Sonos Move 2 - Beautiful speaker, incredibly frustrating to own I really wanted to like the Sonos Move 2. It is beautifully designed, feels like a premium product and sounds genuinely very good. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating. The biggest problem is reliability. I regularly have trouble connecting to the speaker and getting the Sonos app to recognise it. I've had repeated problems with Spotify and Apple Music, particularly trying to play music already in my Apple Music library. I've had to effectively factory reset the speaker several times just to get it working again.

Bluetooth is also far more complicated than it should be for a premium portable speaker.

I honestly spend almost as much time trying to get the Move 2 working as I do actually listening to it. This was my first Sonos product, and I originally intended to buy more Sonos speakers for my home. Unfortunately, this experience has completely put me off the brand.

The irony is that the hardware itself is excellent. It looks great and sounds great. But none of that matters much when the software and connectivity are so unreliable.

Perhaps Sonos will eventually fix these issues, but based on my experience, I simply cannot recommend the Move 2.

Beautiful speaker. Great sound. Terrible reliability and an incredibly frustrating user experience.

Purchased in at Sonos for $599.

Underwhelmed – Thought I would be more impressed with the sound quality after purchasing the ARC a few years ago. Can’t really say it’s much better than other (and cheaper) Bluetooth speakers I’ve owned before

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $543.

Connectivity issues and only average sound quality – So my experience started out well enough, good sound quality (NOT excellent like other SONOS products, it really is missing mid-range/vocal ability) easy to connect and use, however it was not long after the original setup the connectivity via Wi-Fi became an issue. The sound when connected via AirPlay, or the unfriendly SONOS app, started to drop in and out, regardless of where the device is placed... I am currently in the process of dealing with SONOS customer support, who have been very helpful, however the attempted changes you need to make to your router in order to get the product to run smoothly is beyond acceptable! I did research the brands and started the SONOS journey with an ERA 300 and SONOS AMP, which both work perfectly on WiFi, however the Move 2 does not and a web search will show this issue with many, many other users. I will pause buying SONOS products for the meantime; SONOS could release a software update to fix this well known issue and I will wait for this... But at this point in time I do not recommend the Move 2 to anyone despite all the good reviews you see when doing your research. Make sure you listen to the device before purchase to ensure it's particular sound profile works for you...
