We had a Roof Stuck situation and I couldn’t find anything wrong. No tripped breaker or blown fuse. Rang Jimmy at the Caboolture office and he guided me through fixing it in just a few minutes. Absolutely bloody Legend status. Got us back to living our best lives and not panicking over how bad this could get. Awesome. Show details

We have had our Tanami X15L for a little over 2 years and have had no issues. During our latest trip we experienced an issue with the roof not lifting. After searching high and low for the roof controller we called and spoke to Jimmy. He was extremely helpful pointing us in the right direction to locate the remote panel. He then patiently walked… Read more

Brought a Tanami x13 show demonstration caravan. New to the van world and found the roof not lifting when pressing up. My partner and I looked online everywhere online for the answers and spent 2 days trying to find the issue with no luck. One five minute phone call to Jimmy. S and the roof was up and working. ⭐ 1 Star Do NOT bother with Austrack Campers – terrible experience. From the moment I put down my deposit, everything was promises, promises. But as soon as it came time for inspection and pickup, the story changed. I was asked to provide the bank cheque before I was even allowed to inspect the camper — which was an immediate red flag. When I… Read more
finally saw the camper, it was nothing short of shocking. There was extensive surface rust, a dent in the roof, damage to the bung and water tanks, and even the main roof seal was compromised. Inside, screws where the bed met the frame weren’t even secured. The overall build showed zero attention to detail and incredibly poor quality.
I requested a refund immediately, but since then I’ve been ignored. Phone calls and emails have gone unanswered, including from the branch manager. The customer service has been appalling — they avoid taking any liability and are extremely hard to get in contact with.
Save yourself the stress, time and money. Do not bother with Austrack Campers. Easily the worst experience I’ve had with any purchase.
If you’re thinking about buying an Austrack, I really wish someone had told us what we’re about to share. We’ve been travelling full-time in our 2024 Tanami X13, and while the layout of the van is good, the after-sales support from Austrack has honestly been the most stressful part of our lap of Australia… (besides the part where we lost our tow… Read more
hitch )
To be fair, they did fix one thing at the start. the peeling laminate on the benchtop at handover. But the bigger issues we reported just as warranty ended just got ignored or brushed aside.
The bathroom door has never closed properly since day one. Because of that ongoing issue, the bathroom handle eventually broke and even though we raised the door problem from the moment we picked it up, they now want nothing to do with it. Same with the crack in the fibreglass near the bathroom sink. We sent photos a week after purchase and again recently as we near the end of our lap. They just stopped acknowledging it and told us they’re not fixing it.
Then there’s the actuator for the electric roof. Yes, we were six months out of the basic warranty, but this was a major failure, which still falls under consumer law. Rather than investigate it properly, we had to get our own independent auto electrician to test and fault-find just to prove the actuator was actually the problem. Only then did they agree to send a replacement. We were told to drive to Pakenham to pick it up. We showed up, staff had no idea what we were talking about. Another completely wasted trip. Not surprising after visiting multiple Austrack showrooms and hearing from staff themselves that communication between warranty and the shop floor is basically non-existent. Turns out the part hadn’t even left the head office, even though it was confirmed by the warranty team to had been delivered 3 days prior.
And here’s the part that really made us question things…. When we submitted one of our warranty claims, the warranty team actually emailed us saying we had received a “generous discount” when buying the van - around $2,000 it was (as we removed the fridge and had the delivery fee waived) almost as if that should explain or justify the lack of support. We honestly couldn’t believe that was even said. Since when does getting a show deal mean you should expect problems or reduced service?
Here are just some of the faults we’ve had to deal with:
• fridge slide catching on one side (ongoing, never repaired) • kitchen light shorting and tripping the hot water system (left unrepaired; we had to disconnect the light just to have hot water) • kitchen drawer bent despite barely using it (told it’s “wear and tear”… in an off-road van) • awning sagging to head height. still works, but poor quality. No support on how to tighten or anything that could be looked at. • control panel hinge broke (asked to buy a replacement; ignored) • fans randomly switching off (blamed “battery voltage” even though it sits at 13.5V; other owners had theirs replaced, but not us) • dust entering through bed hinge after being told we “wouldn’t need a DRS”… constant cleaning and headaches for the week that we were off-road - literally where we thought they were designed to be taken. • bed rivets popped twice after being “fixed” — reimbursed parts, not labour (still an issue) - although I’ve repaired again myself. • water pump failed (we paid for the replacement and no reimbursement offered) • front sticker cracked and faded badly (took about 4 months to get a new one out of “goodwill”) • bathroom light LEDs dead (out of warranty by six months, so refused)
And one more thing that stayed with us: At one of the shows, an Austrack staff member literally told us our van “sounds like a lemon” and that sometimes one out of a few hundred slip through. AND said ours might even qualify for replacement. We thought, “Alright, maybe they’ll actually help us now.”
But nothing changed.
Different staff say different things, no one follows through, and everything takes weeks or months of chasing. We gave them every chance to make things right. photos, videos, reports, long drives to their stores… but they simply didn’t want to take responsibility for the bigger problems.
So at this point, we’re leaving honest reviews everywhere (as we told them we would), and we’re filming our experience for YouTube. Not out of anger, just exhaustion from trying to get help and getting nowhere.
If you’re looking at an Austrack, please look past the marketing and the hype at the shows. The design is good and the sales and marketing team are excellent, but the support once they’ve got your money has been the biggest disappointment of our entire lap.
Our lap would have been a whole lot better if we’d left our Austrack on the showroom floor.
We’ve shared this story with plenty of people on the road - most are genuinely shocked, and many say their manufacturer support has been the complete opposite of what we’ve experienced.
We are very sorry to read this and disappointed… Read more

