Really dissapointing from foxtel is the iq4 box/remote. Forward in technology in a sense as there are things you can now do that you couldn't do in… Read more

the past however the design and layout is frustrating to say the least, unneccessarily complicated in many aspects for example the play and stop options for watching recorded programs is not posssible without having to go through the menu options, foxtel box turning itself off everyday for what reason i'm not sure, the light on the remote constantly coming on and off while not even being used, regular glitches while watching t.v. Reminders coming up on screen for live sporting events that don't even exist. i could go on and on and pick apart the things wrong with the iq4 box til the cows come home. Fault riddled not very well thought out device. A message to foxtel bring back the iq2 box and then add new features to that as it was so much more simple and functional instead of forcing people to have to resort to this piece of rubbish.

After moving to Australia from India, I wanted an easy way to continue watching my favourite Indian TV channels. Real X Box has been a great choice.… Read more

The setup was simple, the streaming quality is excellent, and I can watch Hindi, Punjabi, and other regional channels without any hassle. The interface is easy to use, and the service has been reliable with very few interruptions. It's a good option for Indian families living in Australia who want to stay connected with entertainment from home.

initial installation the Apps key on the remote would not navigate to the Apps screen, but instead brought up a pop-up displaying network properties. The issue was solved by downloading the latest firmware update. The most reliable way was found to be to use a pc or laptop to navigate to the aerial box website and choose the option to download the update to a usb drive. The usb stick will need to be inserted in the usb socket in the rear of the device, then it pretty much takes care of itself. There is no response from putting the usb stick in the front socket - this seems to be reserved for recording only.

Can't Stream ABC and SBS – I purchased DMR-UBT1 from Videopro earlier this year . After unsuccessfully trying to set up free to air streaming the Panasonic support site for… Read more

this machine informs that we streaming of ABC and SBS (our Australian national broadcasters!) is no longer supported due to unspecified updates by the content providers. There is no firmware update mentioned to fix the issue with the machine and they mention incompatible hardware which means it is now just a very expensive and hard to operate DVD player. I have a a number of connected display devices around my hone and the limitation makes this device no longer fit for my purposes as a centralised home network media player/recorder. So now I have do some sort of messy reverse DLNA setup from a far more capable device (A USB streaming stick - about $29 at Amazon, Ebay, etc). I have purchased Panasonic projectors, audio equipment and cameras in the past however thats not likely in the future due to concerns of premature obscelesnce like this device.

First contact should be our suppliers as any other product does. If issues with channels or VOD you can report directly from the box. Agree some channels have issues but there are multiple links. Before buying an IPTV , good idea to understand how it works. All IPTV boxes working same way and have similar issues. My wifi issue was resolved once upgraded software vis the resellers assistance.

is great and works well on my wifes Surface and also my samsung phone. It has the ability to link up to a recorder, but I have never done this. If you are looking for a second TV if someone is using the main one and have a computer handy this is a good unit. You will need a second antenna attachment like a splitter box to attache the unit and a power connection.

This STB won't help Digitech's reputation – A while ago I stupidly managed to break the antenna connector of the back of my original Dick Smith set top box. I ended up buying a later model off… Read more

Ebay supposedly unused - but wasn't and it stopped recording. Recently I ended up buying a Digitech 1080 HD box. The following are the problems I've found with it along with the 'back up service'.

1. I found the box appears to be picking up 60 cycles mains hum buzz. The circuitry in this box appears to be almost identical to the original Dick Smith box as the graphics for the menu appear to be the same. I found the DS to generally be very good but the Digitech box picks up this incredibly annoying buzz - I don't think I've heard this noise since we had a valve tv in the late 1950's. The distributors (Electus) suggested re scanning all channels which I did twice - the buzz is still there when a a 'still' is shown on the program and when using the 'UP' key to change stations. Ive checked all connections.

2. It appears the picture quality isn't as good as the amazing quality from the DS box. The picture quality from the DS box was startlingly good with my Sony Trinitron (CRT) tv. Currently the colour balance with the new box is 'iffy' and I've fiddled a lot with the tv settings to try to get it right.

3. The manual doesn't have arrows pointing to the unmarked keys on the remote control, so you have to guess. This is really poor. The distributor didn't help much when I emailed them and asked them to re write the remote diagram page.

4. Electus - who distribute Digitech - don't have a service division you can contact. Hard to believe. If you need back up service for an STB, try another brand. This box MAY work with your tv, but the reception I get in my area quality wise is generally very good.
