1 Michelle  · I have so much to say about this terrible company, but it seems that the less-than-2-star rating should be enough to convince you to stay away.
1 George S.  · Terri Sxheer insurance - is insurance that does not pay … do not take a policy
1 Aussie  · We Where looking at this thanks to product reviews, and a friend that went through this company with there problems. They seem like a joke.
1 Jeff  · Owned by Suncorp – Owned by Suncorp for years- why do they still use his name? Rates are high- customer service Low. Avoid !!
5 SB Port Pirie house  · Highly recommend – Great to deal with, staff are brilliant, every issue resolved with great communication
1 Robert Sh.  · total scammers – They are total scammers as they don't follow their own product disclosure statement. More details and evidence will be released later

Please if you have investments and family, I beg you DO NOT EVER consider using this company. The lie, gaskight and manipulate their way out of any responsibility. They will not pay you out and it will have to go to the AFCA. They intentionally divert you around and around we have nearly lost our home as a result. I have a pregnant wife and I am disabled and have been treated with complete discrimination. Show details

Was recommended as people said they are good for investment properties. One main issue is they dont offer monthly repayments, they prefer it to be paid at once compared to other companies who sign you up for 12 months but allow you to repay monthly. Show details

Very slow response, claim processing and carelessness. We have sent the Tenant Ledgers twice, but still ask for the same document. After one month and a half, still without any outcome or sending insurance adjuster to site for confirmation. This company has been referred to us by a local real estate agent manager so we transferred from another insurance company to this one. Horrible experience. Show details

Extremely horrible experience worst insurance company scams Australians by misleading information and services. The claim process took 6 months they received all the information and they declined the 60K payment. Unreliable and not worth to buy Terri sheer insurance. Show details

Just keep on asking for same documentation!! – We have had a claim in with Terri Sheer for almost 2 months. Our rental was trashed by out going tenants and we need the house cleaned up and sorted to sell it. We have been paid a small amount of lost rent, but all they are doing is constantly asking for the same documentation from our real estate and pushing time out by 10 days constantly.… Read more

Surely it’s not that hard to sort this. This after all is your job. We were told you were the best insurance to have and we now are in a predicament of losing alot of money simply for your mismanagement. We now have Easter coming up it will be delayed for even more time! Please just sort this out so we don’t have yo take further action.

Do not insured with Terri Scheer – Do not insure with Terri Scheer. It is very clear that the leakage of our sewerage pipe has caused the cracks inside our house. We lodge the claim to ask Terri Scheer to pay for the damages that caused by the water leakage, which is covered by their policy. Terri Scheer sent out an engineer and gave us the report saying that the cracks are due the… Read more

soil under the house is very active and the trees at the Connor of the garden has changed the moisture of the soil.

They just try to find every excuse to not pay out a claim. If the soil is not suitable to build a house, council would not be letting developer to build house at the start. Second, if the soil has problems, i am sure there would be cracks for my neighbours houses too, which they don't have any problems at all.

If you have been treated unfairly, please take your complain to AFCA as this would be the next step we are taking. There are a lot of articles on internet saying the engineering company are acting on the insurance favour and try to minimise the payout for the insurance company. If the engineers not acting on the insurance company's favour, the insurance company would not give them business in future.

Absolute worst insurance business I have ever dealt with – Took nearly 6 months to be paid for our roof storm damage, asked what caused the roof storm damage? Ahh .... a storm???? Needed a "causeation report", that no one had ever heard of. No continuity of service, 1 person should handle the claim! Requested ridiculous information, and kept mis interpreting information given to them. Continually fobbed… Read more

off, got sick of hearing they were swamped with claims from NSW floods. We pay insurance with storm cover, why do they make it so hard? The claim was less than $5000.00.

