I would not recommend buying anything from Lloyds Auctions. My experience has been one of the worst consumer experiences I've ever had. I purchased a vehicle that had serious undisclosed mechanical defects, requiring thousands of dollars in repairs. Instead of taking responsibility or providing a fair resolution, Lloyds has repeatedly delayed,… Read more
avoided answering straightforward questions, and pushed the burden back onto me.
Before buying from this company, read the negative reviews, not just the positive ones. Pay close attention to the recurring themes and decide whether you're willing to take that risk.
In my opinion, this has been an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. I will never buy from Lloyds Auctions again and will be warning everyone I know to look elsewhere. One purchase has cost me thousands of dollars, countless hours, and an enormous amount of stress. Craig the so called customer service manager at Gold coast is an arrogant, abusive scammer. This company needs to be shut down.
I had successfully used Lloyds Auctions for eight previous auctions without any significant issues, which is why my most recent experience was so disappointing. For this auction, Lloyds advertised a promotion offering 0% commission, instead of their usual 22% seller's commission. However, when the auction was completed, they deducted the… Read more
commission anyway, taking just under $3,000 from the proceeds.
The problems did not stop there. Lloyds also failed to pay the funds ($8,000) within their stated 21-day payment period after the auction ended. It ultimately took three months to receive payment, despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter.
During those three months, I sent more than 30 emails, most of which received generic responses stating that the matter had been "escalated". Numerous phone calls were made, and I repeatedly requested to speak with management, but no one returned my calls.
The only time the issue appeared to gain any traction was after Channel 7 Perth ran a news story and contacted Lloyds regarding the matter. Shortly after that, payment was finally made however the commission has still not been refunded.
After being a repeat customer and trusting Lloyds with multiple auctions over several years, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would never use Lloyds Auctions again and cannot recommend them to others.
This is not an isolated incident, search their reviews.

I love auctions, flicking thru looking for treasures.. but Lloyds has really left a bad taste in my mouth from the past few deals.. the Ford station wagon i won yesterday has topped the lot tho.. cost me over $2100 to drive it away from there, started nice, trans worked good, so far, so good?! 5 mins later, I am at the lights and I see smoke/steam… Read more
coming out of the exhaust, (it was about 18-20 degrees outside, so it's not cold).. checked it when I got home (surprised I made it, cos it was running terribly by the time I got home 25-30min later)... and guess what? Full of custard. Its got a blown head or gasket.. the POS already cost me as much as any of this POS could have if I bought it privately, now I need a new head and/or head gasket.. I think that something REALLY IMPORTANT like that should be disclosed on their lot listing if they insist on selling it to people for really $$. Being an online auction they must know that a lot of people can't inspect in person and should expect it and act accordingly! For example, today I was screwed around around for ages trying to get rego cos they couldn't provide me with the old plate number, was told it came in without plates and the PPSR that they done didnt have a plate number either.. after too many calls to their crap AI call answering service, [Name Removed] done some digging and provided me the plate number. Why it can't be supplied to EVERY person who buys a car from there cos I am sure this crap happens with EVERY CAR SOLD WITHOUT PLATES (ie. all cars?).. well, I picked up the car and it had BOTH ORIGINAL PLATES STILL ON THE CRAP POS!!
I could go on and on, but there is today's and my final transaction with them.. wanna hear about last week's? I won 3x NIKE sneakers the finally arrived 10 days later from QLD (after 6 days of it NOT getting sent after payment) and I have only 2× NIKE sneakers!! One of their dog workers has stolen a pair of my crap NIKE shoes!! TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, BOTH PAIRS WERE OBVIOUS COUNTERFEIT SHOES, it wasn't obvious on their pathetic image platform that doesnt even allow a real zoom with any sort of definition.. everything about this company is horrendous. One time i won a set of alpine split speakers, looked old but unopened and the perfect odd size for my car so I got em.. opened it up, and the "rubber" part of it just disintergrated at the touch.. someone put the old ruined speakers in the box, put the cover they didnt use on top, wrapped em and sold em at lloyds, to me. No splits were in the box either, just the trashed stock speakers from something. And lately they try to force high starting bids, and only allow it to go up by increasing amounts instead of letting u start anywhere and go up how u wish to.. its definitely the most greedy therefore the worst of all Adelaide's auction houses.. I almost forgot about their AI nonsense phone answering system, its an insult to their customers as u just continually get cut off, cos there's "no one available in car sales at the moment", @3pm in the avo.. its a disgrace and just further testament to how low the respect towards their customers really is.
I want to to know about my car that was actioned but no one returned my calls don’t know if sold or not

