Lakeside Vet Centre

Too expensive compared to other vets – Staff are nice and the facility is good. But the cost of desexing my dog was close to double the price of any of the other vets. I would of gone elsewhere if l knew this before l took her there. After a friend commented that the price was outrageous l called 7 other local vets for pricing, and yes my friend was correct. Even the other vets were… Read more
shocked when l told them how much l was charged. Yes l probably should of shopped around but l never dreamed someone would charge twice the amount and trusted that this was the cost l would incur anywhere.
Do not send your cat or dogs here for boarding! – I worked here back when I was at University casual as a boarding assistant. First of all horrendous conditions for the cats and dogs. Would never put my dogs or cat in boarding after working here it traumatised me. The cats are in tiny metal cages where they can hardly even turn around. They get let out for a few minutes while the cages are… Read more
cleaned. They are all fed the same branded food that gives them upset stomachs same with the dogs they always had diarrhoea from the food we had to feed them. The dogs are also kept in disgusting conditions dark concrete kennels right next to each other all scared and barking. I was told to only take them out for 2 minute walks outside and that’s all they get all day. For the cost of the boarding absolutely disgusting I feel so sorry for the animals that go there for the boarding knowing what it is like. If you care about your pets physical and mental health do not put them in boarding here!
Excellent service and reasonable cost – I recommend this vet. I have used them for over a decade. My dog needed an x-ray and even during these 'Covid-19 times', the service was friendly and efficient. I don't have pet insurance so I was worried about the cost but they were very reasonable with what they charged. Thanks.
Amazing vet – I highly recommend this vets. I have taken both my dogs to them for several years and always been really happy with all of their service. The staff are always loving, thorough and reassuring and always explain treatment options. I've never felt any pressure to have expensive tests or treatments and their fees are very reasonable. If you are looking for a vet you can trust them with your fur babies.
Lovely people...Costs Horrendous – Lovely vets and front desk and service but the insane costs are over THREE TIMES the amount charged by our old vet. Took our little kitty with a broken hip to Lakeside Vet Centre as we have moved away from our previous vet and didn’t want to drive there...never again...charging more than three times over our old vet means I’m more than happy to do the extra 20 minutes drive time!!
Terrible poor service – We have used lakeside vet for years before and since the new owners. We board our dog there and use them as our local vets and are loyal customers. My wife and I went on a 6 week holiday to the kimberleys and used Lakeside as boarding for some of the time we were away, my daughter also looked after her for a week or so. My daughter is a registered… Read more
vet nurse and our dog needed some emergency hospilisation so she took her to her work to treat the dog and needed to have her vaccinations updated.
Now here's the clincher, we took our dog back to Lakeside Vet last week again for boarding but didn't get the discount as a loyal customer we always get because we vaccinate our dog at another vet, we explained the reason and they said because we took her to another vet no discount applies.
Wow in a tough business environment you would think they would invite us back with open arms but no the new owner wouldn't come out to discuss and told the staff member the decision stands
Well Lakeside tough call and you loose a loyal client - disgraceful
Do not use Ausvet Joondalup – Whilst moving between homes we decided to board our beautiful 4 year old maine coon x cat at Ausvet in Joondalup. As he has previously been to this vet and boarded at many facilities in Perth including Ausvet. Whilst being boarded we called to make sure everything was going okay, we were told he had been a bit scared and was not eating the dry… Read more
food they put out for him. When checking him in I advised them to feed dry in the morning and wet at night. I asked if I needed to provide them with the food and they said it was all inclusive. Even though they were advised on how to feed our somewhat picky cat he was given dry food only and went 2 to 3 days without eating at all.
As soon as he was given wet food he ate it happily.
When we picked him up we were charged alot more than we were quoted than when we booked him in. Unhappily paying this as we just wanted the experience over. When collecting our boy the "vet nurse" brought him into the waiting room under his arm and with his cage in his hand. Immediately we saw an uncharacteristically scared, anxious and skinny unhealthy boy. The vet explained he didnt think he was weighed correctly when checking him in. He thought he would try and weigh our cat in a waiting room with a large dog. Asking the vet to put him into the cage as the dog ran towards him getting away from his owners. Our cat was physically, mentally and emotionally traumatised. As he put him into the cage our cat was shedding mounts of hair. On the way home he was panting and frothing at the mouth. It has now taken him over a month to get half back to normal. We have gotten a skittish cat back and payed these people hundreds of dollars to mistreat and stress him out. They are taking no responsibility for their actions as the owner has been ignoring our phone calls and breaking promised call backs. We have put a formal complaint in with the veterinary board and will take them to court if we cannot get a resolution. Compensation and maybe an apology would be nice.
