The Ecosa Cooling Pillow is generally well-received by customers who praise its combination of ergonomic neck support and effective temperature regulation. Many users highlight the benefit of customisable height inserts and note significant improvements in sleep quality and neck pain relief. While a few individuals experienced issues with fabric wear or found the cooling effect diminished when using standard pillowcases, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.
Unfortunately this pillow was not as I expected. My partner has an Ecosa Standard Pillow and after trying hers, was in love with the support and comfort it offered so decided to buy one of my own. I run quite hot, so figured the Ecosa Cooling Pillow would be perfect for me. After receiving, I was pretty impressed - the cooling function worked… Read more · 1
well and was happy having a new pillow that felt a bit better than my old.
However, after a while, I started waking with some pretty bad aches and pains. Turns out this pillow isn't a cooling version of their standard pillow and is actually a completely different design. It is a lot more restrictive to airways than the standard and doesn't offer anywhere near the same comfort level. Sadly, the 100 day trial had past before I realised this, so support informed I had no option to return or swap out. I probably should have picked up on this sooner, but just figured it was about "breaking in" the pillow. Win some, lose some.
Am now only writing this review so I can redeem a $20 coupon to get the standard model a little cheaper.

Upon submitting this review, support was very helpful and I've since purchased the original ecosa pillow and am finding it to be far better for me. Have updated review to reflect this support and new pillow.

The cooling aspect is great but after two days the pillow starts to fray and becomes really uncomfortable to sleep on. I suspect it's because my beard is rubbing on the material -surely pillow should be able to handle people with beards...
The cooling pillow for menopause – I had the Ecosa original pillow and it was great for relieving pain in my neck and shoulders as I have bad injuries to both areas however I am in menopause and have been for 10+ years now with night sweats and even though I washed the cover weekly and I had a silk pillowcase also washed weekly the sweat had gone through to the pillo. to buy another and to my surprise you had the cooling pillow I absolutely love it has helped so much but I do hope that you would also sell the covers separately as I feel this would be beneficial to a lot of your customers and also o love the smoother texture of the actual pillow love love love it thank you.

I’ve bought so many "cooling" pillows in the past that feel cold for five minutes and then turn into a heating pad by midnight. This one is completely different. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and here is what actually makes it worth the money: - It stays cool: The cooling side actually works. It does a great job of dispersing heat so… Read more · 1
you aren't constantly flipping the pillow over looking for a cold spot in the middle of the night.
- You can change the height: This is a massive plus. Usually, buying a memory foam pillow is a gamble because you don't know if it'll be too high or too flat. Being able to adjust the height meant I could tweak it until it perfectly fit how I sleep.
- Great support: It has a really nice, supportive feel. It shapes to your neck and head nicely, giving you that comfortable, weightless feeling without waking up with a stiff neck.
- No weird smell: A lot of foam pillows smell like a chemical factory when you open them, but this one was fine right out of the box.
It’s definitely on the pricier side, but if you’re a hot sleeper who is tired of wasting money on pillows that don't fit quite right, this one is absolutely worth it.
If you have neck issues this may be good for you - it has been good for me. I have struggled for a long time with finding a pillow that fits the contour of my neck in a way that is comfortable and supportive. Since using this pillow I have almost no neck pain when I used to get it every other day. The pillow has 2 raised edges with one being… Read more · 1
shorter than the other so you are given options. The pillow also comes with inserts that you can slide into the back to raise the pillow further.
I used it without a cover to get the cooling effect but I did not notice it much but that may because I have very thick hear. When I didn't use a cover I noticed the material fray very slightly so I would recommend a cover.
The material is soft without losing support. I used to have to squish my pillows around to get a shape that works but this does it flawlessly.
I was offered a discount off my next purchase for submitting this review; however, everything I've said is completely honest and I'll probably put the discount towards buying a second of these pillows.

