while we packed up a 3br home to move within the same suburb.

When it came to move the boxes, it was seamless - arrived on time and was really easy. We could have had the boxes stored with their facility but chose to keep them in the driveway of the new house and kept them after the actual move. It gave us the chance to load them up from another traditional storage box, which was much more expensive and declutter and empty that storage. When we were finally done, pick up was organised really quickly and arrived on time as arranged.

The moving team were prompt, had great comms, friendly, super helpful and most importantly really careful, taking the utmost care with all our belongings during our recent house move. It certainly made a stressful day a lot easier. I would definitely recommend Safe Removalist & Storage for any move, we certainly will be using the team again if and when we move again in the future.

- everything was packed and ready to go. I complained to Holloway on the day of the service as I had paid for 3 men to move my belongings. The total time was 7 hours. This was completely excessive. I spoke with Emmanuel from customer service and he agreed this time was excessive. I was sent a series of confusing invoices for various amounts at different times leading up to and after the move. Stressed and worried about the overall price, I requested for all invoices for everything to be sent to me at once. This was ignored and two of the movers demanded a further payment of $1800 at the end of the move in my new unit. I said I was only willing to pay $1000 excess -this was declined by Emanuel. Two men stayed in my new unit and would not leave until $1200 was paid on the spot - I was told to have my phone on speaker. I paid this under duress. That night I could not find any of my bedding anywhere and slept in the cold without a pillow or blanket. I visited my old place the next day and all my bedding was left in a heap, disgarded and other small items still left in the home. I specifically asked a mover in person to make sure they locked the door on the way out. The door was unlocked when I arrived the next day. I submitted a formal complaint and requested an apology and full refund. I felt completely taken advantage of and mislead as I am a young single woman (moving four pets to the next place) on my own. I have tried to negotiate with Holloway and they have now issued me another invoice and dismissed my legitimate concerns. I have lodged a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading today. Ladies, do NOT book this service.

Update 26/5/26: I have continued to be harassed to pay more money several weeks after the move. I was told via phone I did not have to pay this last invoice due to my concerns/complaint. Now I have to. This is extortion (see photo). This has been updated with Fair Trading.

Update: 1/06/2026: I have continued to receive emails demanding further payment with threats that if I do not pay, they will deduct $100 a week from my credit card. Still waiting to hear back from Fair Trading.

Update: 2/06/2026: Further intimidation and extortion regarding an addition $100 a week charge for non payment for a previously withdrawn fee.

Update: 30/7/26: Holloway refused to follow NSW Fair Trading’s advice and communicate with me regarding their obligations under consumer law. Fair Trading informed me Hollow refused to work with me or understand my position.

I have taken the matter to NCAT and the hearing is Tuesday next week.

Update: NCAT Tuesday 4/8/2026. Holloway refused to accept my revised offer during conciliation today. The representative said he has heard a voice recording of me on the phone and tried to play semantics. He kept bombarding me with accusations and saying it is normal for a 2 bedroom unit move around the corner with 3 men to take 7 hours. He kept throwing financial jargon at me. I ended up crying in the conciliation. The dispute is now going to Hearing in coming months. Terrible organisation who refuse to even meet half way.

didn't fully understand at sign-up and didn't expect to be used so aggressively.

Section 4.6 gives them the one-sided power to increase monthly rent by any amount, as many times a year as they like, with just 14 days' notice. As a customer, your only choice is to accept the price hike or move out on short notice. Be sure to read the fine print carefully before committing.

If I had known how they abuse this clause on their customers, I wouldn't have selected them.

A special mention also goes to our driver, Jenny, who made what could have been a very stressful moving experience feel effortless. She was patient, understanding, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. Many companies in this industry seem focused on charging customers for every minute and treating the process as purely transactional. Rent A Space Bella Vista was the complete opposite. They genuinely cared about helping me, reducing the stress of the move, and finding solutions that worked for my situation.

