I called a Didi and waited at the designated pick up point at Perth airport but the driver outright lied about being at the pickup point. I called him again and he mumbled about traffic being bad. Didi still charged me $7.21 and $12.71 and the driver did not arrive!!! I cannot be bothered to fight for this money back but will never use them again.

Didi is a bottom feeder that falsely advertises that drivers 'earn more' and riders 'pay less' - I have no idea what benchmark they are referencing as the fares offered are pitiful at best. Their mapping software is terrible; it freezes mid trip and often after acceptance of a trip. They have text which indicates that when a driver rejects trips,… Read more

'no fault' is applied. That is not true - if enough trips are rejected, there are temporary suspensions from the platform as well as service scoring downgrades against your overall score. If (heaven forbid) you as a driver cancel the trip for any reason whatsoever (the passenger has a gun to your head), you will be punished by Didi with their service scoring. It is woeful. Doesn't matter what situation encounter, it is YOUR fault as a driver. Don't bother with them.

⭐ 1-star review Absolutely terrible experience with DiDi — unfair suspension and zero proper investigation. I was suspended for 12 hours for allegedly completing a trip without picking up the rider. This accusation is simply not what happened. I actually went to the pickup location, picked up the passenger and started the trip. After… Read more

approximately 1 km, the passenger asked me to stop, got out of the vehicle and then cancelled the trip. Despite this, DiDi’s system somehow treated the incident as though I had completed a trip without picking up the passenger.

What is particularly frustrating is that DiDi appears to make serious decisions about drivers’ accounts based on automated records without properly considering what actually happened. Drivers’ livelihoods are being affected, yet there seems to be very little accountability when the system gets something wrong.

I understand that DiDi needs policies to prevent fraud, but suspending a driver based on an incorrect interpretation of a single incident is completely unacceptable.

If DiDi genuinely cared about its drivers, it would properly investigate the trip, review the GPS data and cancellation history, and give the driver a fair opportunity to explain before issuing a suspension.

Drivers are not just numbers on a screen. We spend our own time, fuel and money working on the platform. Treating drivers as guilty first and investigating later is extremely disappointing.

I would strongly encourage DiDi to improve its driver support and investigation process because, based on my experience, the system feels heavily stacked against drivers.

Most drivers are good but I have had a few issues with their drivers but DiDi staff sort it out quickly and usually fairly. driver, DiDi will actually phone you to address the issue and apologise. They need to put a feature on the ordering page where you can specifically state if you don't want to use toll roads because a lot of drivers get annoyed if you request not to use the toll.

I've read a number of the reviews here ... For passengers, most people have no real idea, how the system works. As a Driver of 5.5 years, let me give you the real story ... Some of the myths are: Why does the quoted price suddenly increase ? It only goes up ( or down ), after you refresh the quote page. So, if you are going back and forth,… Read more

between Uber and DiDi, to compare prices .... there's a good chance, it will be different everytime. This is due to the 'demand and supply' factor. Often called 'surge' pricing. Tolls ? Tolls ( in Sydney ) are NOT included in your quoted price. This allows the Driver to ask you, if you want to pay the toll or not. It's quite ok to say, 'no tolls thanks' ( however, a new driver may not be familiar with how to get from 'A to B' via the alternative route. It always pays, to offer any help, if you think it may be needed. Afterall, YOU are the one paying, so contribute to you paying the least amount. Don't just sit there, and say nothing ... then complain later !! My Driver doesn't seem to be moving, so I'm cancelling .... Geez, I hate this one !!! The car 'moving' or not, relies upon a stong and steady internet availability. Many areas in Sydney CBD have interrupted internet connectivity. NEVER rely upon YOUR app, to show the correct status of the Driver. Many times, I have just arrived at pick up, and the passenger standing there with phone in hand, has just cancelled the ride .... because he didn't see the car moving !! Yet, I HAVE BEEN driving toward him for past three minutes. If you do cancel, and re-book, it will only come back to the original Driver again. Don't waste your time AND the Driver's time !! Additional fees or unauthorised charges to your card account ? This is the only area I have no idea about, as I don't 'ride' myself. However, I would assume, there may be Terms & Conditions you may not have been aware of ... Now .... COMPLAINTS about Drivers. I myself, have just been DEACTIVATED. Sacked. Gone. Why ?? Because of an unsubstantiated, malicious complaint from an individual, who never actually got into my car. I don't consider he was ever a 'passenger', but DiDi have taken his version of events as true & correct. The Driver's account ? Means nothing to DiDi. This organisation claims to have a 'Policy' for every occurrence. Yet, they never apply correct Procedural Fairness to Drivers, at an Australian standard. Despite providing a full explanation to each and every one of their allegations against me, DiDi has chosen to terminate me after completing some 15 - 16,000 trips for them. They have been reported to SafeWork NSW for inflicting 'psychological harm and injury' upon me and multiple other drivers, for loss of income, due to unfair suspensions ( min. 7 days, but often 'loaded up' to add another 7 days at the end of the first 7 days. I have just had three loaded 7 days, before they terminated me, after I advised them, I had officially reported them ). I have also lodged a Fair Work Australia Commission complaint, to be Heard as a Civil case against DiDi. Additionally, I have contacted and lodged a request to have DiDi assessed for a Class Action against them ( which could result in a multi-million dollar compensation package, to be distributed to affected Drivers who join the Class Action.

