Poor standard of workmanship provided during the installation of my safe. I specifically requested that the safe be installed inside my cupboard and securely fixed in with four Dynabolts (two in the floor & two in the wall studs). However, the finished installation was not to an acceptable standard. The carpet and perimeter edging beneath the… Read more
safe was partially removed, leaving an uneven surface, and there is a significant gap between the rear of the safe and the wall due to the floor dynabolts being installed incorrectly. One timber screw appears to have been used through the rear of the safe rather than the provided Dynabolts. As a result, the safe is unstable and noticeably wobbles when touched. As this is not compliant with regulations I am now required to install safe elsewhere and replace carpet.

Jim's Handyman, North Lakes, Steve Robinson. I needed to improve my existing timber boundary fence to make it pool compliant. Steve is a qualified building inspector as well as a quality handyman. From initial contact through to completion, he was very knowledgeable, professional and understood what needed to be done to comply with strict pool… Read more
fence requirements. Good price, and very timely, he and an apprentice finished the job quickly. Pool inspector approved the fix. I would use Steve again for sure.
A very personable and professional handyman who was very passionate about building a great product for us. Thank you
Great job, great experience! – John was great, on time, friendly and knowledgeable! Did the job quickly and perfectly! So happy and will definitely contact again in the future if I need work done!
Very disappointed. I posted a short list of jobs on Jim's handyman services. They shared my information with Onehive, claiming they only deal with trusted tradespeople. One of the jobs was to fix a new towel rail, below 2 others already successfully fixed. Please see photos. I shared in job list that it was a tile wall and confirmed with… Read more
Onehive and tradesperson, before works began. I was told that the tradesperson sent was a senior handyman. It took him 1 hour to drill 2 holes. He stated the difficulties he saw but could not offer an explanation as to how the other 2 towel rails directly above, could have been successfully fixed. I would have respected transparency of skills at the outset, rather than being charged 1 hour for an incomplete job. He stated that it would take several more hours 'if' he could successfully complete the job. At the hourly rate charged, this was not an offer i accepted. I called Onehive and expressed my concerns and suggested that they be honest and confident of the skillsets of their tradespeople. I trusted their statement that they were sending a senior tradesperson. In addition I called Jim's as I logged through them and they claim to only promote trusted people. Jim's suggested i call around and see if there is someone who could complete the job, disinterested in the additional callout, time & inconvenience. I trusted that they were being honest about their tradespeople & those they partner with, as they claim. My advice to potential clients is that you look elsewhere. Are all reviews posted? In my case the correct information was shared with the tradesperson who should have disclosed his lack of ability at the outset. Jim's should invest in due diligence when sharing information with other services, ensuring that they are promoting responsibly. I will not use Jim's again. Obviously I will not use Onehive. Beware.
BEWARE!!! I had two bedside tables put together @ $275.00. One of the side tables hadn’t been done properly. They refused to come back and fix it. I had to pay another handy man to action!

Ben Guard from Northlake near Perth worked for 2 1/2 days clearing our garden, fixed our reticulation, painted stains in our ceiling, cleared plants, etc. He even hired a skip bin for all of the junk. Can I give less? I doubt Jim Handymen have any screening processes. Do NOT be mistaken. These Jim men/people are not the warm spirited, reliable Aussies nextdoor. They are a hotch-potch of just about anyone who are ready and willing to provide rip off quotes. All I asked was for a cabinet to be altered to cover a fireplace. I was "allotted"… Read more
a bloke with an unprenouncible name (you don't get a choice) when he contacted me, I sent photos of small fireplace and cabinet as requested, told him it was a simple job to cut the back of the cabinet to fit. I didn't ask for a sculpture. After a few hours, he texted "I'm not a handyman" Leo provides a quote over $300 plus GST. I questioned this, was less than impressed as I had a budget of $150. Then a bizarre tirade of abuse, Leo told me he was in fact a University graduate, on television, a high style technician and hated white attitudes! I kid you not. He texted me to expect an 8 minute lightfitting to cost $250 and told me I was, in effect, cheap. I said I'm not in the habit of throwing money at people for simple jobs. I sent his tirade to Jim's. But I DO think Jim's is very much at fault by associating with people who are unprofessional, greedy and quite comfortable with texting lengthy abuse - all of Leo's abusive texts calling me every name under the sun, came from AI. I said honestly, I despised the attitudes of greed brought into this country. In short, go elsewhere. You are a sitting duck for anyone Jim thinks is OK to abuse you.
Second time getting unwanted calls from Jim's – Another Jim's franchise had previously spammed my phone quite aggressively. I gave them another shot, asked specifically for them to use email due to my number being spammed, I gave my email in the form for a quote and I immediately get an SMS saying they'll call me. Why they ask for an email and refuse to use it and spam potential customers I… Read more

Last time I got about four calls in 4-5 minutes I just wanted to avoid that happening again.

AVOID Jim's Handyman Boondall like the plague – Spoke to him once, get seemed: nice, friendly and helpful and said he "wanted to help people." Boy, was that a lie! Yet when he turned up early and I asked him to wait, he obviously didn't like that... When I SIMPLY ASKED HIM him a perfectly reasonable QUESTION and he got angry and said: "I don't need this. I work for myself, I don't work for… Read more
anybody." Um, YES YOU DO: you work for a franchise that SUX. Don't put your "shortman" syndrome insecurities on to others. We were all shocked by his attitude and behaviour (caught on camera) and were left very inconvenienced. Extremely rude, disrespecful, unprofessional. Don't worry, my 6"2 body builder did it quicker than you would've! Avoid Jim's Handymen ⚠️ ❌✖️❌✖️
