I’d been really looking forward to getting the Theragun Elite – people said so many good things about it, and it is costly – and was hoping it would assist with getting my muscles to recover. To begin with, it was very good, for around ten times I… Read more

used it, and I thought it did a good job. But, directly after that, the battery simply stopped working; it wouldn’t charge and, at this point, the kit is no use to me.

I got in touch with Therabody to tell them what had occurred, and was anticipating a solution, seeing as how much the item cost, but they wouldn’t accept any warranty request, since it had just passed its expiry date. I find this enormously annoying, especially considering the sum I gave for it. To have a piece of equipment of this quality fail, and then get no aid from the business, is particularly upsetting.

For a product of this cost, I had expected both the quality, and the support from the firm to be far better. The situation of being left with a broken item, and no help from the company, feels as though I’ve thrown my money away. Be careful if you’re thinking of investing in this – while the thing might do well at first, I can’t suggest it if the company won’t back its products when something goes incorrect.

Save your money.

Follow-up  · How long did it last? Not event two years. What was the issue? Unable to charge the battery. The Battery is not replaceable. What was the warranty period? 1 Year.

The Theragun Elite worked well while it lasted, but ultimately this is an expensive, disposable product that I would not recommend. Despite careful use and proper storage, the battery failed just after the warranty period and the device stopped charging entirely. This appears to be a known and inevitable issue, yet there is no option to replace… Read more

the battery, no paid repair service, and no way to fix what is a minor component failure.

For a premium-priced product, this is unacceptable. Once the battery goes, the entire device becomes landfill. There is no sustainability consideration built into the product design or the company’s support model.

Customer service was quick and polite, but that’s where it ends. After escalation, the outcome was simply that nothing could be done. No goodwill gesture, no meaningful discount, no trade-in, no refurbishment option. The only solution offered was to buy a brand new device at full price.

I wasn’t asking for a free replacement. I was asking for any incentive to remain a customer. There was none.

At this price point, you expect durability, repairability, or at least reasonable post-warranty support. Therabody offers none of these. The product will deteriorate and fail over time, and when it does, you are completely on your own.

My advice: don’t buy. Get a much cheaper alternative. Paying extra for this brand is not worth it long term, as the product is effectively disposable once the battery fails.

Had the unit for about 3 years its been used for maybe an hour all up and it did work well. Now the battery wont charge. When unit is pluged in it looks like its charging as it takes a while to get to 100%. Reads 100% when pluged in then instatly goes back to 0% when unpluged. Unit was nearly $600 when new not worth it poor quality just buy a cheap ebay one or 6. Show details

Terrible product – Only used the theragun a handful of times before it stopped charging. Now it is completely useless. Company refuse to exchange or fix the problem as it's just outside the warranty period, despite the fact that this is a known issue with the battery (see other reviews on this topic). Total waste of money don't buy it! Show details

Complete waste of money – I am a dentist and purchased three guns for the dentists at my clinic at a high price. Probably used it around five times. And in less than two years, it has completely stopped working. Do NOT waste your money buying this. You are better off buying an ebay product. Show details

Just stopped working – Had it for a little over a year and it stopped charging. Only used it every few months or so in that time. The customer service was really unhelpful. Checked on line and seems to be a common issue. Wish they would invest in better-quality batteries. Show details

Incredible for my bad back and shoulders – I’ve had this for about 2 months and I love it. The battery lasts a good amount of time and it charges quickly. It has been wonderful for my bad back and shoulders. Since using it regularly it has gotten rife of the awful pins and needles the removal massage therapist caused. Show details

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! – Our 18 month old Theragun Elite stopped working due to a defective button, which after searching online, found it to be a common fault on this machine. For a $649 product to die after 18months is ridiculous, and I have found it to be impossible to actually speak to an "agent" about it. Next time I will save my money and buy a better machine, for half the cost, and with a proper warranty and after-care. Show details

Doubly Disappointed – I borrowed a friend's Theragun to have a trial run before I bought it. It was very good and I was keen to buy it. I then bought the Theragun Elite. After opening the packaging I put it on to charge. After 6 hours it was still on zero percent. So I took it back to the supplier and exchanged it for another one. Only to get home and find that it also… Read more

didn't charge. After reading many reviews on the internet, it appears that faulty battery chargers is a common fault with this product - so disappointing!

Highly recommend! – The massage gun is an absolute game changer - we use it before we go for a run, before going to gym/jiu jitsu - it really helps to warm up our muscles and prevent muscle soreness. The battery life is plenty (2 hours), it isn't heavy and it isn't too loud. It's also relatively small, so you could easily pack it in your suitcase/overnight bag and… Read more

take it away without it taking up too much space. It has its own carry bag so it's always secured.

If you participate in exercise and often suffer from muscle soreness, I'd definitely recommend investing in a massage gun. We did a lot of research and wanted a good one so we didn't have to invest again and we absolutely love our Theragun!

Product is so-so, service is crap – I bought a Therabody in late Dec. The product works fine, but I found the Hydragun a much quieter product. Therabody offers a 30 money back guarantee, so I contacted them on the 29th of Dec to return the product. I’m still waiting for them to send me authorisation to do so. I guess they are waiting for 30 days to elapse and then tell me it’s too late. Show details

High quality and the app is amazing! – I have used Theragun before at my work gym, so I know how great it is. The handle really sets this product appear for all other massagers. The triangular handle means you can grip it in the most comfortable way to hit the spots you need to massage. This model is also much quieter than previous models. What I have not seen before is the app, I use… Read more

it on iPad and iPhone. THE APP IS TRULY AMAZING, a real game changer. The app is so great that I don't actually look at the control panel of the device after switching it on......therefore, I would recommend considering the Prime version vs the Elite, as I understand they both can use the app. So, what is so good about the app? Well, it is full of preprogrammed exercises or programs. When the program is selected, another screen displays and it shows a visual of where to use the device, it shows how to hold it, automatically selects the appropriate speed, recommends an attachment to use, shows the force being used and if the force is in the recommended force band and a timer. There are many programs. Range for sports such as running, cycling, walking. Each sport has a warm up and recovery programs. Even yoga is in there. Then there are times of day programs, eg waking up, before bed, working from home!. Then there are the body specific programs, eg gluteus, hamstrings etc. The app really gives me the confidence that you are doing the right exercises for your sport or situation, targeting the right areas for an appropriate duration and force. Plus it doesn't require a lot of my time so I use it more often. I would buy this product just for the app alone!

A ZERO for service – Theragun Elite would not charge. First email was ignored, second time a month later I was able to return the device. Not a word since, email not answered. Product seems good, service??? Come on Theragun, shame it has to come to this.
