and I were traumatised by late arrival at Gatwick Airport from Melbourne, Australia. Arrived at the accommodation in the early hours of the morning with little sleep since we had to meet the tour guide by 8am. for the June 2026 European Land Tour. Disappointing experience due to a disgraceful flight booking management by My Cruises. When booking, please, read small prints because they will not tell you!

What impressed us most was Leon's willingness to enhance the tour based on our interests. After hearing several participants express an interest in Chinese calligraphy, he organised a calligraphy class that was not originally included in the itinerary. The accommodation throughout the trip was of a very high standard, offering comfort and luxury at every destination. The food was another highlight, providing a tremendous culinary experience with a wide variety of delicious dishes that allowed us to explore the rich flavours of China.

job. He goes above and beyond making sure that we get the best experience possible. Even when his shift has ended he still offer us his service and bringing us to these beautiful places. He really took care of us for the 15 days we’ve been together.
Also, special mention to Ishti our coach driver. Driving us to those places safe and sound. You can tell that he is very well experienced on what he does. Even when our coach broke down on the way to Switzerland, Ishti managed to drive the coach and made it to the hotel safely.
I couldn’t ask for a better team than Ishti and Kevin their professionalism and commitment is so inspiring.

If I could hand pick my own Tour Leader/Guide, hands down I would pick Kevin Screene every time. Absolute legend, totally organised & professional. visiting the Chengdu Research Base was a definite highlight.
One of the things we appreciated most was the small group size of just 21 people. It made the whole experience much more relaxed and comfortable, with plenty of space on the buses and a far less crowded feel compared to larger tours. We also really valued having a dedicated tour leader for the entire trip, supported by knowledgeable local guides in most cities who provided great local insight.
A special mention must go to Amber (our tour leader), who was simply outstanding. She was organised, knowledgeable, caring, professional and always willing to go above and beyond to help every member of the group. Nothing was ever too much trouble. As a vegetarian travelling in China, I was initially unsure how easy food would be, but Amber made sure my dietary requirements (and others' dietary requirements) were not only catered for, but that I enjoyed genuinely delicious meals throughout the trip.
The accommodation was lovely throughout the tour; however, it was not always located close to areas where we could easily explore independently at the end of the day. Shanghai was the only city where time felt very limited, and we didn’t really have any opportunity to explore independently, as the schedule was fully structured around activities and transfers. As a result, I would suggest that anyone taking this tour considers adding an extra day or two in Shanghai to allow time to explore the city independently.
Having previously travelled on larger group tours, I found this small group format far more enjoyable and personal. The combination of a smaller group, dedicated tour leader, knowledgeable local guides and an itinerary covering all of China’s major highlights made this one of the best tours I have experienced.

to say the biggest success on the tour was being led by our guide Amber. Her English was excellent. Her knowledge was thorough & if she didn't know she'd find out for us. She looked after every single member of the group in one way, shape or form, including me - not only did she help make my birthday while on tour incredibly special, she also looked me after having gotten a virus while on the river cruise. There was nothing she wouldn't help us with or help source for us if needed. I can't speak highly enough of her as a tour guide.

Our tour guide Michelle did an amazing job, providing background stories of each spots and we felt comfortable and informed the whole way. Bus driver Gareth was very reliable and got us there everytime without too much issues. Helping us with all of our luggages and kept the bus awesomely clean and tidy everyday. have been too much for one person. Needed more time at some of the smaller countries which exceeded our expectations. I am 61 and thought I was fit enough but would recommend this trip for under 50's. We did over 300000 steps with a couple of blisters. Loved most of the countries. Some hotels are very basic with no fridge or coffee making. It's all a bit of a whirlwind with not much relaxation time.
Follow-up · To make the tour less fast paced it would have been great to have our little breaks in small towns rather than in service centres all the time. We would arrive at hotels late in the evening with no time to explore.