What stood out most was that every interaction felt personal. Everyone always had a smile on their face, treated me with respect, and made me feel valued as a customer rather than just another number. It’s clear that this team prioritises customer experience over simply maximising revenue, which is something that has become increasingly rare.

This is the standard of service that competitors should be striving for, but in my experience, they don’t even come close.

customer service—something that’s sadly rare these days. It was refreshing to deal with a platform where someone actually replies promptly and helpfully.

My host echoed the same sentiment: Spacer works exceptionally well for both hosts and renters. When I needed to terminate my space early (since my new place has a double garage), there were no issues at all. Both the host and Spacer handled it seamlessly, and Spacer quickly refunded the balance of my prepaid rent (since payments are made a month in advance).

Special shoutout to Clarisse, the customer service representative who assisted me with the termination process. Her professionalism and efficiency were top-notch. It’s no surprise that her name pops up in other reviews as well—clearly, she’s a star on the team! Management should seriously consider recognising her contributions.

concerning, they admitted to suspecting a break-in occurred months prior, but completely failed to notify customers or conduct basic security checks on the units. They sell storage, locks and the illusion of security, but the facility lacks basic monitoring and customer care. Management informed me they only retain CCTV footage for 90 days and could not provide any recordings.

back rate hasn't changed since 2019 based on other reviews - they will return your call when it suits them, never pick up the phone, never text, email or leave a voicemail to follow up... and then accuse you of being hard to get in touch with - even when you send them the call logs showing the opposite.

The boxes come with other people's stickers and tape, and are bent out of shape with clear lines of use, but the company will accuse you of being the first to bend them out of shape. The boxes themselves are fine and easy to put together, but the company itself is so hard to deal with I would go anywhere else next time.

I organised box pickup multiple times and they failed to collect both times after I waited around all day without so much as a text to say they weren't coming. Then after flaking the second time, they billed me for an extra three months of hire - they charged $300 before they emailed or called to notify me, and I had to threaten VCAT and seek consumer affairs advice before I was able to finally organise them to pick up their property and return the money refunded. This is for property I desperately wanted to return. I had to hold onto the boxes for so long I moved them from place to place! Completely dishonest and shady behaviour.

I was so disappointed because the box quality is fine and it's a great business model, but I will never use this company again.

joke. I tried to cancel my father’s storage as he has gone into a nursing home and does not want storage anymore as all his money goes to the nursing home. I have enduring power of attorney for my father but they refused to look at it or cancel it. I said I’d bring my father in & that wasn’t good enough either. They want a letter from the home to say he’s gone in there & an email from my dad’s email account saying he wants to cancel. Unfortunately my dad does not remember his email details & hasn’t been able to use his account for years, & I told them this . I said the email would come from my email address as that’s the only one we use for dad as I receive all correspondence to me. I’ve had no problem with using my power of attorney anywhere else including the nursing home. My father is not in a state to deal with this so it has to be done by me. I am the only one to handle all my dad’s affairs. I now have to contact the nursing home & ask them to write a letter stating dad is in a home, then, I can only send an email from my account so it is in writing & hope this will be enough to cancel it!

a delivery drivers was fine, everything went smoothly, I really like how the designated dates of pick up and drop off accurate, Clearly communicated to you, and not unpredictable. The only downside, which is understandable due to the large distance being travelled, is that you have to figure out what to do for two weeks without furniture, because despite their best efforts to give you accurate pick up and drop off dates, it’s still doesn’t address your personal need for a place to stay and furniture/bedding in the meantime whilst you wait for your POD to arrive at your destination. Bear in mind, this was for Brisbane to Adelaide, quite a far interstate move. It may be a shorter wait time for short distances. Long story short, I would definitely recommend PODS, The only issue you need to figure out is whether or not you should book an Airbnb/hotel/stay with family/friends in the interim! Oh, almost forgot to mention, the cost saving that you get. I imagine is because they don’t help you load or secure the stuff in the pod at all. So make sure you have some muscle/elbow grease/friends/family ready to help you pack heavy stuff like fridges and couches, etc.