Excessive use of distasteful & disgusting AI – I spotted the use of this disgusting AI usage in your classic car auctions, examples below:https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx?stype=0&smode=0&aid=57733&lid=5187256 https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx?stype=0&smode=0&aid=57733&lid=5195587 https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx?stype=0&smode=0&aid=57733&lid=5183252… Read more

The use of AI like this is extremely distasteful. I understand the need to automate processes to reduce staff and labor expenses but this is excessive and honestly disgusting. The AI does not need to be used here, it could be simply automated, I don't need some "old man who suits the demographic of this ad" to explain to me why HE, as an ARTIFICIAL person enjoys that car... It adds nothing to the value of the auction itself, no one wants that. Then, I contacted the number provided on the auctions for the corporate support for Lloyds Auctions and 3 of the 4 lines immediately went to voicemail, and the only line that did go through immediately met me with MORE AI, an AI voice that can't comprehend my actual concerns but will instead just repeat back to me what I say, like most AI live chatbots for websites. I try to go past it and it refuses until I give it a "valid reason to help get a support person", I don't need to explain myself to a robot, it should automatically send me through to a human the second it's mentioned. I am not saying all of this as an AI hater or anything, I actually think the use of it is quite interesting and can have some innovative uses, and this is all coming from the perspective of a mid 20's IT Technician with a speciality in Process Automation and Business Analysis. However, what you are doing is extremely distasteful and disgusting.

Bought a 1995 R33 Skyline based on Lloyds’ description of a “properly engineered” refreshed engine, premium $26k respray, and low verifiable 90k km. Reality: Critically low compression (70-100 PSI), painted-over body cracks, cluster removed (odometer unverifiable), and other major undisclosed defects. Clear false advertising. Paid in full. Multiple emails and calls to refund team — total silence for weeks. Zero customer service.
Absolutely the worst experience with these lowlife bunch of scumbags. Total liars and have no accountability for there actions. Don't ever deal with this disgusting excuse for an auction house
NEVER AGAIN 7 weeks after the sale still waiting for payment .Can name 3 employees that do not return calls would have rung about 20 times.Dont even deserve a 1 star rating.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Worst customer service ever. Still waiting for my refund 4 weeks later for a product I never received. They don't reply to any emails. Absolute joke of a company. Stay well away from them!
I am a customer who has spent well over 100k with Lloyds. Recently I ordered a Bentley from Lloyds, paid for enclosed transport to Perth. than speaking to this peanut. On my first call he told me how he would lose 15k if he sent the vehicle. Umm, I'm sorry you can't run a business but I clicked on the Lloyds website and paid for enclosed transport. He said he would throw the car on a boat open to the elements and when I said I wasn't comfortable with a my car going on the deck of a boat he got aggressive saying it's only 40k and it came over in a boat. I said put your proposal in an email, which he didn't, probably doesn't know how to use a computer. He wouldn't return phone calls, texts and emails. I then spent three months contacting Lloyds asking anyone who would listen to help me or I wanted a refund. How could a loyal customer who has spent so much money be treated this way. All Lloyds did was dodged and ducked for three months while they still had my car. In the end after getting no sense out of any of them I had to organize my own transport. They bad mouthed Ceva to me and then did a 180 and suggested I use them after three months of being given the run around. It was like there wasn't a brain cell between any of the people I spoke to. DO NOT use Lloyds, just take the time to read all of the bad reviews, trust me, you will regret it.