Needed a replacement awning for our Austrack Tanami X15A. Scott in spare parts did an outstanding job in getting it to us, going well and truly above and beyond. I’ve just retired from the automotive parts business and an organisations spare parts operation is often a good indicator as to its overall approach to QA and after sales services. Thank you Jimmy, You went way beyond answering my initial problem of getting starlink to work off 12 volts. You walked me through setting up my generator properly so it inputs the correct charge to my caravan and I will now have access to the correct power wherever we go. My starlink now works wherever we are. Thanks again Jimmy. As I said to you I think you are a genius. Regards Ron B

I have tried to be patient with Austrack, however I want to warn anyone else on here about the incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking experience we have had. Avoid Austrack at all costs. We bought a brand new Stockton X7 (March 2026) build, collected it at the beginning of April and have not been able to use it yet. We set it up on the driveway… Read more
and my 3 year old daughter fell through the bench seat as she tried to climb on to her bed. She scraped her leg and is now scared to even go in the van. After communicating with several other Stockton owners, it appears that during construction ours was not built with enough of a lip overhang to support any weight (mind you this is on the seating area used to access the bed by adults, and converts to a double bed). When returned for repairs, it came back worse! The chipboard was not replaced after being told it would be, and no support was added, the same thing would happen again, with half the weight applied. They have been IMPOSSIBLE to deal with, they refuse to replace the camper and we have now been waiting THIRTEEN WEEKS for repairs and STILL do not have a timeframe for their next attempt at 'fixing' all of the issues'. We are seeking legal action as we have been paying for the camper, insurance and rego for over 3 months, and have not even been able to use it. In addition, the van was further damaged while in for repair: A list of the major faults identified are below: -The ‘repaired’ chair still has splintered timber on top and underneath. The addition on the piece of steel does not provide any additional support and the chair cannot weight bare as needed to access the bed. This is a major failure and safety concern. The ‘repair’ also forces the cupboard well out of alignment, which means the table cannot go up and down without scraping and damaging, and the adjacent cupboard cannot open due to the pressure being pushed on it from the table. -The annex cords remaining uncovered – despite being shown another van where they are sealed -Further damage to the jockey wheel, which has not been repaired and appears unable to align correctly due to the screw placement -Scratches to the fridge that appear to have occurred during the repair process -Mark at the bottom and back of van where it has rubbed up against something -Screws not in completely on multiple fittings around the van -Consistent scratches, too many to count, along both edges of the roof of the van that were not there previously and leave exposed steel -Every bolt and attachment on the roof racks is rusted already -Deep and long scratches along roof edge -Globs of sealant all along the roof -Door clip rusted inside van C-aravan step covered completely in rust, it has been tucked underneath the van the entire time we have had it -Random unfilled screw holes -The repair under the table for the shifter is not only incredibly messy with silicone everywhere, but remains moving when used to move table -Rust in door frame and the frame of the van underneath the door -Rusted hinge inside the outside cupboards We have been told it could still be another THREE months until replacement parts arrive, taking it to a total of SIX MONTHS of owning the camper without being able to use it. To say we are devastated is an understatement. We have contacted the ACCC and have lodged a complaint with the ACL. If you have further experiences like ours, please reach out.