In summary, DiDi are a vindictive employer of Sole Trader Drivers, who are only trying to earn an income of around $1,000. a week ( for up to 60 hours on the road ). DiDi never provide a fair evaluation of complaints against Drivers. The passenger is always right. The Driver's account means nothing. So .... the next time you take a DiDi ride, can you please try to treat the Drive with some consideration ? Don't just sit there, and let him take the wrong route, then complain later ( over-entitled ). Just remember, these Drivers are earning just $10. an hour after paying GST and all vehicle expenses.

Waited 7-10 mins for the airport. Driver came, we had only one luggage, saw it and he said that it can’t fit in his BYD lol. Wasted our time. Why to use your useless car where it cant even fit a small hand carry luggage. I hope nobody has to go through this nonsense. Total waste of time early morning.

would make an atomic clock blush! I don't know exactly what sort of day he was having but the smile on his face lit up the inside of the vehicle, and was a bright start to my day. Unfortunately the electronic driver assist technology appeared to be more of a hinderance than any great help. But no big deal. By me assisting the assistance technology, he got me there. He went to park to wait for me while I picked up something. Anyway, when I didn't see or hear from him, I just rang him. The electronic garbage appeared to have let him down. But he said he would be back soon. And he was. He took me to the other place I wanted to go to and waited for me in the carpark. Then he brought me back safely home. A really enjoyable trip. We had a bit of a chat as we went around. He learned a few things, I learned a few things. Would definitely recommend this particular driver. And if needed, would reach out to him again.

Reading a couple of the reviews below, maybe the customers were having a "bad hair day", put their undies on the wrong way and had their knickers in a knot, or wanted instant gratification - yesterday, for example. Well, it's not all about you and your wants, think about the driver who comes to pick you up. They sometimes come a long way just to take you somewhere, for instance. No matter which mode of transport you choose to use, bus, taxi, rideshare or DiDi, or how much you pay, you treat the driver like what you leave in the loo, you better find an alternative mode of getting to where you want to get to, maybe a magic carpet or a broomstick. Otherwise you will be up a certain creek without a paddle!

Constantly driver accept trips only to cancel just before pickup point after waiting. Drivers are on both didi and uber platforms and switch between the two to whoever has the highest fare rates. This surely has to be as close to price fixing as it gets as passengers will not be able to get a driver on one platform and need to change to another only to be accepted and collected by the same driver who cancelled on the other platform.

I have been a dedicated 5-star driver with DiDi for over 2 years and completed more than 700 trips. Recently, DiDi deducted over $20.53 from a single $34.90 trip, leaving me with almost nothing for my time and running costs. The reason? They claimed I "did not follow the recommended route." In reality, I chose one of the alternative routes… Read more

offered directly BY THE IN-APP DIDI MAPS to bypass heavy traffic. It only added 5 minutes to the trip (their so called preferred route would have added much more time than 5 minutes. Their app is always incorrect and inaccurate) and I got the passenger to their destination safely. When I disputed this ridiculous penalty, their support staff shifted blame, claiming I failed to "report traffic within one hour" to justify their technical error.

When I demanded actual proof for the deduction, their support ended the chat before resolving the issue. I then had to get back in touch and go through the whole process again to then be put onto the most argumentative unhelpful "support" agent. Very unprofessional.

If you drive for DiDi, be warned: they will offer you route options in their own app, and then claw back your hard-earned money if you take them and there's no protection for drivers at all, they won't ever provide you with the actual proof/evidence because if they did so, it would highlight their dodgy behaviour. Because of this dodgy behavior and total lack of adequate support, both myself and my partner are officially deleting the app and moving to platforms that actually respect their drivers. They've lost 2 5 star rated drivers who provide professional and reliable service to their riders.
