Thisfilter jug does a good job of filtering and allows filtered water to be poured without any remaining unfiltered water spillong out. However it has a small 5 year life sealed battery driven 'filter exchange indicater' mounted in the lid. It is simply a timer, not an indicator that the filter has processed X litres of water. after a couple of weeks, no matter how much use the jug has had. It cannot be opened and the battery replaced so you're left with an unsightly hole on the top of the lid or a u/s gadget that doesn't do anything. A small but very ANNOYING feature.

hitting the lid to achieve the above fit just a little too firmly or often, the jug split a few centimetres on either side of the pouring mouth. I contacted Brita for a possible replacement uncertain of their response as I had caused the damage, although I did point out the weakness in the jug’s design. To my pleasant surprise Brita immediately offered a replacement jug as a gesture of goodwill. This is excellent customer service and a positive reflection on Brita’s corporate policy and discretion. Perfect filtered water every time – I bought this jug so I didn’t have to install a water filter which would be quite expensive. It works amazing and water now tastes so much better too. Easy to use and stores 3.5L also.
Be aware of 30 day warranty – Purchased one of these filter jugs to replace an older one that had cracked. After just over 30 days noticed water on the bench under the jug. Found a 32mm split had developed right in the centre of the base. Contacted Brita Australia to be informed 12 month warranty only applies in the UK. In Australia there is only a 30 day warranty offered. Show details
Green algae with a new filter – That's it, we will never use Brita again. I just found this morning that the jog is full of green algae. I have drunk out of it all this week. The filter was changed few weeks back, and we never had an issue with the water supply. It looks like the quality of the filters went Down Down.
Great product – Love the taste of the water now. Wouldn’t drink tap water anymore. Got it on special at Woolworths. Fits in the fridge perfectly. Highly recommend the product. A must have. Affordable compared to other options