pillow), you won't mind reading before purchasing!
Quality sleep matters to our health, on a number of levels, especially as we age! My hubby and I (and various members of my extended family), have all been on the hunt for a quality pillow for what feels like years now. I'm sure my mother (now in her mid 70's) has spent thousands over the years, desperately trying different designs in the quest for a good night's sleep. From cheap, throw away - "might-as-well-give-them-a-go" pillows, to hotel-quality and high end - "hurt-the-wallet", but makes "all-the-promises-in-the-world" kinds of pillows, and everything in between. She'd essentially given up, until we heard about the Ecosa **Height Adjustable Cooling Pillow.
After traveling with a friend recently (who purchased hers some time ago), she raved about hers when I inquired about it. After hearing about all the features, I immediately googled it, did a little reading and purchased on the spot, planning for it to be part of a larger hamper of Father's Day gifts for my hubby.
At the time, I purchased a second pillow (there was a discount promotion if buying a second pillow – clever marketing, but it worked and I'm glad I did!). I figured I would also give it a try but I primarily purchased the second to lend to family to give it a try (especially my Mum, given her health issues and ongoing quest). Worst case, I figured Ecosa offered a 100-day guarantee if we weren't happy.
Thankfully, hubby fell in love with his very quickly. It did take him a few nights of playing with the height adjustable pieces to land on the level 'just right' for him but he's never looked back. It was one of his favourite gifts on FD!
I fell in love with mine immediately; I happened to guess the 'just right' level for me on night one. So, after only one night I loaned mine to my mum, thinking if she loved it I would buy her one as an early Christmas presents. Suffice to say, it hasn't come back haha. She has also fallen in love with it, though it took her a few nights of playing to get her 'just right'!
So, as that was three out of three of us happy, I immediately placed an order for two more - one to replace mine (I've actually missed having it) and one for our daughter, who we recently found out has mild scoliosis. We hope this will support her posture better while she sleeps - the goal being to have a straight spine and not just a supported head/neck.
We will be gifting these to the rest of the parentals next, and when we can afford to, we will be ordering two for our guest room as well (as we host a lot of friends and family and it will be great to offer height optionality given we're all different). It will be interesting to see how many of our guests fall in love with this pillow and end up buying one. By now, I'm thinking we should be charging commission!
The following are just a few of the key reasons we've each reported loving this pillow design:
The removable / washable cover. Though all quality pillows offer this, Ecosa's are very well made and slide on / off much easier than many we've tried. We put this down to the quality of the material of both the cover and the pillow inserts themselves. There's nothing more annoying than battling with trying to slip a pillowcase protector on and the insert resisting. Painful - especially when we're talking about gifting this to ageing parents who struggle with these basic tasks as it is.
The pillow quality. You can just see the quality in everything Ecosa does anyway. But in this case, from the vacuum seal bag all the bits come in (allowing for better quality storage for any additional height adjustable pieces not in use), to the little draw string carry bag it comes with (making traveling with your new fave pillow easy), to the stitching and manufacturing of the pillow quality itself overall, make this pillow definitely worth the $.
The pillow shape. Over and above the different height adjustable pieces, the pillow itself has a shorter and higher side, allowing for further optionality. Some pillows we’ve tried don’t quite get the shape right.
The pillow plushness. It’s the perfect balance of soft and plush but without compromising on being supportive and firm. So many of these curved shaped, supportive / chiro type pillows are too firm, actually risking doing more harm than good. The plushness makes it feel more luxurious to sleep on, while not at the cost of you feeling like you’re being swallowed up by it or claustrophobic because of it either.
Above all, our two favourite features, in order, are:
1. The height adjustable feature. (There are so many variations to support you getting a sleep that’s 'just right' for you). 2. The shape and feel of the pillow.
The fact that each of us are so happy, despite having different expectations of what comfort should feel like and very different body shapes / heights / weights (and therefore neck shapes etc), says a lot about the quality and design too.
We've stopped joking we're all Goldilocks now we've found our 'just right' pillow!
SMALL CAVEATS: The cooling technology is new to us. It’s not something we’ve tried before. It’s too early to tell so we’re somewhat ‘jury out’ on this. You can definitely feel it's slightly cooler to touch, when touching the Ecosa pillowcase cover. But as we sleep with a pillowcase over the top of ours (so it matches all our linen / looks nicer - we're not that keen on Ecosa that we’d advertise their branding from our bed haha), we can't honestly say you can feel that same ‘cooler feel’ through our pillowcase per se. That said, we're guessing the pillow insert itself must have been designed to be more breathable / a 'cooler' design somehow, as it definitely doesn't feel hot when sleeping on this pillow. We just can't honestly say it feels "cool" either. We'd just suggest, don't go buying it and expecting something unrealistic - like you're sleeping on a soft ice brick direct from the fridge! ;)
The only small criticism we have so far is that the bag doesn’t feel quite big enough. You can definitely get the pillow into the bag, but it does take bit of work to roll the pillow up small enough to fit into the bag, but you can do it - just don't expect elderly or folks with hand strength challenges to be able to do it easily/at all.
DISCLAIMER: It's still early days (only weeks) so we can't speak to how it will stand up over time but based on the above we’ve never looked back and feel it’s been good value for money based on the sleep it’s already bought us to date.
PRO TIP: Though we didn’t need time to realise it’s value. We highly recommend you play with the different levels it comes with and even turn the pillow around (you'll see the front and back are even different heights), so you can get the balance 'just right' for your neck/head support before making any final decisions. We also spotted one another to ensure when laying down it looked like our spine was straight when on our side, to ensure we nailed the height as best as we could. Interestingly, even while playing with the different levels each night, we all still felt we had a better quality sleep regardless. So that's about the pillow shape and quality overall.