Poor quality and poor after sales service. Pakenham sales and service staff were good at fixing minor issues we had with our Gibb 16C. was a possibility of sway. Tried this and still not right. Got pulled sideways badly by a semi with an empty trailer. Denial by austrack of any issues. had van weight by independent company and found tare was above the vin plate by 130kg. Also height of van (l-r) was in error with the heaviest side being higher. Contacted service/warranty in QLD and got a negative response including statements that these independent weighing services were mavericks. We were not able to tow the van back to pakenham for them to investigate and the pakenham manager said we were wrong in saying the van was unstable. Overall apart from one of the sales guys and the pakenham service staff who have been as helpful as they can be Austrack have been in denial about all the issues we raised and even accused us of changing ou mind. After contacting the CEO several times and being handballed to other managers to deal with us we finally got what we were after in a full refund of the purchase price. It took threats of reporting to consumer affairs and to Transport Australia to get them to refund and still they denied there was anything wrong.

I want to provide this feedback, those that know me will say that I can be a very hard task master, our Talawana X15 busted the outback roads we went on like a hot knife through butter, from Marble Bar to Hedland, Pardoo Station and Barnhill Station, not a single glitch.
We couldn't get our HWS working which we weren't overly concerned about, thinking it would be something simple we were doing, and it turned out to be that way, as we had to pass by Austrack we thought we'd pop in, now the boys were flat to the floor with a Caravan expo in Mandurah and initially we were told to come back the following week by whoever took the phone call, given we live in Collie some 200 clicks away that wasn't an option.
We arrived on the Thursday, we'd had a mishap on the car (blown tyre coming out of Hedland) which in the 42 degree heat I may have forgotten to lift the jockey wheel up (I used it as a jack stand in the event the Colorado fell off the jack).
I walked in and got a hold of Tony (our sales consultant and he was a consultant not a salesman) who COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR US, within minutes he had Pete the gas guy come out, HWS sorted and he sorted a replacement jockey wheel nc saving us $400+
Throughout the initial sale, the delivery, the climatisation and operation appointment to the after sales support we could not be any more impressed.
Tick goes to the van which every body told me "don't buy Chinese" like the Chinese don't make any products.................I can tell you, the Chinese stuff is just as good as Aussie made, gets here when they promise to get it here and then the local team just kicks arse.
Thanks Tony, amazing service and support

and set it up (thursday afternoon), and find faults straight away. We called them within 2 hrs of picking it up, and were advised to just"submit a warranty claim". Their warranty claim form would not accept our details as we had purchased the camper on May 1st, and you could only submit dates up u til the 30th of April. We tried to call for assistance and submitted contact requests via the website, and just over 2 weeks later, there has still been radio silence to the contact requests. The trailer was returned the following Tuesday (Monday was a public holiday) as more faults were found over the weekend, including finding out that the trailer was not Road Worthy due to lights not night even being connected. This was after again being told to submit further warranty claims, but after advising the sheer degree of problems, were told to just bring it straight in. We were advised the trailer would be ready to collect the following Thursday, and had also presented them with what the service gentleman described as "a shopping list" of defects. We have emailed (which we were advised to do and it would be passed along to the correct person to deal with) and attempted to call to receive an explanation as to how we had been handed a trailer in such poor condition- let alone unroadworthy, and there has either been no calls, or being told we need to "speak to Perth" by [Name Removed] the Sales Manager. Perth were just as confused as we were, and flat out stated there was nothing they could do from the opposite side of the country, let alone at all. Further requests via social media, website and calls for contact have been ignored. We were advised yesterday after finally getting through to the service department, that the trailer was ready for collection a day early- we had to do the running around to find this out mind you. Upon arrival to collect- not all issues had been rectified. My partner had to wait while the remaining issues were fixed then and there- to their credit, but we are still missing a piece from our annex. We were advised that we would recieve a call by the end of today, and again nothing. I would strongly recommend against purchasing from this company, as although their trailers seem great (so long as not in the condition we have received our brand new one) their customer service is non-existent. The only recommendation I can make is to speak to [Name Removed], the sales manager I believe, at Rocklea, as he seems to be the only proactive staff member that has been attempting to assist us. Please save your money, and invest elsewhere

the 28.3.25 and was tested for leaks, mind you 400klm round trips and 6hrs of driving at my cost. The very next morning after we picked it up more rain over night and guess what still leaking, oh and they said they had video evidence of the check which I asked for, it was done with a hand held hose which hardly replicates a rain event, I forwarded my photos and videos to them as well. Still haven't been able to use the van since buying 3 months ago and been a nightmare, trying to get our money back due to the product faults and poor workman ship it has but they reckon it's a warranty issue, apparently they want to fix it again properly all I want to do is part ways with it. Very dissatisfied with the product and would steer clear of the brand all together.