Most places we stayed had eating options supermarkets and a few speciality shops for anything you may need along the way and it was lovely to sit back and relax in a local neighbourhood and watch the locals going about their daily life. Our tour leader Kev went above and beyond every second of his waking hours. His wealth of knowledge was unsurpassed and with a bus load of questions all the time his patience and natural easiness with us was amazing. He was literally amazing. Some of the bus days are long and Kev kept us more than entertained with his wit banter and merriment. We could not have wanted for anything more, he made us feel very safe and as lady travellers that was very important. He kept us well informed every step of the tour. Our driver Ishti was gentle and kind with a quick wit and superb driving skills. He navigated the roads with ease and precision. He also was extremely helpful with any queries or questions we had. They worked extremely well together and we couldn't have asked for a better team. The optional tours along the way enhanced our experience and maximised the time spent in each country. It is a fast paced tour with long days combining beautiful bus road travel and walking...lots of stairs, cobblestones, bridges, and packing and unpacking but the reward is life-changing! Our tour group ages ranged from early teens to a good mix of early and latter seniors. A fabulous mix of Aussies who all bonded quickly for a happy joyous tour. Our guide Leon having all these skills made our experience stress free, we could safely relax and enjoy ourselves knowing with confidence that Leon had control.
We strongly value the Safety provided in group travel and found this under Leons good leadership. If you strayed off the designated route, as I did, Leon would get you back to the group, like a good Shepherd, if you were lost he would find you. Leon has a patient and charming manner. Leon was resourceful, able to ensure that all the group had opportunity to achieve their expectations. The itinerary was always clearly explained , alternatives were explored , weather conditions, terrain, mobility requirements considered and explained clearly. Travel plans and document requirements were also clearly explained . Everyone had opportunity to contribute to group decisions. Leon made every effort to ensure our needs were addressed. The local guides were great, providing entertaining stories, interesting history and local attractions.
The food experience was a highlight. Many opportunities were provided to enjoy the variety of excellent regional cuisines.
Inevitably , time spent travelling was perhaps the least enjoyable experience. However, the bus drivers were excellent the trains were very comfortable, portage was efficient . Leon and local guides ensured priority boarding, disembarkment , security checks etc.
Also, there where issues with the trip notes, particlarly last leg travel to Shanghai changes resulting in downtime waiting for flight . Would the train have been more efficient? Tipping wasn't fully explained. There were local customs on the boat , not unreasonable but unexpected. Also some portages, well worthwhile option but would have been nice to know.
In summary, we have had an excellent holiday.
Flew from Sydney to Beijing for 14 nights in China. The pace was pretty full on probably a faster pace on excursions than the moderate level in advertising suggested. came to my rescue at least twice, once on the Great Wall (advertising says ascend to the Wall by cable car, but no, only a fraction of the way and many uneven, steep steps to reach your goal) so worth the huge hike, Leon stayed with me on the trip down, lending his shoulder on the uneven, big steps or steep sections. I unfortunately developed a condition later in the trip requiring antibiotics, dear Leon arranged a trip to a great hospital & hung in as interpreter so much easier than a translation app. There are a few hidden extras such as porter age charge for the bullet train but it is optional but oh so much easier, even extra once for a shuttle. Overall it’s a great trip and the itinerary ensures you see as much as possible, just be ready for huge long days averaging over 14,000 steps, lots uphill & stairs; lots of time on the bus due to distances & the same on trains but 1st class booking (included) made these very comfortable.
The hotels were all top notch & the upgrade to the Tibetan Hotel was a real treat.

For this tour we started in London and also finished in London, we travelled 8 countries in Europe which most places we visited gave me a good taste of the area. days and having time to explore Europe it was fun and adventurous. Towards the end it was broken down to just 1 night stays which didn't meet my expectations too much. The optionals we did were great we saw the main strips and it didn't make me feel like i missed out on seeing anything. The food was greatly served it was tasty and good huge portions.