I bought an Ecosa cooling pillow some time ago, looking for something that would give me good support for my neck. I couldn't have picked better. Absolutely love it. but not too firm. I'm not sure that it's particularly "cooling", but it's not a hot pillow. One tip is to do yourself a favour and get a pair of the Ecosa bamboo pillow cases too. They are the right size and don't compress the pillow (which I found was the case with standard pillow cases) plus they feel great. This was the second pillow I bought as my wife loved it too. Fully recommend, 5 stars.
The Ecosa Cooling Pillow is the best, most comfortable pillow, and cooling pillow that I have experienced ever. The pillow is shaped to provide height options depending on how you are feeling, and has improved my sleep! Highly recommend. Show reply

Negative reviews
I've been contemplating this review for a few weeks. The things I like about the Ecosa Cooling Pillow are the soft memory foam, which doesn't make my ear sore as a side sleeper, and especially the height pads. They're easily the best feature. I'm not even sure they're memory foam, they feel more like regular foam. I actually used them in a cheap… Read more
memory foam pillow and, comparing that setup to the Ecosa now, I can't say there's a massive difference.
As for the "cooling" claim, it's misleading. The pillow doesn't cool you down, it's just less hot than regular memory foam. I also dislike the marketing around the perpetual discounts. Seeing a constant "sale" from $210 to $168 does nothing for me.
A video of it rolled up made it seem travel-friendly, especially with the height pads for different beds. The bundle setup (pillow, multiple height pads, and travel accessories) adds to that appeal.
The biggest downside is how long it's taken to get comfortable. It took me around five weeks to find a good sleeping position, despite the endless Instagram ads promising the best night's sleep. None of my previous pillows took this much adjustment.
I also dislike the lower side of the pillow. It feels poorly designed for sleeping, though it could work as a wedge when lying in bed using a device. I use the higher side, but unlike most neck-style pillows where the other side has a slight lower contour, this one is almost flat. The higher side also feels a bit too high for comfortable long use.
Another issue is the overall size. Even with only the 3 cm height pad installed, it’s a tight fit in a standard pillowcase. When compressed, the pillow feels firmer than intended. I can’t imagine how it would fit with the larger height options installed. I did try 4 cm, and it confirmed my point, but it was too uncomfortable.
I'm still within the trial period and undecided. The height pads are the main reason I'm leaning toward keeping it, but seeing the non-cooling version advertised as the best-seller also makes me question whether I chose the wrong one and whether I'd be better off with that instead.

Currently reached out to support team and seeing if this is a known issue?
Team has reached back to me and after trimming off the balls of fibres, it is a little better.
And if I was to want a replacement pillow case, it will be a 2 month wait, hence making me just keep my existing defect one.

I initially bought a pair of these, but have since ordered more for my son. They're of the same curved profile as the regular Ecosa pillows, so great for both back sleepers and side sleepers, but they're genuinely cool to touch. When in use they do warm up after a while, like normal pillows, but all you need to do is slide a little left or right (no need to flip them over) and you're in the cool again.
As with the normal Ecosa pillows, they also come with a range of extra inserts providing multiple options for thickness. Once you've configured the pillow to your liking, you can then place any unused inserts in the air-tight bag and store them safely and easily under the bed for later use.
I am one of those people who have spent hundreds of dollars on pillows trying to get comfortable. Having a free trial made me feel confident to give the Ecosa pillow a go. I am really happy with the pillow. The contour is soft but supportive. Happy to recommend this pillow. Show reply

The Ecosa cooling pillow is a hands down winner. I purchased two of them a month ago and my wife and I love them. The pillows themselves are comfortable and I like how you can adjust the height of them with the inserts. Once you have a pillow case on the cooling effect is not really noticeable. Without the pillow case they are nice and cool, but not very aesthetic. Show reply