Poor Loyalty – When renewing my policy I always check against other policies and whether it would be cheaper to be a new customer or loyal one. In this case it is cheaper for me to be a new customer than to renew my policy as an existing customer. This plainly shows new customer acquisition is more important than retention. Show details

shadow of a doubt, pls steer clear of this insurer at all costs. Now at 5 months for a small job, forcing a tenant out with health concerns and leaving works sitting idle with no resolve after a major storm. Not a Service team, and do not do anything in a timely manner. $300 increase in policy premiums per property, very lacking. Zero stars, pick up your game team.

Follow-up  · Despite a scope of works being signed as per the builders recommendation and an excess paid for the coverable event, the preferred builder has failed to commence works, and since advising the works can not be warranted. communication, inaccurate reports, scope confusion, buck passing and unreliable and incompetent building repair people are the norm. I've lodged 7 complaints, but each time they are closed with promises of doing better, which are not fulfilled. Stay away from Terri Scheer, Suncorp and any other companies in this brand.

Follow-up  · I made a complaint to AFCA which is delayed in being assigned to a case worker due to a high volume of insurance complaints. Terri Scheer have slowed down solving my complaint by claiming they are waiting for the result of AFCA. They are effectively punishing me for raising a complaint. We’re in a housing crises and this rental house has been empty since May. 9 months since storm damage.

Minimum amount covered for landlord's insurance contents is $70,000 . I asked if this could be reduced as the contents in the property are less than half that amount and the response came a week later saying the minimum could not be reduced. Their premium was also much higher than other insurers probably due to the higher contents cover. Show details

Follow-up  · Went elsewhere. Lots of other providers with lower premiums and better choices.

Terri Scheer stands out as a preferred landlord policy provider and is highly recommended. The response to the claim process was prompt and efficient. From my experience of insuring with them over many years, I find that the delay in receiving a claim paymemt is largely due to an inefficient claims manager and not the product. claim documents are submitted and the managing agent and/or the landlord has done the right thing to take action and minimise any loss, the payment process is prompt and helps to protect the landlord’s interests in a responsible and timely way.

Deserving of a full 5 stars .

All their claims for accidental tenant damage and loss of rent are incorrect. TS makes every excuse under the sun NOT to pay. If they do pay loss of rent then it takes them months. professionals could not find why the ducted was not working and turning off. Could not rent the property because it did not comply the minimum standard in Victoria. TS refused to pay rent although the tenants had stuffed a bag of clothes in the roof foil. I have 2 cases for which I will be taking them to AFCA. Take the insurers on and fight for your right. They want you to back off. Don't let them win, you pay insurance for unforeseen circumstances so if you have a genuine case then take them head on.

Do not use. Our tenants put an iron burn in the carpet, destroyed our kitchen benchtop and broke a blind. They outsourced another company to assess the damage who then outsourced to a building company 3 hours away from our house. 5 weeks later and we still haven't had anyone look at it. How are we supposed to rent the house without repairs being… Read more

done. At this rate we have given up and will do the repairs ourself. As other reviews state DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They drag things out so long and have different excesses for everything. I was told $250 excess for carpet burn. $500 excess for blind (tenant damage) and $1000 excess for benchtop. That totals $1750. They then state the tenant bond covers initial costs and they cover the difference. Our bond is $2500 plus the excess of $1750 which means if the damage is less than that it is pointless.

They say they are a great number 1 landlord insurance cover. After 10 weeks of being dragged through the mud they accepted the claim. House is halfway through getting repaired. Now 8-9 weeks later they have said we made a mistake and your claim is now denied. Leaving me with a half finished house. Good on ya mate. STAY AWAY FROM THEM COMPLETELY.… Read more

I've been with TS for many years. The recent offer to renew came without payment details. I had no response to my email and I couldn't get through on the phone. Amazingly I received another letter of offer to renew a couple of weeks after I sent my email again without the second page and payment details. Not a problem, I've now insured with another company. Show details

I had a recent claim with Terri Scheer, they were excellent to deal with, their staff were always polite, professional and working towards getting the claim finalised.
