to selling your Vehicle, and have the time and patience to wait for their processing times, I'd highly reccomend GraysOnline to anyone looking to sell their Car

Be careful about opening an account with Grays giving them all your personal and banking details. Either their dodgy employees sell your details, or their online security is trash. conditions!! but when I questioned them further then they told me it was due to bidding activities! I didn’t bid for anything for nearly 6 months and prior to that I bid for some cars but didn't win any of them. Seems like they are covering up on my suspected hacked account or my personal data leaked out and someone using my details in another account. Now I’m not sure if anyone used my details to purchase a car to use in criminal activities! Not only they wouldn't tell me the exact reason for my account suspension, but they wouldn’t even tell me if there were any activities in my account for my own peace of mind as I I'm not bothered at all for not being able to deal with them anymore. I had to cancel my credit card and go through the hassle of changing many auto payments but still worried that criminals may have used my details to purchase a car under my name as they initially said my account was linked to another suspicious account before changing their story that it was due to bidding activities!! Do yourself a favour and avoid them at all costs. I’m reporting them to ACCC and weighing in whether to report them to AFP too. Looks like $10m penalty couple of years ago wasn’t enough to stop their fraudulent activities

wouldnt give it to him.

I then tried to arrange another time, made the effort again, and was once more refused collection even with all the paperwork needed. . I explained the situation clearly, but instead of resolving it, I was told I had “abandoned” the item — which is completely false. I even provided proof showing I had not abandoned anything including courier emails, etc.

To make matters worse, I pointed out that Monday was Labour Day in Victoria, meaning the collection window should have extended to the 16th. They initially acknowledged this, then later changed their story and said the deadline was the 14th.

Every time I raised inconsistencies, they claimed there was “nothing on the system.” They provided no proof though!! They refused to escalate the issue to management when I requested it. This is the issue when you are using ChatGPT to reply to customers. You cant keep track of dates, etc.

Despite providing multiple pieces of evidence, they said no and yet couldnt offer me any evidence on the contrary.

Don’t buy through them. Don’t use them. Save yourself the headache. They are really S**T!!

Follow-up  · In the end they stated it was my fault that all of this happened and cannot help.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Gray’s (Grays) for my daughter. The listing showed a clean description with no mention of any transmission issues or engine warning lights. Within about 20 minutes of leaving the lot, the car broke down. When I contacted the seller to request a refund, they refused.
