Another poor quality product from Spudshed. I purchased a 4kg bag of potatoes that taste that bad that I ended up putting them in the bin. They lacked flavour, very dry, starchy and were terrible when boiled, mashed, baked or roasted IMO. From my experience it is my opinion that they were likely poor quality that were kept in cold storage for too long. SPUDSHED have to lift their game.
This is a message I want Tony to read. I was on your side in the potato wars with the government & have been an avid supporter of your spud shed stores for many years, I have as a general rule had a good experience in spud shed but on occasion have found some meat falls well below acceptable and I'm sorry to say the fresh produce sometimes fails… Read more
the pub test due to lacklustre freshness but that's really not what this is about. You built your name in the begining on the potatoe wars with the government & of course the potatoe board as they were hogtieing the entire potatoe industry right? But when a follower & supporter comes into one of your stores to buy plain healthy frozen chips without the gunk that big business invariably puts in almost all foods, & find when I get home the damn chips are Chinese frozen chips it made my blood boil, You fought for farmers rights when it came to the humble potatoe but what is it too damn hard to be able to cut potatoes put them in a bag & freeze them. I didn't realise all the while it was Chinese farmers you were fighting for all those years ago. I also understand not all things can be sourced in Australia but potatoes come off the grass Tony, I really think you can do better than this. I want to keep supporting you your family & spudshed however I believe some things need to change & I really think that Australian produce is a much better option wherever possible for spudshed moving forward.
Kind regards Dave.
Went to Spudshed in Waterford today for groceries and grabbed a bag of carrots. When I opened up the bag of carrots I found about half of them had black moulds on them! Show details

37 dollars for this jackfruit that can go into the bin...
Chicken had a light yellow colour and had a strong rotten smell, bag of dog bones had a green colour to it and rotten as hell, pack of cheese slices didnt think this would need checking but nah was mouldy as hell and was atleast half the pack so was off for days before they scammed me. emails. Seems since Tony's made a name his quality isn't any care of his anymore. Reported spudshed for the quality.
Hey guys every time you shop at spudshed you have to be very careful about some fake price tickets on the shelf and when you pay they rip you off I have attached pictures which is can proof and explain what am talking about the water price $4.49 they charge me $7.29 it happens a lot to me paying over shelf price also I have port chest nut it was off and moldy and much more
shopped at Mandurah spud shed purchased 4 different packs of chicken, legs 2 wings and breast over $60 worth. All where off I do not live near any stores so have tried contacting spud shed have had no response .I have sent photo's to company Show details
Sick of buying meat that smells anything but fresh. Grey stinky rubbish.. the quality of the fresh produce is atrocious. But been caught too many times with rotten meat.

Did my first and last shop at spudshed. They are low cost on many products and on fruit and vegetables but you usually get what you pay for. In my opinion, the pricing is similar to Aldi, the vegetables are a little cheaper but nowhere near the same quality. Maybe the spuds are but I didn't buy any. Show details

purchased N.Z. oysters at Sudshed Barragup. Did not check the expiry date. Tried one and it was unedible and made me sick. Checked the product date 14 Nov 2024, use by 30 April 2026. Went back and lodged a compliant , noone with authority too do… Read more
anything about it. They took my details and siad they would pass it on to Their Food Saftey officer. One week later nothing. I believe they don't have enough warehouse space and produce sits in the carpark untill the delivery trucks arrive hence the frozen food starts to melt and the package vegies etc get hot. The health department is aware of this but takes no action as they have be told by the Government not to enforce regulations .Another example of the Labour Government looking after us.
Follow-up · Spudshed failed to follow up on this which I believe is quite normal for this operation. No longer go to Spudshed as they have no concern for thier customers or produce. If you are looking at frozen food and it is frosted be vary weary as it means that it has been partialy defrosted.
Please be careful with the specials or sales they have! Got a few Mrs Mac’s doughnuts that were on sale and definitely one or two days old and you could taste it unfortunately
Follow-up · Yes I checked the use by dates and there was still two days left on them! Spoke to someone through email correspondence and they asked for a copy of my receipt which I gave them and I told them that their vegetables and fruit were fantastic but she told me I should’ve brought the donuts back in For a refund. Didn’t offer me one online so after… Read more

I have reviewed in the past how Coles and Woolworths are ripping of customers who buy Dare 2 liter expresso coffee ( $7.50 each ) I have discovered that Spud Shed are now selling this item for $5.99 each. They have my business.
Spud shed morley – Pretty happy with service .glad they didn't have self serve like others supermarkets .all the meat groceries I have bought has been fresh as have the veggies and fruit.loved there brand of spuddie chips delicious. And a lot less salty

This review is for spudshed bulk scotch-fillet Spearwood. I gave it 2 stars as it's much cheaper than the supermarket chains. Apart from that, it's a toss up between an old leather boot or a rubber thong and if you're lucky you'll get gristle galore. I also suspect some water has been pumped in for good measure.
worker locked the door on me and my friends because he accused us of stealing and made us lift up our shirts, they found nothing because we didnt steal and then he was telling us to stfu and that he would hit my friend if he wasnt working right now and made fun of how we looked
I highly do not recommend the current special (31/7/26) on two lamb shanks at $14.49kg. After one day of purchase I opened the pack and noticed there was a definite "off" smell that just didn't seem right. It was vacuum packed and marked as 100% Aust. lamb with 1 week left before expiry. I still proceeded to roast both shanks in the oven and once… Read more
cooked it still had the bad smell that I was just not familiar with as Aussie lamb. It just didn't have that typical recognisable flavour. I tried to eat it but just couldn't because of the smell so I threw it all into the bin. A friend of mine who is an ex butcher had warned me about their quality. It might be cheaper, but it's not worth losing an acceptable quality. Lesson learnt!

Vegetables are a good price but unfortunately, I don't think the people who harvest give a hoot. Theres always tons of sand in the broccoli, which is almost impossible to wash out, and sand in the zucchinis which IS impossible to wash off because it gets embedded in the skin. You have to peel it, but that's where most of the nutrition is! Show details
I have now ceased shopping there.False economy with fruit & veg/meat yes cheaper prices, however after taking into account what you land up throwing away due to poor quality it becomes VERY EXPENSIVE.The grocery and Perishables [Refrigerated] so called specials are in the main very weak, same old regurgitated items many of which are NOT basic… Read more

I’ve had issues before with vegetables from the Baldivis store going off quickly, but decided to give them another try. On Sunday morning (after a night shift), I bought a 1kg bag of tomatoes for $3.99. Unfortunately, in less than 24 hours they had already turned mouldy and started to break down. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced poor… Read more
shelf life from their produce, which is disappointing. I understand prices are competitive, but quality needs to be consistent.
I’ll be going back to my local fresh produce store instead—more expensive, but significantly better quality and reliability.
Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend buying fresh produce here.
The meat quality is not always good..recently took back a pack,it still had a week to go..but was rotten in smell, the young lady at the service desk agreed she nearly fell backwards when smelling it. But the allowed me to go and get another pack of same meat and do a swap. Show details

Why morley spudshed delivery service is worsed with uber? Specially last night I went yo pick up a order around 9.05 pm I had to wait until 10.40 pm to collect my order and the woman who packaging the order told me to cancel my last order if not she not going to handover my order. The reason im waiting more than hour so it's recorded in the… Read more
system. When I asked several times she refused to collect my order and gave priority for others. This issue only happen in morley spudshed, other outlets service nit that much bad.Specially i was noticed Pakistan or Bangladesh woman work in this outlet she is very lazy to complete orders, due to this case I have to balance the customer side too. According to my experience working crew with Vietnam, butane and Australian are giving better service and working fast. If anyone need details about this worker i have recorded evidence about this lazy member. Please try to enhance night time service for delivery orders.(sat ,January 31 2025, 9.00 pm - 10.45 pm)
Bought a $40 smoked ham for Christmas. Sadly a good half of the weight ended up being bone. Almost equal weight, such a let down, no where near enough to go around for the price. Will be buying from major chains in future. The value here was pathetic. Show details
Horrible quality especially with fresh vegetables. Bought 2 bags of packaged tomatoes only to find out had more than half of them to be rotten inside. beyond the hours of your big grocers like Coles and Woolworths. Didn't bother going back to return because I would only get a refund max, but they wouldn't change the way they sell produce. It's been happening from past and will keep happening.
I have on more than one occasion bought bagged vegetables from the Spud Shed Thornlie Store and found them to be rotten or moldy when un-bagging them at home. Some of the potatoes in the 4kg bag were oozing a puss like liquid while others went off within a week and on some occasions the carrots had a dark mold growing on the skin. The off… Read more
vegetables were not obvious until the bag was open as the smell was not obvious in the store and the orange carrot bag camouflaged the mold. On one occasion I bought a cabbage to make coleslaw and found the inside to be rotten when I cut it open.
I did get a replacement bag of potatoes from the store, but it was inconvenient to take it back costing me time and fuel. The cabbage and carrots I just binned.
I note that the staff are always polite but feel that management must improve the freshness of the vegetables they stock in the store.
I also note that I like the business model of Spud Shed but but they need to concentrate on supplying fresh perishables in my opinion.
About time Spudshed took on the big crispy chip makers and have nailed it. Home grown crispy chips bigger, thicker, tastier and priced so well. I recommend everyone who enjoys crisps to go and buy and try especially whilst they on special. Well done Tony you have done it again. Show details

back to Jandakot Spud shed and launched my complaints, was very disappointed with the response from the Teller - only to be told here is your refund, and no sense of apology from the market. I asked if i could see the manager, and was told the manager is out but I could meet the assistance. I explained my case to the Assistance Manager - [Name Removed], and the best I could get from him was a laugh!!!!!!!
